This is the first post I have seen since opening the thread, and the perfect one to say I'm sorry if you have messaged/mentioned me and I have ignored you, this morning has been chaos in all honesty, I'm not being lazy, haven't stopped since 8am.
I am now just finalising things by getting a couple of points fact checked to ensure that what I put out is completely accurate and not spend the day/evening correcting myself.
Feel like I'm apologising a lot lately, it's just I want to you to know I'm not trying my best here, not looking to tease this out, get more views, likes, attention, nothing of the sort.
I'm being sent screenshots of abuse, tweets and posts asking to verify all morning across different platforms, I'm asking you to please stop, in fact please don't even react to this thread as it will only add further to my notifications I have to work through. Never had to deal with anything on this scale before and in all honesty, I'm struggling as I don't want to ignore any of you.
Thanks again to the many for understanding on the forum, love you all and the positive support from last night makes me proud of what we have all created, I just need a bit more time. ??

    Me neither re: Twitter!
It is tedious and disheartening to read gratuitous, derogatory comments about David, or vapid assertions about the other meeting attendees being 'smug ITKs', or whatever.
The guys & gals that attend SCGs aren't just hooked off the street by a Pride Park bouncer; a lot of hours and miles are put in by them, voluntarily, within the fanbase. Remember they love the club, too.
I'm sure they are broadly representative, be they a forum rep, supporter club member, or 'minority / BAME' group, heritage, governance interest group, or so on - they do have the respect of the club, so we should accord similar respect to fellow fans.
They are not beholden to 'spill the beans' and pile onto social media at anyone's beck & call, in an instant; the club requires discretion and accuracy from them, having been entrusted with sensitive information.
The focus for us fans is surely to pull together, to be supportive  of the lads on the pitch; be defiant, in this adversity, for the players and the club?
Make a noise of Saturday, chant player's names, not just crude anti-EFL songs (yes - I hate them too, y'know!) Channel your energy into helping the team through what we expect to be bl 00dy tough games.
There's a convoluted tangle around just about everything connected with the club - we wish it were sorted but it isn't.
Blaming and trashing all connected - and your own fan groups, isn't actually helpful IMHO.
Rant over: feel free to target me, though I'm afraid it won't solve a thing :-o

I’m clearly on another planet; I read the club’s statement & yeah,  it says what it can, but clearly there’s not much detail they can share at the minute, but I instantly felt a bit more connected again. The line about the lost £20m due to the pandemic really struck me. My daughter & I both said as soon as we read it that we’ll buy the new shirt as soon as it’s out!
I grew up near the Baseball Ground & could hear the crowd from our house. The club is in my blood & always will be so I’ll always do what I can to support its future as it’s our future too ?

somebody like Brentford will sign him for a million and sell him on for 20 million a couple of years later. We could have done with Timi this year....DCFC were very shortsighted in letting him go.

It's obvious from some of the clips I have posted that he's not up against the quality of defences he would be in the championship,  BUT he is club captain, and a driving force in the team yet still only just 23. They sit top of their league and are now in their cup final.
What a shame we didn't give him a chance n the first team here at Derby. I think we let him go because of his injury record, ironically he seems to have been pretty much injury free for his current club.

Just spotted the new forum rule of no politics, religion, sex (has there ever been sex? I must have missed that). Even in The Pub! Huge shame. I felt it was really informative to see the different opinions on say Brexit or whatever, with fascinating polls to gauge the view of the forum.
I'm disappointed if people took it so seriously that it had to be shut down. In the end we're all Derby fans and that should be a deep bond. This place will be much the poorer for not being able to discuss topics around the edges.

I’d take a 7 iron, followed by a 6 iron, then a sand wedge, another 7 iron, then I’d probably try a wood to see if that would finally get me out of the rough. After about another 5 attempts I’d probably give this hole up as a double bogey ?

Yes, many times. It’s good quality, plentiful, standard pub fare, with the emphasis on filling you up, rather than haute cuisine. They serve all day, which is an advantage if you’re walking and don’t want to be bound by usual meal times. It’s a good local, fun and friendly. If you want something posher, but pricier, try the Greyhound.
The Barley at Kirk Ireton is one of those, experience it before it changes, places. It’s been the same landlady for at least 35 years that I know of. Numerous other great pubs in the area, Barley at Bonsall, Flying Childers at Stanton, Druid at Birchover, Nelson at Middleton etc etc. I’m now a devotee of the Royal Oak in Wirksworth, where Burton Bridge is still £3 a pint.

I was really lucky to get an invite along today to the yard from John O’Hare to meet up with some of the 70s legends who were meeting up to celebrate Roy Macs 70th birthday and the annual Easter visit of Alan Hinton.
i thought I would take the opportunity to take my son along to meet some of the older players who when he is grown up will hopefully be given the status that that Steve Bloomer gets now, at least he will have a few photos to show that he really did meet the men who made us famous and for a brief moment in time perhaps the greatest football team in the world ?
when I got there I was a little embarrassed to find that I was the only member of the general public in attendance and felt a little bit out of place, the classic gatecrasher at the party, fortunately I know a number of them already and was instantly welcomed, I made sure that we sat just out side of the main group to allow them to chat to each other
Every one of them made time to come over and have a sit with us, I had of course taken some stuff to get signed as it was to good an opportunity to miss, after checking that they were ok with it they signed stuff and sat and talked and had photos with my son, he loved it and entered into some great conversation with them all, he was asking them about the odd haircuts that they had on the photos ( he is only eight) he told John Ohare that he should now be called john nohare which I’m not sure if john picked up on or not, he spoke to Alan about his white boots and got me showing Alan photos of his green boots, to a man they sat and chatted away talking about anything and everything, the numbers continue to dwindle, I felt like the man in the middle sharing stories of my recent meets with Colin Boulton, Colin Todd, Frank Wignall, john McGovern, and Peter Daniel, those in attendance (some with their good ladies) were John Ohare, Alan Hinton, Alan Durban, Roy McFarland, Roger Davies, Rod Thomas, Jim Walker and Henry newton, once again it struck me that the club should make more of a fuss of these guys whilst they are with us, let’s not wait twenty year before we finally get round to making up a song for them that we sing and the younger generation doesn’t have a clue what the names Todd, McFarland, Nish, Hector, Hennessy, Boulton, Newton, Gemmill, Davies, McFarland, O’Hare, McGovern, Hinton etc mean to Derby as a city.

Was talking to the young 18 year old girl at work yesterday and she said she went for a posh dinner with her mum for mother’s day.. What did you have I say.. Burger she says proudly.. The bloke asked her how she likes it.. I am thinking surely she does not say in a bun... No, out comes ‘like McDonalds’!! After a bit of help from her mum, it’s agreed ‘well done’ is the preferred choice..
Told her I had Tuna steaks on Saturday night and a strange look crosses her face.. ‘Do they have Tuna on them’? Urggg.. FFS she thought it was some sort of morphed turf and surf.. By this time I am joined by our resident Frenchman who is a proper foody.. Tells her he grates truffle on his pizza.. ‘ Why would you put chocolate on a pizza’? Was then time to go, we wer wetting ourselves.
    Gotta love kids.

Sad news today. After years of medical training and hard work, a mate of mine has been struck off after one minor indiscretion. He slept with one of his patients so can no longer work in the profession. What a waste of time and effort. A genuinely nice guy, and a brilliant vet.

I know we've done this before but its sort of compulsory when it pops up again!
First game 1970 v Everton who were Champions at the time. Walking up to the ground as a 10 year old with the crowds, the smell of cigarette smoke, walking past pubs with that old stale beer smell wafting through the doors, being scared when grown men are shouting and threatening each other across the street, coppers keeping order with clips round the ear.
Get into the ground, feel the buzz, the sheer excitement and electricity of thousands packed in like sardines, swaying and singing, being lifted up by complete strangers and passed down to the front to sit legs crossed at the side of the pitch.....
I remember playing Leicester at home after Clough and Taylor had been sacked/resigned in 1973, it was the first game i went to with mates rather than with an adult. I was on the Popside, i thought i was a proper grown up, its hard to explain, but  i was a skinny little lad who took confidence from being old enough to get the train into Derby, walk up to the ground and be part of the masses singing their hearts out every game. I turned from a timid lad to "one of the boys" at a school that was mainly Stoke fans. Never did get bullied or picked on after that point and have always worn my Rams colours/badges etc since. Still do now.
!974-75 season was unbelieveable, we took on every club with total football. Colin Boulton in goal (got to be the best ever English keeper not to get a cap), Toddy, Nish, Thomas and Peter Daniel (standing in for the injured Roy Mac) at the back, Bruce Rioch, Henry Newton and Archie Gemmill in midfield, Gladys, Zak, Big Rog and Frannie Lee smashing the goals in......went every game, home and away. The Vulcan Street Popside was the place to be back then. Away fans would try and "take" it,  never happened....Tottenham, West Ham, Man City, Arsenal.....all got a good kicking a few seconds after the initial gap opened up on an already packed terrace.....fair play to them, can't remember any other fans trying to take the Popside, How those gaps opened up is amazing but once the bloke with the cap (from Ilson), or the big Dutch lad, Johann, piled in, it was all over for the away lads who thought little Derby were an easy touch. This was 7 or 8 years before the DLF were even heard of.
We are the Derby, the Midlands we rule....

Had a go at this but without much thought - what stands out from a quick review of the memory ? maybe those are the most pertinent (and not sure these are in chronological order) :
    - first visit, night match v Hull , 3:2 to us I think in 1969
    - Championship presentation at the BBG  on a sunday (? )  after we first won it
    - 4:1 win over Real Madrid, Oct 75 (?) , Charlie at his best
    - Roger's incredible 5 against Luton. He should have had 8.
    - Beating the mighty Liverpool in the 80s - think it was 4 ;0 at half time.
    - First match against Clough's Forest since their return. 0:0, incredible atmosphere, great game
    - Appalling and shocking racism and hatred from Rams fans on the Popside when we played Ardiles and Villas' Spurs
    - Running for cover with my old man  out of the Ossie End from rioting Man City fans. Having been a season ticket holder since the old Third Division days he never went to the BBG again.
    - Laughing with my mates when being hemmed in by thousands of fans both getting in to the ground (pop-side)  and coming out, with your feet hardly touching the ground. Little did we know how close to a Hillsborough-like catastrophe we were.
    - Crammed into the Normanton terraces to see Norman Whiteside win it for Man U
    - Very similar scenario against Sheff Wed. Bobby Davison - what a hero.
    - Beating Lincoln 7;0 in the third division
    - Promotion against Plymouth on the last day of the season
    - Ditto against Palace, then the London media's darlings
