On Ashley... I think we could do a lot worse.
He's British, a Billionaire, has experience as a football club owner, has a good track record buying companies out of administration.
It means no mysterious behind the scenes money men, no owners from countries with dubious human rights records, no debt or leveraged buyout.
It's a yes from me.

Why do they bother persisting with their disastrous expectations management?
The continuous stream of confident but wrong predictions are just turning into relentless drivel.... ?
Just shurrup and get it done, then tell us....

I like the idea of our club still being in english hands.

Feels like he's been well minded. I think maybe we've rushed important players back to soon on occasions so hopefully the patience will pay off. Potentially huge player for us once fit and match sharp.

TomG reacted to angieram in Reading FC (A) Matchday Thread
Just got home from another great awayday.
Best bit of the day, that header.
Second best bit of the day, the post-match Radio Berks phone in.
Apparently, they were struggling for match fitness after three weeks rest, whereas we are all up to speed after our three easy wins;
Apparently, they have been badly affected by covid, whereas our club has not;
Apparently, they have been decimated by injuries to the extent that they are having to put academy players on the bench - aah! (Whereas we are having to rely on them in the first team, which they forgot to mention!)
Apparently their players aren't championship standard and are all freebies that no-one else would want.
The radio presenters tended not to agree with the above comments and the programme finished with a rerun of their commentary of the game's goals - over a soundtrack of Britney Spears' "Oops, I did it again". Comedy gold!

If these claims do go to Arbitration, whether a LAP as per EFL rules or via the English Courts, the attempts the parties have made to settle the dispute by other means SHOULD have an influence.
IF the Administrators have genuinely been trying to reach a "no blame" settlement with the two clubs, but have been rebuffed unreasonably, that ought to count in Derby's favour if the tribunal decides that the two claimants have rejected reasonable offers. The Courts nowadays take a dim view of litigants who refuse alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation and I would hope that principle would apply in this case.

I don't think we should give an inch, if we do then a precedent would be set for numerous other claims between various clubs. The EFL would be ruined overnight.
Can we have a lorryful of nice fresh manure delivered to Gibsons front gate?

Huge win. Still an improbably hard task, but the players are giving absolutely everything for the club. We've had better teams over the years, but it's hard not to love this lot.

5 minutes again! Is it obligatory that the refs have to give 5 minutes against us every single game!! Where on earth do they find this time from??

I wonder if there is a Championship table based on Prutton's forecasts anywhere.
Pretty sure Notts Forest would be top of that table.
Seems he doesn't want to upset his old fans by forecasting a defeat for the tree huggers.
And he's not good at forecasting our results either, lol.
