Jimbo Ram got a reaction from LauraH in MPs meet Quantuma update tweet 19/01
If there is some kind of compromise it will come very late in the day and prevent us doing anything in the transfer window…..

I’d be intrigued to know the stance of other football clubs in the Championship on this.
For example from 2017-2021 Reading breached FFP, in the 17/18 season they stayed up by 3 points at the expense of Barnsley and Burton. This has as much merit as Wycombe’s claim, so why not ask Barnsley and Burton why they aren’t trying to do the same to Reading?
I guarantee that if Boro and Wycombe are successful in any way, then Burton and Barnsley will be making claims.
It’s a can of worms…

As an accountant who has known many (and is married to one) it is not generally a profession renowned for great verbal extrovert communicators. It attracts certain characters usually. They are finance professionals and its unfair to compare their communications, if they are by nature traditional accountants, with slick PR machines from the EFL and other clubs. I would rather have bad communicators who know their stuff and get a job done than slick salesmen type accountants who generally lack substance, attention to detail, technical skills and brains.
can you not see what the efl, boro and WW are doing with their statements - trashing the admins. Its a coordinated stance which based on the comments here is working!

The money we need to survive to the end of the season. I would rather take one big hit on Knight rather than sell 6 or 7 for 400k each….

Selling a player for 450k fixes nothing. I suspect the admins are banking on selling Knight for a proper bit of scratch, sacrifice our best boy to preserve the rest of the squad.

If it means either Derby going under or paying, just pay it however they can, over 5 or 10 years maybe, its hitting me hard and my mental health, always on my mind, now my 8 year old son likes watching Derby and that could be took away from him.
Please admin sort it now!

The interviews on radio Derby absolutely stunk to high heaven. The Wycombe chairman clearly hasn't got a clue but wasn't challenged, you've got Rick Parry being leveraged into this position by Middlesbrough by his own admission and you've got our administrators going into full on radio silence. It's just so utterly depressing and yet enraging at the same time.

Would that solution satisfy the potential new owners?

The EFL know we have three potential buyers, they've seen evidence of this.
They don't need to see proof of funds on Feb 1st - they made that deadline up, drop it.
Facilitate a quick arbitration process? Update their Insolvency rules to be inline with the law and allow 'cross cramming' (or whatever it is).
There are probably a fair few other ways the EFL could be flexible.

Good post, you beat me to it. I don’t currently have a solution. If their case is tested I would hope it will be thrown out but how long will the process take? One option would be for the EFL to extend their deadline by a month for us to provide proof of funds. Not sure how this will pan out……

I think an extension to show proof of funds will likely happen. But I think Q probably need to take some action evidencing they are doing their best to do so, not just sitting and hoping it all falls into place...

Wayne Rooney seems to have learned quite a bit about what not to do when you start off in management from Frank Lampard's time at Derby.
Hopefully that includes not rushing off to one of the big clubs until you're ready!

There's endless precedent in EFL cases about not being able to correlate overspending with specific footballing outcomes. You simply cannot argue that one team breaching rules directly affects the results/league position of any other team.
That covers the confidentiality issue they moan about too. We don't need to know what their actual claims are. If they are claiming that their league position was affected by our overspending, then there's no case to answer, regardless of how they are claiming we 'cheated'.

Thank god at least some decent MPs survived 2019. Hopefully Ms Beckett can put her power and influence to good use!
