Mawene played his best football at Preston, undoubtedly, possibly had the most impressive spell at CB of any player at this level, certainly since the rebranding. He was outstanding in that Billy Davies team.
a few that come to mind for me unsurprisingly from the promotion season: Leacock, Jones, Lupoli, Seth, Barnes - even the likes of Addison, Nyatanga, Mills, Lee Holmes - plenty of academy players to pick through that fell off a cliff.
Callum Ball sprung to mind

Weirdly I was watching his podcast about leaving Watford last night, said he never wants to be a GK coach, which is a shame because you're right I think he'd be brilliant

Kind of torn on Flint (unless Davies leaves, in which case absolutely 100%).
If Davies is still around then is he replacing Cashin? Definitely an upgrade but would be a shame to drop down any youngsters who've performed in the championship. If we keep the bulk of this squad together, we should do well in league 1 whilst giving the youngsters game time

Not exactly world beaters, but off the top of my head Lingard, Bamford and Michael Keane went on to achieve a lot more than you'd have thought to see them with us
Feels like cheating to pick player who'd been brilliant but were old when they reached us, ala Rooney, arguably Bent etc

They don't have to stay with us just because they sign a contract. If they are good enough they will still get an offer it's just that we would get a fee.
But the team they're signing for will look at the total cost of the transfer all in, so any money saved on a transfer fee will mostly find its way to Malcom and his agent
So, for example let's say a player could be signed for £1.5million or free, on a 3 year contract. The free version frees up £1.5m, so they can offer the player higher wages, 500,000 extra in the players pocket a year
That's why so many top players are running contracts down now and therefore demanding even more mega money, and why big players signed on frees end up on ridiculous wages (see Aaron Ramsey as an example off the top of my head)

Does it?

There should be a big, local organisation who could borrow the money to do this, then maybe all Derby residents could pay it back over time, maybe via a small portion of their local taxes?
Just a thought

Link not working now weirdly.
But yes, if you don't want to progress here, bye bye

No they'll probably accept it, sign off on it and find fault with it 2-3 years down the line.
I wonder how many comments join this one in that elite catagory in getting all 6 available reactions

Everton must have the most, in their coaching staff alone they have about 4, plus Keane as mentioned above
Can we have the most tangential links for those who don't currently have a former Ram? Eg, Brentford have David Raya, who had an excellent game against us on loan at Southport I believe in that cup game

Izale McLeod. Another one who looked decent in his early days. Still had a decent enough career though.
I think I need a hobby ??
Worst thing is, the other day I thought "should do Izale McLeod, he'd be interesting"... Then I didn't get it until I saw your answer ?

I agree - and get quite low when I think about it.
Then I think that, in 7 days time, I will be watching Derbyshire play cricket.
How, in their current situations, did I manage to be the combination of a DCFC fan and a Yorkshire cricket supporter?!? No escapism for me

How many minutes per day do Quantuma actually spend working on the Derby County "case"? Do they have other clients to deal with? Do they work like a solicitor where they take the file out of the draw, spend half an hour on it then put it away again until another day?
Yes they do, I happen to have some tangential relationship with another business, which they happen to be in the process of liquidating
For what it's worth... That process is not moving quickly either
