Signing players after 1 stand out performance on a big stage is not a good policy, pay over the market value.
With Byrne and McDonald there, it’s also one of the last positions we need to be spending our limited funds on.

If we are favourites to go down it won’t be because our wingers are the very recently Wales capped Lawrence and the currently playing in the Euros with Poland Jozwiak.
Every football forum in the championship will be saying the same thing about their wingers being frustrating...If either had got 15 goals and 20 assists then they’d be in the prem!

we barely have any players it is, wanting to get rid of the ones we do is madness.

I think even if we could buy and sell, I would keep him. His value is at its lowest right now. He is one of our only attacking outlets as the squad stands. If we pick up, like we all hope, and play better football next season (please!) then Tom’s value will go up again. I’d rather have another season of Tom than grab pittance now that will just go into the black hole.

Just got to meridian. It’s one of the best games I’ve played. It has a touch of skyrim about it which I think is fantastic.

Both can be creative players. Lawrence has the ability, Jozwiak has also shown when player a certain way he can be a threat too (his form for Poland has been good recently) at this level, you can’t complain about having those 2 as your starting wide men. We were the 4th worst team In the league last season. To upgrade every position will be too big an ask. The priority positions have to be centre back and forward, you would imagine. Start there and then think about other positions.

You’re right, the build up to that World Cup was dominated by the ball and vuvuzelas. And ended in heartache as Franks goal should have stood. What could have been!

I remember it turned out a bit of a weird one and clearly countries which had been using the ball in the domestic leagues were more comfortable with it. But mostly I remember it being megahyped up for what was still a football.
But the sweet sweet sound on the vuvuzela was what made that world cup. Perhaps the EFL should make a version?

Do you remember the opening game of the World Cup? Germany beat Costa Rica with Frings scoring a long range goal where the ball moved all over the place. The replays of that kind of justified the hype around that ball for me

They’re going to release a new Lego Star Wars game later this year - the Skywalker Saga. That will be the one to get, as it will incorporate all 9 films. The original Lego Star Wars is quite dated now, originally being released on the PS2. I would go for the Force Awakens game, it’s short but good fun and has loads of replay value. Lego games on console are much better than handheld/iPad versions!
In terms of other Lego games, my 8 year old enjoys Lego Marvel Superheroes 2, Lego Harry Potter and Lego City. There are other Lego games that are worth looking into, but some are better than others.
Lego Worlds is similar to Minecraft but not as good. Minecraft is def worth picking up just for replayability.
Other than that, I would say try Game Pass and check out the family section. It has a bunch of games to try and see which ones stick. My 2 like building zoos on Zoo Tycoon which we found on there. Hope that helps

r4derby got a reaction from DarkFruitsRam7 in 21/22 Season Tickets
To some, the cost of a season ticket is already too big an expense at this time, and so the prospect of another poor season of football may make it a bad acquisition. On the other hand, regardless of which league we are in or who the players we have next season, there will be many who can and should buy season tickets. The fans support will be so important next season, particularly to the younger squad members.
I remember the FA Cup against Chorley. It was fairly poor, and the young lads didn’t really stand a chance...but they still tried and deserved our support.
Me and my dad have got ours sorted for next season, to support whoever plays in the black and white. Hopefully there will be some joining us when we’re allowed back in the ground. If others can no longer commit, then they should feel no shame or judgement. Just make sure we can hear you from wherever you are cheering loudly!

Thanks for the clarification.  Glad I'm not missing out!  ?
They do need to start the ball rolling soon though.  EarlyBird is usually Feb/March isn't it, so already a good couple of months behind normal schedule?  (I usually renew last week of the Early Bird period).
Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of time for us all to make one click on the ticket website before next season, so not exactly panicking, but I seriously doubt it's all going to go through smoothly, what with credits and the like to administer.
...In fact, I think I'll be buying mine in person, face to face over the counter (covid restrictions willing), just to minimise the chances of a potential cocoup!

Sorry, should have clarified. I actually mean that the money is in the bank and ready to buy our seats again when the club announce details. Whatever the situation, there will be a way to watch the Rams next season. Last season was basically a pass to watch the games online. Hopefully this season will be live matches!
You bring up an interesting point though. Not sure how they will go about pricing season tickets, after a 2 seasons of unsettled pricing and refunds. I suppose they are waiting for ownership to be sorted, as well as whether they can offer a traditional season ticket or 23 home games for next season...

I love a good thread like this
Ok. I'm going to go on the assumption that I want to play some kind of 4-3-3, and aim for 2 players in most positions.
    Current Squad (contracted beyond June):
    GK (3)- Marshall, Roos, Ravas.
    LB (2)- Buchanan, Forsyth
    RB (2)- Byrne
    CB (4)-
CM (6) (lumping together DM, CM and AM) - Bielik, Bird, Shinnie, Knight, Sibley
    LW (2) - Lawrence
    RW (2) - Jozwiak, Ibe
CF (3 - so we have options)- Kazim-Richards.

From that lot, I would have no problem with Marshall, Byrne, Buchanan (yes, not his best season, but he's the future), 2-3 of those midfielders, Lawrence and Jozwiak being in our "normal" starting 11 next season.
I think Forsyth's time has come to an end, and I think it's time to be shot of Roos. With Ibe I'd be offering him termination if he's not going to get fit, but let's be optimistic and say we'll keep him around. Other than that, I figure we keep everyone because otherwise we'll have no players left.
Of our "out of contract" players, I'd offer Wisdom and Waghorn an extension. Wisdom because I think he can do a job and cover across the back, and Waghorn as, although he's had a bad season, he's a proven Championship level striker, clearly cares about the club, and it would also help with P&L if we keep him for another season. He's also, on his day, still a good player.
From the youth, and admittedly I don't see a lot of them, so maybe I'm wide of the mark here, but I'd promote Ebosele (cover for Byrne), Jordan Brown or Ethan Wassall (cover at CB - depending on who is more ready), Louie Watson, Bobby Duncan (or if we can't get him fit, Stretton) as cheap options for squad players. Also promote whichever keeper is most ready - let's say Yates. With those additions and subtractions... (bolding players that I'd be happy to have in my first XI (when everyone's fit)
    GK (3)- Marshall, Ravas, Yates.
    LB (2)- Buchanan
    RB (2)- Byrne, Ebosele
    CB (4)- Wisdom, Brown
CM (6) (lumping together DM, CM and AM) - Bielik, Bird, Shinnie, Knight, Sibley, Watson (sorry Shinnie, but when Bielik's fit, I reckon Bird is the better partner)
    LW (2) - Lawrence
    RW (2) - Jozwiak, Ibe
CF (3 - so we have options)- Kazim-Richards, Waghorn, Duncan.

So to make a squad that I want, I need:
LB, CBx2, maybe another CM as an option, 2 wingers, and probably another CF.
It already seems that we'll get Mengi back on loan next season, though I would have to admit I'm not sure how highly I rate him from what I've seen so far... so I'm not going to take that into consideration. Would be happy to have one of the wingers and the "extra" CM as loans, but don't want to focus too much on loans.
    CB
Kyle Bartley (WBA) - free - wages might be a little high, but I think we could get him - new captain, also, by the way.
Reece Burke (Hull) - free - has played regularly for a promoted L1 Hull side- only 24 - stick him next to Bartley for a couple of seasons and we could have a lynchpin for the next 10 years)
    LB
Joe Benett (Cardiff) - free - solid enough LB at Championship level, his experience would help Buchanan - questionable whether he'd come to us for non-guaranteed football, admittedly, but at 31 still has 2-3 years left in him and if Cardiff release him he'd probably come here.
    Wingers
Sullay Kaikai (Blackpool) - free - had a decent season in L1, with 15 goal contributions in 33 games. At 25, probably the right age to make the step up and, as with many of these potential options... out of contract in June.
    CF
I might try and go for Jerry Yates at Blackpool- everyone talks about Clarke-Harris, and rightfully so, but he's scored a third of Blackpool's goals this season and, at 24, if they don't come up, Championship clubs may come knocking - might get him for around a million, which might not be doable, but still, have to have some optimism.

Add some loans to the mix for a bit of depth in CM and up front....
I'd try and get Roberts back - think he'd be a good option to have.
I'd also like to bring Delap back from City
And finally, bit of a gamble, but Ben Woodburn from Liverpool- only got 1 year left on his contract there so could be one of those "with a view to a permanent"... we did alright with our last Liverpool loanee...

    GK (3)- Marshall, Ravas, Yates.
    LB (2)- Buchanan, Bennett
    RB (2)- Byrne, Ebosele
CB (4)- Bartley, Burke, Wisdom, Brown
CM (6) (lumping together DM, CM and AM) - Bielik, Bird, Sibley, Shinnie, Knight, Watson, Woodburn (sorry Shinnie, but when Bielik's fit, I reckon Bird is the better partner)
    LW (2) - Lawrence, Kaikai
RW (2) - Jozwiak, Roberts, Ibe
CF (3 - so we have options)- Yates, Delap, Kazim-Richards, Waghorn, Duncan.

I reckon with a better manager, and only about £1m in fees, that's a good team in this league.
