An interview with me will be on Radio Derby between 6 and 7 this evening. I'm not going to go into the gift a ticket idea, just going to encourage people to go and bring others

Convinced an old mate to get a ticket for Reading. He generally makes about 3 games a season but he's committed to home games until Christmas at least.
I reckon he'll get the bug and be chasing away fans back to the station in no time. He's 62.

I shall be there with my fellow Leeds Ram workmate - we've got an Outlook reminder at 4.30pm for a 2 hour 'budget review', location his car...
Happy also to fund a couple of other tickets  ?

I haven’t logged on here for a year because it got so toxic. It’s great to see everyone pulling together now in such a serious situation.

Nice work @sageI woke up despondant but this (and B4's posts) have fired me up. Im in, I won't be able to get the train home, unless I leave at half time, so I'll have to stay at my mum's house. The last time I had this sort of feeling about a game was Ted's testimonial.
My Mrs is struggling to get the whole tribal thing, but the tribe has called. COYR

Looks like it is at 9751 at the moment, just bought a ticket as not been able to until now.
If anyone is struggling financially at the moment I'm happy to fund a few tickets for people (3-5), don't be shy just let me know

I doubt he can possibly stay in the long term but he’s shown himself as a real football man and a decent bloke beyond the human frailties that we all have. Many were questioning his tactical nous, but for me any failings have been down to either better or physically stronger opponents rather that a fundamental misreading of the game. One thing that is cast iron and completely priceless is that he has succeeded in getting his team to play for him. Not just to turn up and go through the motions, but to sweat blood for the cause. He has been helped by the return of the fans who have been noisier, more loyal, less moaning than I can ever remember, even at the height of Mac 1. Whatever the reasons he has galvanised some age hardened old pros and some young lads who with another manager could have been rudderless and overwhelmed.
It is strange, he never comes across in interviews as anything other than an ex pro, lacking a little in words, schmooz and passion but not everyone is a “performer” in front of a microphone. He clearly knows how to transmit a message to the guys on the field of play. He’s done a cracking job with a lousy hand. Whatever happens in the future and regardless of his win stats he deserves a big well done for being, as they say in Derby .. Sound !

I think he did well there.
As much as we can hope for an owner who has billions, it’s not realistic. They all want us at the cheapest price and know that administration is the best way to do that. They’ve forced Mel’s hand and he knows that long term this is the best for the club. Also Mel knows the EFL will never give us a fair run without him gone.
He’s never set out to ruin the club and I’m fairly certain if any of us had the money he had we would have tried to do the same.
The amortisation part was a risk, but the EFL didn’t say a word for years and we were conforming to the financial standards. How someone that is not an accountant gets the final say over an accountant I’ll never know.
As much as everyone can say covid can’t be used as an excuse, it’s had a massive contribution towards it. Our turnover was one of the largest in the championship, probably the biggest of clubs that don’t get parachute payments. We’ve been hit harder than any other club and the timing of Covid came at the end of our big spending.
Interesting what he said about only 2 teams that have been promoted since P&S was brought in have not broken the rules. Shows how broken the system is.
We beat Villa at Wembley and none of this ever happens.

Couldnt find original thread but perhaps mods can merge. Terrible night but I have been heartened by the huge number of supportive messages under clubs posts and elsewhere from fans of other clubs tonight. Not for the board etc but towards us as fans and Derby as a football club separate to its ownership. Thanks to those genuine football fans

    Rams players 'had no information'
..."I spoke to (chief financial officer) Stephen Pearce after, but initially I saw it on the TV," Rooney said.
"This morning it was a bit flat because, by me not getting all the information, the players had no information and they saw it on Sky as well.
"I haven't spoken with Mel. I am sure he has got other things on his mind.
"I've had no contact with Mel for a while now so it's been very difficult for me to address the fans when I don't know what the situation is.
"All we can do is play with a lot of pride. My job is to bring some dignity back to the club.
"I've said a few times I'm committed to this club and to the group of players and the staff, I care about them, so I'll keep doing everything I can to help us get through this.
"I think we will get through this for the better. We are going to have tough times ahead in the near future but it's my job now to start rebuilding this club and trying to put it back together."

I think you’re being a little unfair and don’t think that makes @B4ev6is sound selfish. He, and his dad, may not be too pleased with paying that price and may well sympathise with those that can’t afford it but he is just saying he will go regardless.

I know not everyone would have heard them, and wouldn’t be able to repeat it word for word, but thought Ed Dawes’ comments before the game about Roos were out of order and glad Roos shut him up tonight.
We know Roos isn’t perfect, but he grew into the game and obviously kept us in it. Also I’m not anti Ed, although sometimes I do think he needs to give his head a shake, but that wasn’t professional.

Toilets and concourse are effectively indoors, albeit admittedly well ventilated/draughty!
Seats may be covered, but effectively outside.
The point in wearing the masks in the first place is that we agree to, when buying a ticket.

Personally, being so close to so many for such a prolonged period, I’d feel a tad more comfortable for all to be wearing a mask even in the seats, for the duration of the game, but that ain’t gonna happen!
Before returning, I weighed up the pros and cons, and based on the rules (supporters COVID charter or some such title?) I decided to go for it.
Now knowing that the COVID charter isn’t worth the web page it’s written on, I’ve weighed up the pros and cons, and still decided to go for it!
Not 100% comfortable with it, but then I’m not 100% comfortable with the style of football/results/club politics either, but still keep going!
”A fool and his football club”, they do say!
I do however, find it all rather exciting and exhilarating, wondering whether l will die of COVID first, or see my beloved football club become extinct first!
“The thrill of not knowing”, they do say!  ??

I’d be happier if we all abided by the rules (which we all agree to as part of the ticket purchase transaction), and also for the club to police it.
Mask wearing through the turnstiles, concourse, toilets and stairs  has been almost non existent, from what I’ve seen. To the point where I feel the freak, keeping mine on until I get to my seat!
It matters not who agrees or disagrees. It’s part of the deal!
