There is no point Administrators getting rid of him unless he agrees to go and waives his contract. He has a contract that has to be honoured if he insists on it, something classed by the EFL as a footballing debt. Putting him on gardening leave is not really an option.  I hope he stays, and agrees voluntarily to a reduction of salary commensurate with the average wage paid to Managers in the Championship.  He deserves to see this season/his contracted period out, and let’s see how he galvanises the team given all the restrictions that will be put upon him.

Putting aside Rooney's wages and the financial questions to one side.
Seeing Rooney walk would be a disaster, it really would, not that I would blame him for a second if he was to walk, from a selfish point of view I hope his loyalty will not be tested by all of this.
For those wanting Rooney out, just think for a second, we're entering admin, the clubs future is unknown, how many experienced managers will look and think this is a great opportunity?
How many will walk in and have knowledge of our squad, the likes of Dylan Williams, Jack Stretton, Festy Ebosele, these are not household names but are now tasked with playing a part in turning round a minimum of -5 points.
Regardless of fans thoughts on Rooney, his tactics, his misdemeanours off the pitch, performances this season have improved.
If his fight and loyalty can rub off on the players we stand a far better chance with him than without.
Surely even those that want him gone can see now is not the time. Even if you can't show him any love, at least be able to tolerate him.
Thankfully in the ground he's been given incredible support so far this season, that HAS to continue and would be nice to see it extended online here and across social media to help create the siege mentality needed to stand any chance of staying up.

I have a great deal of sympathy for the staff and local businesses but i think they have already been affected by not being paid.
I remember B4 querying why the roadrider wasn't running and he was told it was to do with Covid and the city council saying they couldn't run. Why the city council should need to or have reason to be involved in a private charter is nonsense, more likely the coach operator was still waiting for outstanding debts to be settled and politely told the club to pay up or go away.
As @angieram said at the time the Alfreton area coach was running but that wasn't contracted to the club.

The writing has been on the wall for a very long time. So much chatter about the EFL and amortisation, and other non-cash flow issues. Like any business, paying debt as it falls due is a good yardstick as to the health of a football club, and the competence of its owner. This was an inevitable outcome. I hope somehow the Administrators can evidence some personal liability against the directors, and of course Morris in particular. He shouldn’t be allowed to comfortably watch the clear up process.

The thing is, as I stated, it wasn't the club who needed to call me. They all felt the same, scared and worried and have been for months.
We needed Stephen or Mel to come out publically, they didnt and look. We should have pushed harder for it harder hence my head in the sands comments. Far to many stuck by him blindly.

A few thoughts from a fitful night's sleep:
Mel wanted to push FFP/P&S to the limit. He also spent significantly on items that were FFP exempt, like the academy and the infrastructure. It seemed that he wanted to use his vast wealth to drive the club into the Premier League.
That was fair enough; it was his money and his train set. Now he's walking away from the club he loves and putting its very existence in jeopardy, because he's having to put £1.5 million per month in? That is a very large u-turn. Why?

Assuming the MSD thing comes to nothing and we go into administration, we get a 12 point penalty. I believe that's fair enough. It stops clubs from using it as a relatively easy way to walk away from debts, as has happened in the past.
What I'm struggling to see the point of is a two year transfer embargo. You can't argue against an embargo whilst in administration; a club without the cash to pay its way can't be allowed to increase its costs. However, the key for the club to survive is that a buyer is found quickly. An ongoing embargo is going to make selling the club as a going concern far more difficult. Surely the embargo should be lifted as soon as the football and hmrc debts are paid and the CVA is in place? It seems to me that this EFL rule is one which could easily drive a founder member to extinction.

Finally, what we need now is a buyer. As fans, we need buyers to see our potential. Everyone knows that Rooney and the players are blameless here and deserve our support. I suspect that today's atmosphere will be excellent.
What I think would help secure the future of Derby County would be big home gates over the next couple of months. The administrators will need cash to pay the bills, otherwise the doors slam shut. But if we can pack the stadium,  it will also send a message that we are a club worth buying. So please, everyone who can, get yourselves to the next few games.

Utter drivel. He might have fans supporting him if he allowed them to have something like the full information. Has RamsTrust had any response yet to their letter, of what, 2 weeks ago? Some of our supporter groups know something from the meeting a month ago, but probably only greatly sanitised information, but they are not even able to speak about that. The EFL might be our enemy, but Morris is doing very little to engender any fan loyalty or support in my book.

What can I say… So disappointed in the hierarchy at DCFC.
As people have said, some of my best days following this club have been in the old 3rd tier.. Different times I know but still great away days.  There are some BIG clubs in League 2, it could be good for us fans.
We are in a mess, we’ve been in a mes before.. Hopefully we can survive and put Morris well behind us.. No more, he’s local, he’s one of our own bollx.. Means nothing, absolutely nothing..
Ive said before, my love for football is declining quickly. Not just because of our situation but the PL, Champions League, money oriented bull poo. It’s not about us anymore, it’s about money. I suppose that is the world nowadays but to be honest, you can keep it.. Players kiss the badge, owners show up when time are good and disappear when it gets tough.. No honesty in pro football now.. It’s all false and I hate it..
I read this forum and feel for those who are starting out, those who it still means a lot to.. Even David, who runs a great forum but still has to make a living from it.. I see the DCFC adds have gone now, I hope it’s not too much of a hit for him. B4, absolutely gutted for him. It’s not the end mate, just a new chapter.. I know you will keep the faith but this is going to hit him hard. It’s not so much the EFLs fault fella (although they have stuck the knife in), it’s Morris, end of.

60 years old and been through most things with this club. I wish I could say I’m numb, I have been through most of his reign but to be honest… I’m absolutely gutted for the staff, the fans, the creditors and anyone else who truly love this poxy club..

When you've lived with the slow decline from 76 just as the gumps were on the up, through to the 3rd division relegation, Maxwell etc its hard to see it as the worst but it may well turn out to be yet. Strangely though, some of the best memories are of those years followed by the promotions.
You won't get a ticket to away games next season for love nor money!

A statement full of lies and untruths. At the final hour Mel Morris could not find it within himself to admit at least some responsibility. He was the custodian of this great club, he had a duty of care to the club and the community.
