No. They have to be English, playing in England, not switched allegiances (ie an Englishman switching to Ireland/Wales), and they only have to feature in 1 game.

What this means is that someone coming off the bench for the final minute of the final game of the season scores the same as Max Bird who is almost ever present.

Also, DRobinson, Cybulski, Stretton, Cashin, Ebosele and Knight all played in the league for us in 21/22 but none of them count towards the productivity rankings.

Buchanan counted last season but doesnt now due to playing abroad, even if it is at a level equal to the PL. Delap counts for us this season (split with Man City), but if he ever chooses to represent Ireland, he'll stop being counted.

So biased, nationalistic and short sighted?

On your last statement, your money spent will be richly rewarded with a season's worth of football matches at Pride Park. The club makes no guarantees on the quality of those football matches!

    Agree and disagree.

I’m thankful that I have the opportunity to attend a season’s worth of matches.

But I’m not from a footballing family. My dad was a lead guitarist (amongst other things) and had other passions. So the opportunity I have gives me a chance to forge memories and spend time with my son.

So why would I or others spend hard earned money to be not entertained? This is why so many of love Mac1. I just want to share that feeling with my boy.

As long as the new kit has white socks I don’t really mind, black socks makes the players seem short🐏🐏🧦🧦

This is only because we refuse to sign players over six foot tall.

And while we’re at it all that ‘Owning the garibaldi red’ is as much faux Belloc as those two stars they lie about. Notts do not own the colour red. End of.

  4. I can understand the frustration.

NLN was very clear on the benefits of getting your business done early. And believe me, if we’re serious about promotion there’s a big rebuild needed.

To emphasise this, I’ll say the following. As a season ticket holder (ooh get me - nearly a half fan) I bought a programme for pretty much every home game. There wasn’t one in which we had the longer list of first team players on the back page.  And not by a little bit, but regularly by ten or fifteen players.

So we had a small squad. And have lost 7 or 8 from that already.

And we had a chance in January to push on. Nay sayers will point to lack of funds. I’ll point to the job done at Burton Albion. Transformed the squad for naff all and transformed the team performance. We got an ineffectual teenager from Norwich who could run around a bit and an ineffectual teenager from Spurs who’ll probably have a fair to middling career eventually (aren’t all our Spurs loaners like that?). Not a massive statement from Warne on his ability to shape a team is it?

I’ve renewed the said season tickets. But I’ve got to say there is part of my conscious nagging at me (yes probably the bit that lives in a cardboard box) saying ‘where’s the evidence that the money you’ve spent will be richly rewarded’.

  5. Just spending a beautiful evening in the company of the not littlest hobo and an unemployed astronaut (you can’t fault her  ambition 😁).

Anyway the vagrant community that live in my head are aghast that apparently Waghorn made it onto the much vaunted long list.

Only to be thrown off it by Warne because he was worried Waggy might be funnier than him 😱

The Scottish league could be a good one for us. Seven out of the 12 teams have a wage bill less than £5m - Livingston’s manager actually said the average wage in his side was £900 - highest earner £1500. They don’t even have the lowest wage bill in the top flight.

Aside from Celtic and Rangers, we are competitive against the rest on wages. I would imagine ours run similar to Aberdeen and Hearts - with our ceiling being much higher if promoted. There is always a steady stream of players who end up doing well in the football league, even if not the Premier League.

If he signs a new contract at Notts County before his current one runs out then strictly speaking he'll never have been classed as a free agent?

Not that that's going to happen.

So he could sign for Notts or one of five other clubs. Interesting but I’ll have to come back to it as there’s someone banging on the front door 🤣

‘Could be a free agent?’ with insight like that I’m expecting Pete O’Rourke to be banging on my front door later demanding a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 😂

  9. Not many rumours in here. So…

Chatting to my old mate with a shopping trolley and a talkative garden gnome last night.

Neither had seen a list but both had heard Tom Bloxham was on it. Leicester lad playing in a Steve Cotterell farmers XI at Shrewsbury. Tall, mobile and can play as a 9 or 10. Seen as a good foil for Alfie May and / or Sibbers. Needs to add goals to his game but Warne believes that is possible.

The only downside is he’s an ex public schoolboy like the much beloved Will Hughes, so local newsagents could be in for a hard time 😧

  10. Just bumped into Old Trampie in the outer recesses of my mind. You’ll be pleased to know he’s been happily ensconced in a romantic interlude with a tea lady in someone else’s head for the last eighteen months but he’s back for at least a couple of weeks. As long as I keep him in cheap cider.

Anyway, it seems he’s been keeping his ears and eyes open…

Apparently, given the play off result yesterday Trampie’s is swearing on a can of White Lightning that Derby are planning to contact Barnsley about the availability of Kitching and Anderson. Kitching is now our number one target and Warne see’s Kitching as the central defender leader to lead the Rams to glory in this division and the one above. Initial bid will rise to a Barker sized fee with add ons, but this does represent roughly half of our transfer budget / war chest.

Anderson is the more achievable, with the player keen on the move and would provide height and steel alongside Harding as Warne is fearful of playing Harding and Cashin in the same back three as neither are six footers. Trampie expects us to drive a hard bargain on this one though. Meaning that both transfers require ‘work’ and could drag on later into the window.

    The oracle has spoken.
