£5 to watch on RAMSTV with no audio option on my audio subscription is a bit of a micky take

In all seriousness (ish), if the club believe for example Brown, who did well yesterday and others will know better than me, will be ready to feature in the squad regularly in a year or 2, it makes sense to have a year or 2 option now, who will likely then move on to be replaced by the youngster
That's one thing Morris correctly said... He never did it, but he did say it

Tbf we've lost McGoldrick, Davies, Stearman, Chester...our new signings might be older but some of those leaving are bordering on care in the community

Brighton, a club in Europe, do not want Eiran Cashin. As much as I love the lad, that’s just silly.
If (massive if) it's true then I think you're still correct. If (still massive if) it's true, it means Brighton (a team with excellent and part data driven talent ID) have identified that Cashin, after 1/2 seasons loans and the label of Brighton player rather than league 1 player will represent a substantial profit

Why announce Friday at bedtime?
Another sensible one. Tons of Championship experience, has been in promoted teams, free transfer, 2 year deal, captain material.
Bloody awful tattoos mind, but maybe that's just me...
Tbf sealed Tuesday, but they were waiting for the weather to turn back so they could roll out the Sonny day jokes

No. They have to be English, playing in England, not switched allegiances (ie an Englishman switching to Ireland/Wales), and they only have to feature in 1 game.
What this means is that someone coming off the bench for the final minute of the final game of the season scores the same as Max Bird who is almost ever present.
Also, DRobinson, Cybulski, Stretton, Cashin, Ebosele and Knight all played in the league for us in 21/22 but none of them count towards the productivity rankings.
Buchanan counted last season but doesnt now due to playing abroad, even if it is at a level equal to the PL. Delap counts for us this season (split with Man City), but if he ever chooses to represent Ireland, he'll stop being counted.
Just to add to the not counted, Hendrick and Timi-max

A very good, highly reputable appointment. Perception plays a huge part in football and a hire of this magnitude should ease some minds that the academy is looking to progress and the club is willing to invest - despite our League One status.
He still has to prove he’s a good appointment, of course, but good work by the club to get him in.
Particularly in the academy, attracting players who may have a choice of academies. This is a really impressive appointment imo, and hopefully shows potential recruits that our youth system will be back on track soon enough

We were offering more money. He didn't leave for financial reasons.
Exactly, he learned last summer as he described waiting for calls that never came, that if he signed 1 year with us theres no guarantees he'd have offers again in a years time. Take the 2 years whilst it's there

So there should be as well - experienced championship and international player who can play in many positions and definitely our most sellable asset and has been injury free - us being a third division club is irrelevant and we should be getting big money for him and obviously I would want him to stay but Clowes didn’t buy Derby county because he wanted a football club so we have to be self financing for Warne to get us promoted.
Given what certain clubs can afford to spend on a sub who may have a high ceiling, he may fetch more than we thought
He's an ideal sub/rotation for a higher team, he's versatile, he brings energy (in defence or attack depending what role he's put in), my impression is when he wasn't starting for us he carried on working hard and didn't sulk, and same when he was playing out of position at rb

Quite a lot of age related comments, isn't he a good 6 years younger than didzy, 3 years younger than Collins?
Yes we need more of the bulk of our squad in that age profile, but got to work around who we can get in. Maybe if didzy leaves we'll replace with younger as well and everyone complaining about May's age will presumably be happy, but then we'll definitely need a goalscorer regardless of anything else

This. We used the least amount of players in the league last year. We fell down due to depth, that's what this signing would bring. Squad depth at an affordable price. That's what we need.
And included within those used were Steargoat (love him but were obviously trying to avoid using him), Osula (didn't have after Jan), Chester (hardly available) and Springett (avoided using nearly as much as Steargoat by the end)
The players we were regularly able and willing to use was even fewer

Is this his 1st full season as a number 1? Always remember him being 1st choice for half a season every season. Full season as settled number 1 in front of fans who have faith in him has improved him, who'd have thought

Tell you what, looking at the retained list really hits home we did so well to get that close to the play offs. Small squad, partly boosted by some loans (partly as I'm not sure all our loans qualify as boosts)
No natural rb as such
3 of our 4 natural CBs now deemed surplus to requirements shows how short we were in that area (that's not an insult to the 3, we all love Davies and Steargoat)
Of our 2 LBs, one seconded to CB the other has played more football as a CB than a LB
Definitely gives us a lot to build on

Who doesn't love a testimonial?
We're letting go of a lot of experience in defence, if we're going to keep one experienced defender around, Fozzy makes sense with his versitility

Lamps certainly seemed more successful with Morris than without, never sure how much you can read into that
Could say similar with Gerrard with/without Beale, and Beale has gone one to be successful in his early days in management

Cashin? U21 call ups count I believe, as they're still leaving you short

Just been catching up with the palace youth academy documentary on chan 4. Nice little series. Always watch things like that with Derby in my mind. Thinking about the journey of someone like max bird. From being a kid scouted to captain of the first team. That must be the dream there (Although I'm sure a big money move to a prem side might mow have taken thet place)
Got me enthusiastic about our academy. So, those with knowledge, who is the kids or kids to be excited about down the age groups (if we can name the players, not sure what restrictions are on naming youth players)
Who's the next on the production line?
I missed that documentary, what's it called?

Can see how this ref hasn't given a single red this season
Proper wiff of "get this done as quickly as possible with no controversial, brave calls, then move on
