Haha yes Charlize Theron is 'on my radar' but we've not been linked, other than the restraining order...

Shinnie has been through spells before where he couldn't find a pass or get properly involved in games.
But he pulled through and will do again.
He has the attitude we will need in abundance this year.
Others around him are far less effective.
We still haven't found a group of players confident enough in each other's game to give a quick pass and go for the return.
We're in permanent 'safe' mode, prepared for something to go wrong.

He's a general purpose traditional british midfielder.
He's not a defesnive midfielder, a creative midfielder, a wide midfielder or a transitional midfielder, he's just that general purpose box to box man who does a lot of stuff without being great at anything, but he's dogged and determined and we're going to need that this season. Anyone who doesn't see that is kidding themselves.
Is he going to be a key part of the next grat promotion chasng side? probably not. Is he vital to this rams side? yes.

I'm not convinced any of us actually know who Lampard signed for what reason - Unless one of you guys are Frank in disguise?
Worth noting that Johnson was the player Clement brought in when Bryson got injured - I've always viewed Butterfield and Johnson as the 'stop gaps' we brought in when Hughes and Bryson got long(ish) injuries at the start of that season
That plus Johnson was used by Lampard as a last resort in that position - He started off playing further forward and only got pulled back into that place when it seemed Lampard worked out none of our other midfielders could tackle
Personally I think Shinnie is a lot more like Bryson and Johnson at their best - Which is box to box, using their boundless anergy to disrupt play further up the pitch, add an extra body to every attack and defence, get into the box at both ends and provide an extra passing option in the middle - Not sure Shinnie is at his best restricted to the deeper role

He is a solid, dependable mainstay of the current Rams team.
He would be sorely missed when we need to build, not dismantle!

We shouldn't even be entertaining this. He was great last season, and in a relegation dog fight, he is the exact player you need. Bags of character and commitment to the cause.

One of our few players who based on last season who should be looking at higher teams than us if anything. Not going to league 1

I think he is best as a box to box midfielder. A number 8 not a 6.

I don’t go on Twitter, except once to give Vydra some support when everyone was on his back during Pearson’s tenure. It’s rather too full of certain types of voices who love to shout at people like like thugs in the middle of a mob whilst wearing a face mask, dark glasses and a hoodie
David, I don’t know you at all but for someone who, I guess is still relatively young, you are a voice of calm reason and maturity. Anything you say, I accept as being overflowing with the best of good intent.

I hope you have been able to ignore any vitriol from the wrong quarters.
Thanks for all your efforts. Fans and folks of reason are all on your side and understand the work you do.

I'm a bit surprised he signed in the end. I can only put it down to the fact that for the first time in his career he has joined a club crazier than he is. Obviously has confused him.

Just shows. Couple of days ago people were posting bye bye Ravel as he apparently unfollowed DCFC on Twitter....then 2 days later he's a Derby player.

You did what you felt was best at the time as you have always done on here.
That is all that can be asked of a person.
Please don’t try not to let other people’s general dissatisfaction with life affect yours.
You are a noble human being and those with an ounce of sense will see that.

Sums up what most people think about us at the moment - we're an absolute shitshow off the field, therefore this must equate to another 11 Points season on the field. I don't see it that way however, the group is fairly close knit and the starting 11 with Knight and Bielik to come back is a mid table team - it just depends how any injuries and covid affects us through the course of the season. Happy to fly under the radar for now anyway if other teams think they just have to turn up to beat us - they could be in for a rude awakening hopefully.

totally professional yesterday both manager and players alike , all seem to be in this together which is a positive for Wayne , going to be a long hard season but with this team spirit and 2 or 3 more players added there is no reason we cant avoid relegation

Wasn't Rooney's biggest fan, even a week or so ago. But to see the crap that he's been dealt with during pre season with no funds, inability to bring in transfers and an owner who doesn't want to be there, I'm starting to warm to him and what he's about. You can see his desire to succeed and I do think he is doing all he can to bring Derby out of the mire we're in.
He's assembling what could be a fairly competitive squad and managed to pull a team together today that produced a result without having played together. Huddersfield aren't the strongest side in the division but you have to play what's in front of you.
He's got some games to win before he proves himself as manager but Im routing for him.

His 'name' would make it easy for him to get another job, there's always plenty of teams wanting a new manager. So it's not because he couldn't get another job that he's still here!

A big part about being a striker is scoring goals , the more you score the more confidence you get , more confidence = more shots , = more goals , makes sense to me.

I don't follow anything other than this forum, am not on Twitter etc so don't really understand the wider criticism you refer to. On this forum the only criticism has been of the really weird way the club decided to communicate with the fans. Anything you said would have been taken and analysed/rehashed so I get your concern about posting anything.
IMHO, the time has past, and everyone has moved on. If you have anything to add to what's already out there then just say it, but otherwise don't stress it, get back to posting as normal because life has moved on. The season has started and anyway from what has come out already its clear absolutely no one knows what happens next so please forget about it and join in with normal service.

You've let no one down, it's been a tough and emotional undertaking, as well as ever-changing. Thanks for all your hard work, and all the mods hard work too.
