I think if Buchanan is fit, which hopefully he is with him being photo'd at training, I think our starting 11 is still decent enough to beat Huddersfield, its the bench that would be weak.
Forsyth has shown he can do a decent enough job at CB for a couple of games, its just who partners him that would be my concern. Cashin would probably do alright as a one off but he would take up a 'professional standing' space so would be unlikely to be used unless the HMRC embargo is close to removal and professional standing changes to established players so Cashin wouldnt count.
Could be that if we dont use Cashin or bring anyone else in the choices are Bird at CB (1), Buchanan CB with Shinnie LB (2) or Byrne CB with Ebosele RB (3)

If we can get these signings done then I take it as a massive positive because these 8 lads have turned down other offers in some instances because they want to come here and be a part of it. That’s a great start.

This weekend the eyes of the football world will be on the Rams. Absolutely no point in turning up to protest - that would just be a huge shot in the foot. The situation is what it is. My little input regarding the academy involvement.
When Mel took over, he started investing heavily in the academy, which he knew would take a number of years to bear fruit. Investment went into the first team in his 2nd season, which theoretically wouldn't impact the long term prospects of the academy. Involvement of fringe academy players was reduced under certain managers (Pearson, Rowett). I believe Mel has previously suggested he was misled during the interview process Academy products were involved a lot last season, but Buchanan and Sibley in particular should have been used a lot more than they were Minutes given to academy graduates in the league

15/16, Pearce/Shackell - Signed both at the same time (4 and 3 year deals respectively), only for Shackell to play in the first season and Pearce to play in the second, with minimal involvement in the other seasons. Why didn't we sign just 1 of them, with Rawson in reserve? 15/16, Olsson - Warnock and Forsyth already at the club with Lowe on the fringes 15/16, Blackman/Camara - We already had Ince, Russell and Weimann, with Bennett on the fringes 16/17, Anya - We already had Ince, Russell, Weimann, Blackman and Camara on the wings. One of the most pointless signings of all time. 18/19, Malone/Cole - Forsyth and Lowe. We also had McDonald on the fringes. 18/19, Jozefzoon - With Wilson, Lawrence, Waghorn and Bennett already as options, we should have given minutes to LThomas, McAllister or JML 19/20, Hamer/Dowell/Paterson - all pointless loans  

Mel knows better than every manger he’s hired according to himself. You cant just flood a team with academy graduates, you have to blend it with experience and bed then in gently, not just throw them to the wolves!!

The fella has gone above and beyond his duty, after all he's just the owner of the most popular DCFC forum, not a spokesperson for the fans.
It would have been so easy to either send someone else, or decline the invitation outright, and no one would have called him for that, in fact I'd guess some people would praise him for a principled action, and not being cowed by a NDA.
Instead he's put himself out, travelled a decent distance, by crappy public transport, and attended what was probably not a particularly pleasant meeting so he can report back to us whatever he's found out, yet he still gets knocked.
Tbh, if I were him, I'd switch the forum off once I got home and let everyone stew.

People complained about the NDA and the attendees being gagged, so they've chosen to allow the fan groups to report back, and that's still not good enough?

The attendance will look unusual (very low)  to most supporters but we have to recognise that it’s a different world we are now living in 
lots of people will just not want to mix in large crowds for a good while especially this season
lots of people will have been on reduced wages or indeed have lost their jobs in the last 16 months 
lots of people will have found something else to do on a Saturday after not going for the last 16 months 
lots of people will be on holiday somewhere as it’s early August 
far too many could be considered happy clappers and since covid what we have seen it is not happy 
we are down to the bare bones on team selection opportunities 

Hopefully we get some players in tomorrow/thurs which will make a few more thousand decide to turn up with us actually being able to field a decent team

We paid £4m for him, a quarter of what we got for Ince, who didn't produce 8/10 every week. And also here is your problem, you expect him to produce 8/10 performances every week, if he did that he would be at Spurs or Everton or Arsenal. Only the very top players produce 8/10 every week.

As is this. He was very good under Lampard, people only remember Harry "£50m" Wilson, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori (not calling them, they were very good) from that season, but Lawrence also had a good season. He also had a good 2nd half to the 19/20 season. 

I would rather keep him, it’s a massive season for him, trying to get back into the Wales team. If he has a good injury free season, he will win us a few games at least. He has got quality, he just needs to produce it more often and improve his decision making.

Wonder what they have seen at Forest to have them 8th, their squad is weaker than last season & surely this is based off current squads. They also have Reading 4th who are in a mess too.
