Yes agreed and second half he got more involved by getting more forward, one thing he does need to improve on is his final pass once he as got in that great position mind you the same can be said for all our full backs at the club

I feel more or less the same but Derby helped me through lockdown because, like Everest, it was still there, even at a distance. .. a symbol and semblance of normality, something to look forward to, something to hang on to. That said, TV is so very sterile, I’d get distracted very easily while the game went on. At times it just went on in the background. At a live game practically every kick it has my whole attention.
I really welled up went I went to the first friendly, lump in my throat, eyes stung as they announced the teams were in the tunnel. Vastly more emotional than I realised was ever possible.

Not worried about Watson one little bit .. He’s there already. 2 preseason games I saw plus Saturday and last night.
Full package .. 4 strong performances. If there good enough, they’re old enough. Watson is !
Hutch .. no sure yet, but he’s brave, got a shot on him, plays it simple. .. maybe not a stater but can earn a place on the bench and hopefully will learn as he plays

Nothing to lose. Sheff Utd will expect to have all eyes on promotion and will potentially change most of their team. Play without fear and see what happens.

33 Years away from Derby, so Rams TV again for me as well.
Always been a happy clapper, so I'm looking forward to seeing how Rooney
manages with everything stacked against him! I still haven't written him off,
and genuinely believe that we will end up middle of the table, siege mentality
    sounds good to me.

Yeah, I can't wait until it's feasible to get into the ground and cheer on the team.
It costs me a fortune in travel but that somehow makes it more special.
I, like many, have to get used to being surrounded by other people but I want the thrill of the game back.
    TV doesn't quite cut it.

I wondered, as we get close to the start of a (nearly normal) new season, how you feel about Derby? I've realised that I've leaned more on watching the Rams, even though it's not at the stadium, than I thought. For me it has helped to normalise the pandemic situation. Things haven't been as good as we as fans might hope - although I did enjoy the final game of the season! But it's all about to start again, so 'Come on You Rams'!

    EDIT:
Just to confirm... Yes, definitely new cards this season.
There was a statement/tweet a few weeks back, that the internal workings of the previous season cards have now expired.  Old cards are now dead.  They have ceased to be.  They are no more.

    Good question.
The club hasn't got a pot to pi55 in at the moment, but is probably paying some spotty "management consultant" £5,000 a day to advise them on how to maximise revenue?

I saw Hutchinson take a touch on Saturday that certainly raised my eyebrows. The talent of a young player isn't so easy to judge in terms of their goals and assists at academy level, but their close control and ability to move the ball within the first one or two touches. I think Hutchinson has something that makes him a very bright prospect. He will have a lot of opportunities here; he's very similar to Bird so that's who he has to beat out for a starting spot - at least for now.

Was a little glimpse on why Brighton were upset when he walked out on them with him not seeing a pathway forward and got games at Southend before we moved in.

well done last night boys , while Festy , Watson and Rav rightly get the plaudits , id like to give a big shout out for Hutchinson and Jordan Brown who both after initial shaky starts last night grew into the game , the maturity , composure , guts and tenacity of these two boys was first class , looking forward to the continued development of these two and the rest of the Academy boys , the future while not bright at the minute is beginning to glimmer COYR

Hit the wall with a free kick and walloped the rebound in to the back of the net at more or less high velocity armour piercing velocity … Did very well. Covering for young ones and picking nice passes. Got a sweet touch. If we get round pegs in round holes he could be a maestro.

Have to say I had my head in my hands for the first 20 - reminiscent of the Chorley game where our youngsters were simply out muscled. Rabbits in headlights sprung to mind.   But then I feel they gave themselves a slap and dug right in.  We clearly have some young talent at this club and that talent showed.
Festy was brilliant going forward and was the spark we needed to get going.  Yes he has much to learn, and you could see Fozzy talking to him, but he has the potential to set this league alight.  Destined for right MF?
I thought Brown did really well - under the radar maybe, but did everything needed without fuss. Lots of guts to volunteer for a penalty at the end.
Louie Watson grew into the game and was all over the place - looking for the ball every time.  A confident lad, shown when, like Brown he stood up for a pen.
Sibley improved but took a while to get into the game I thought. Unlucky not to score.
Stretton worked his socks off and really should have rewarded his effort with a goal.
Morrison looked frustrated at times when getting himself into some good positions only to not get the ball.  Clearly wanted to make an impact hence why he dropped so deep to get the ball.  I thought his movement was great, showing so really good touches. His half-volley goal was class. He could turn out to be just what we need - he seemed genuinely happy to get his goal.
Yes we remain extremely thin on the ground, but IF we can keep injuries to a minimum then I don't think we'll be looking over our shoulder at the bottom 3.  There's some great talent in this team, if not experience and that will grow with each game.  It may only have been Salford, but they're a team on the up, full of confidence and favourites to win the league.  It was a great, confidence building game for our youngsters and Rooney was spot on when he said they'd left the pitch as men.  Roll on Saturday.

! Kept his cool - ball was wrong side of him for a straight shot. Sorted his feet out, turned the defender at the same …. Lovely skill. Joz started it all by keeping the ball and breaking forward instead of passing backwards … rare moment of positive after the first 20 mins … and we were rewarded

Jozwiak's pass makes that goal happen. Plays it through the lines to Sibley and it became a 4 on 3. That's been a rare sight over the previous 2 seasons.

Thought he took his goal really well. Another youngster who looks to have lots of potential. Here's his goal that started the fightback. The video on Insta shows the good work from Joz in the build-up. The tweet only shows the pass.

That was a tactical swap with Hutchinson after about 25 mins. He (and us) controlled the game from that point on.
In England we need to rid ourselves of the concept that a deep lying midfielder needs to be a tough tackling defensive one.
That position is where you want your best passer, the one who is most comfortable on the ball.
Played alongside Shinnie (or Bird eventually) he would be great there.
