Quite - Makes me feel good that we'll call out fellow fans. That may sound sarcastic, it isn't, it's right and proper that this is done.
Agreed, a lot of the time as football fans we're good at calling out rival fans and ignoring our own fans. Glad it's being called out
For all the clubs faults, I get the impression they've dealt with things like this well (see the clubs very strong statement over Craig Ramage comments) so hopefully those fans will not be returning

Not sure i can accept him whilst his shirt says “RAVEL” and not his surname!
Be interesting to know why (get asking @Owen87ITK) if there's a reason. Dele Ali's reason for going with Dele for example

I was glad to see Rooney specifically mention post-match his ability to manage RM. Good to see him take responsibility for the potential challenge he's signing up to

Fair play! If that was last year's senior team 2-0 down after 25mins against anyone, I think they lose 3/4-0.
Hopefully something changing in our mentality, even if its only changing in the youngsters

One of our few players who based on last season who should be looking at higher teams than us if anything. Not going to league 1

With the new fashion (god that makes me sound old) for having and older professional as a player coach for the U23s, he could be a good fit for, say, Spurs U23s
-
Yeah put the time into helping him adapt to a new country, improve his English language skills (both of which he told The Athletic he struggled with initially), give him game time in a league he clearly needs to do work to adapt to, then pie him off after 1 game of his 2nd season
-
If he did everything he did yesterday just to troll fans knowing he was going to sign, then I take back everything I've ever thought about him and he'll be great for the club....
....but let's be honest, he didn't

Confused why we have 3 defenders (admittedly one is Festy), 2 DMs but no Stretton on the bench?
We plan on taking the lead and parking the bus?

Seems a very strange thing to do (mention another clubs player by name, publicly)
Rooney must be extremely confident of getting this done, otherwise he’s going to look a right tit.
I know, can you imagine Rooney getting himself into a situation where he looks a bit silly?
-
I don't doubt he would but, based on Utd fans Twitter reactions (definitely solid evidence) to his pre-season performances, he should come here and thank us.
Based on Tomori and Clarke's improvements from when they joined us to when they left, if I was a young CB I wouldn't say no to a Derby loan

Has he been offered chances down the divisions that have been rejected and fails to mention?
Must be hard for any football to accept that when you have played at the very top.
I personally don’t see many offers in this country due to the unique role he would play in a team.
Not looking to knock the guy with any of this, just how I see it
I guess once you say "I've had offers but they were all League 1 or 2" you label yourself a League 1 or 2 player
I wouldn't be surprised if he had offers on the table similar to ours, player-coach with plenty of the money being appearance based, sad watching a former England international touting himself around like a journeyman really

Not a good sign when the team who are willing to give Ravel Morrison another chance are sick of you

Save your money. We’ll finish above Boro, Forest and Bristol City rattling half the Championship as Jozwiak and Bielik tear them all a new one.
It’s written in the stars.
If that happens I'm going to dedicate so much energy to seeking out the fan I used to sit in front of who'd spend HT every week talking about the Polish coming over here etc etc

Hopefully Rooney's going to start using his high profile to start drawing more attention to the EFL damaging the integrity of their own competition by not allowing us to sign frees to fill our squad. Got to be one of the advantages of having a big name as manager, if he wants something to hit the headlines he can

Seems a shame. His set pieces didn't account for THAT many goals, but nor did the entirety of our attacking play put together, so his contribution seemed worthwhile
-
I'd definitely put these, and all our trialists in fairness, firmly in the "worth a look" category.
The thing about having so few senior pros is we can bring a lot of free agents in for a closer look. If the coaching staff don't like the looks they'll get a polite "thanks but no thanks". But like a few have said look at CKR, none of us really wanted him but the staff watched him train for a few weeks and knew he could do a job.
None of these are the promotion push players we're used to being after, but does anyone think we're honestly aiming for anything beyond staying up, ideally drama free?

Return to the early Nigel Clough years. As long as there's enough support to drag us out of the current dregs and start some sensible building with an actual plan. At least there's a pretty clean slate in terms of squad.
The NG years but with the addition of our improved facilities and academy... Pretty solid base to build from I'd say

Doesn't the U16 season normally finished really early? I'm guessing they normally have exams etc a lot of them

Seems odd calling him trialist then telling us he scored. Strong result though

This might be a daft question (and certainly one I could ask on about 8 different threads) but if we loan a player out, do the no long count towards our quota?
Simpson has looked decent enough and has potential, but right now if we could loan him out and that allow us to bring in an additional CB or ST, surely that would make sense if embargo limits remained
