This is an argument that Lewis cropping up with line decisions, wether for offside with var or goaline.
People suggest allowing a tolerance rather than the strict line as is currently used. How many times have you heard a player being only 1cm offside or the ball being the thickness of the leather from not over the line? Many feel that you cannot give the decision when it is so close, but a line has to be drawn somewhere.
If we were to make it offside only if you're 10cm past the defender, then we'll have the same problems when a player is 11cm past a player. No, there had to be a cut off and that cut off must adhere to the laws of the game.
Remember, there are 2 teams involved in all these decisions, why should they be altered to suit the attacking side.

Over the last 40 years, we have supported the club through thick and thin in fantastic numbers, especially when the going has got though.
Other clubs of similar sizes have never competed with us, when their team had been in a similar position, with the exception of Sunderland.
The struggling times in the championship  the old second division in the early 80s have always had attendances matching or generally bettering those teams going for promotion.
We couldn't fill an Anfield even we won the premier, but we have had a large hardcore, who will follow then through adversity.
How many times do you see teams that have just been relegated to from full houses to barely half full stadiums over night?
Just think how high our average attendance would be, if we hadn't had the debacle over the ticket office early season

What defines DCFC the same as many if not all football clubs...The Fans
Players, Managers, Owners, Agents all move on, The Fans stay, Yes some will stop going but the club will be close by in their heart, Some maybe unable to go, But they'll follow their score once kick off starts, We take holidays when our teams games are away, Ceremonies are put off until close season, Shirts are worn with pride, We introduce friends and very close family members, We'll argue our case against those who see "cheating" we put off that important dinner/engagement as Sky have moved the game.
I doubt very much there's not one person on here that hasn't been affected in some shape or form since following DCFC from the above...and more, Yes a club is defined by it's fans alright.

Think you’ll find the process will move fast now to further confirm that Gibson WAS the main stumbling block and until last week was pushing our club closer to extinction with his completely and utterly ridiculous claim which most of the football world disagrees with.
Completely understand why Boro fans laud him. As an owner of your club he has given you incredible backing and stood behind you for 35+ years, he bankrolled you to a league cup win and a European final. I can’t think of a more committed owner in all my years of being a football supporter.
But the way he has pursued this vendetta against Derby has been disgraceful, the only thing possibly more disgusting is how the EFL has allowed him to do it. Saint Gibson was not trying to save football with his Stance he wanted to win his battle of egos with Mel Morris. Therefore while he has been an incredible owner for Boro, to Derby supporters he will always be the devil incarnate.

I had the privilege and the pleasure on Monday to meet up at Seven restaurant in Derby with some DCFC royalty.
I had been approached by a national newspaper (not the sun) sports reporter to ask if i could assist him in inviting some of the legends of the 1971/72 team, they are not just legends of Derby County but 1970s football in general, household names in the footballing world until this day and men of god for those who follow Derby County and forever revered in these parts.
What he wanted to do was to something that nobody else in the press seems bothered about and that is to bring the story of what those players did under the auspices and guidance of Brian Clough & Peter Taylor into the headlines and to freshen up and relive the story.
It has been such bad timing that the club is in such a mess that it can not honour these fine gentleman (another victim of the poor management of our club) so i was more than happy to get them together and sit in on what was a great three hours spent over lunch and a couple of drinks in a private room reliving not just that season but the seasons that followed.
its not for me to tell the stories as that honour falls to the reporter and in should be in print a little nearer the end of the season but needless to say there were some funny moments, some very honest and truthful moments and some sad moments.
Kevin was supposed to join us but had to pull out at the last minute but he was ably covered by the others, Messrs Mcfarland, Durban, Gemmill and O'Hare !
50 years ago they were Champions of England and will be forever Champions of Derby !

It's time for Derby to commence legal action against the EFL, the other clubs that have remained silent throughout this process will be hit in the pocket.
Why? Because it's the right thing to do to protect the game we all love. We cannot allow the EFL to continue as they are. Sooner we have an independent regulator the better.
They have broken the agreement that prevents clubs from taking action against each other, reg 4.4
They have failed to take action against both Middlesbrough and Wycombe under reg 3.5 which prevents clubs from unfairly criticising, disparaging, belittling or discrediting any other Club.
They are ignoring the Arbitration Act 1996 with regards to insolvency and the football creditor status, attempting to push this through arbitration regulations, ignoring 4.4.
Surely we have more grounds than any of the clubs that have threatened legal action.
With the above we have been forced to sell assets for a low fee as we were prevented by offering contracts. We have incurred additional administration costs, which will increase the purchase price of the club, potentially forcing us into liquidation if the cost continues to rise.
With that it's 3am and the dog is looking at me, I can feel the questioning why are we not going to bed with his eyes.
Feel free to rip apart any of tonight's rants, I'm not a legal expert, far from it, but I am capable of reading and processing words.

Technically speaking, after tonight's result, I believe that we're out of the bottom 3 on a points per game basis for the first time this season.

It shows what the new tactic should be. Massively over spend by 50 million, then accept a 6 point punishment down the line.

I think it would be well deserved.

If it wasn't for the fact that the EFL treated reading leniently, because they accepted their punishment, by giving them only a6 point penalty target than 9 points, we'd only be 1 point back now.
I hope that this doesn't come back to bite us at the end of the season. But then we could sue reading for not getting the correct penalty.

Just a suggestion for the EFL rather than keep moving the goalposts, as confirmed by tweets for current dcfc employees, if Gibson does not take up MMs offer what about charging Middlesbrough of bringing the game into disrepute by bringing baseless charges against a league founding member. Either he takes MMs offer up or he is making it up and causing unfounded mental anguish on dcfc staff and fans

Presumably if the two clubs don’t take up MMs offer then he could indemnify the bidders against any costs resulting from the claims thereby removing the perceived risk to the new owners.

This is one of the many areas where the EFL rules fail, you can't own 2 clubs in this country but there's nothing to stop you owning clubs in 2 countries and many owners have exploited this already. So Udinese can sign festy without paying any compo and then loan him to play for Watford next season.

If the club gets new owners in the next month, I think that we'll be able to sign free agents, building the squad up to an agreed maximum level.

That compensation added to the Plange fee would probably be near enough to see this season out. It's sickening to think that not only did he get full pay whilst recovering from his own drunken excesses, he also was getting full pay from us whilst playing for another club.

A really good comment from the BBC piece that @angieram posted above.

But as much as the march was an attack on those they feel have done their club down, this was really about the support of a football club. Thousands marched in support of their club. From the brow of the hill that goes over the railway line the snake of humanity stretched as far as the eye could see, forwards and back. There was no demographic. Male and female, old and young, middle-aged parents and stylish supporters in their early 20s.
Generations of fans made their point peacefully. All walking behind a banner proclaiming: "Founder Member of the Football League. 138 Years of Football Heritage. Save Derby County."

It's a joke really that Gibson is blaming Derby for them not getting in the play offs. The very same 'cheating' Derby that got them automatic promotion in the 15/16 season when they finished level on points with Brighton, having taken 4 points off Derby, whilst Brighton only managed 2 points.

Looking at it in a positive way, it stops the cliff edge happening on Monday whereby the administrators have to have a firesale of players, in order to complete the season. Now they have an extra month to raise the funds elsewhere. If the situation can be resolved during February then we will then be able to sign free agents and offer new contracts to existing players.
