It's a celebration - the players come over to the fans literally every game.   Fans are treated as an inconvenience by football far too much these days.   If you don't want to go on the pitch fine but it's sad if you can't enjoy other people celebrating.

So you’re not bothered about the majority of fans who choose not to (or aren’t able to) go on the pitch being able to show their appreciation one last time from the stands? You’re not bothered about the players showing their appreciation to the fans by parading around the pitch with their families?

I don’t have a problem seeing other Derby fans celebrating but I’d quite like the opportunity to applaud the players, and receive their applause in return (yes, I’m convinced they’re aimed specifically at me 😀) one last time before I put my scarf away for the summer. Nothing sad about that. I fact I think it’s a bit sad that some folk don’t care about the majority of their fellow fans or what the players might want.

Get the sense people just like to judge other fans, anyone who’s watched any football in the last ten years will know there will be a pitch invasion if we are promoted.

didn’t even occur to me that was a potential negative until I came on here!

I don’t really care what happens to be honest as long as we’re promoted!

The negatives which have only just occurred to you are not people judging other fans. They are genuine negatives.

What you going to spend all that extra interest you’ve earned on? 😀

The Club have issued a statement regarding the possibility of criminal proceedings to any fans who encroach onto the pitch after final game .Should we gain promotion and get out of this awful League 1 after all of the ups and downs over the last few years l would have thought a simple gesture of letting the long suffering supporters celebrate and applaud the players is perfectly acceptable .Pompey fans assembled on the pitch last week after promotion was gained and created a fantastic spectacle. Why are Rams fans denied the opportunity after all it was common practice even in the great Clough era.The Club cites H&S worries and seems to forget that we are adults and do not need wrapping in cotton wool thank you very much.As a Club we have had little to celebrate in recent years ,Powers that be chill and let the supporters celebrate and thank the players in the time honoured way.

I suspect the club just felt obliged to issue such a warning but know it might still happen.

Personally, whilst it's something worth celebrating, it's not as if we've won the league or anything so I'd prefer we all just stayed in the stands and allowed the players and their families to do a proper lap of honour.

Regarding H&S, I was at the Tamworth game two weeks ago when they sealed promotion for the second year running. Some numpty must have fallen over the advertising hoardings (needless to say, there is no upper tier at Tamworth 😀) and had to be taken away on a stretcher by St. John's Ambulance.

Will a win tomorrow prompt a pitch invasion at the end or are we saving that for the Carlisle game. The scenes at Portsmouth and Mansfield in midweek were brilliant and show what football means to fans.

Firstly, a win tomorrow will not guarantee us promotion unless both Bolton and Posh drop points as well. So, celebrations on that level would be dangerously premature.

Secondly, such a pitch invasion would be a moronic thing to do and I sincerely hope no one is even remotely considering it.

Would be handy if you could do that at Cambridge tomorrow

Imagine what that grassy bank behind the ground would look like if we were playing Northampton instead of Cambridge tomorrow? It would be a site for sore eyes, numerous flags and hundreds of Rams fans (until/unless the police moved them on).

The job Warne has done, since Stevenage away, has been exemplary.

You cannot play one touch 50 pass moves with league 1 players. Not feasible. If we blow it, and have to face up to another season down here, Warne is definitely the man to rebuild us and go again.

If we go up, he will have earnt the right to build a Championship squad and have a go at keeping us up, as per his original brief.

I know he's marmite, with his off-beat personality profile, but he's clearly an honest and genuine man and it's hard to see a nice guy cop for abuse.

I wouldn’t quite describe it as “exemplary”. Our performances against Northampton and Wycombe (in my book, by and large, the management and players take joint responsibility for the poor performances and credit for the good ones) in particular are enough of blot to make such an accolade unjustified. Even most of the wins have been less than convincing but, I agree with your other sentiments.

whether he is the right man to rebuild and go again is uncertain (I do understand certain posters concerns) but I do think he’s got us close enough not to be sacked.

Again, I get the concerns voiced by some others if we go up but he will have earned the right to give it a go.

We’ve had nothing through the post about renewing ours yet !

I’m not sure you’ll get anything in the post so, don’t wait.

To renew you just need to go online (your new price and confirmation of your seat will be there) or ring up. Hurry up though, you’ve only got just over a week.

You could level that at a number of the first team regulars - or Max Bird who definitely won't be playing for us next season.

True but I didn’t advocate putting any player on for a five minute cameo. But if we did, nothing personal against JJ, a player here on loan (that hasn’t appeared a great deal) would probably be bottom of my list.

Would love for him to get a 5min cameo against Carlisle. Such a shame to see a good talent hampered by injuries.

Why, unless he's likely to sign for us next year

If we're looking at a 5 minute cameo when the result is safe, I'd rather it was youngster or some other first team regular.

Just wondering what our approach will be. Go for the win or make sure we don’t lose. Interesting……very interesting 😊

I'm sure it will be somewhere between the two. Go for the win but not so gung-ho that we put ourselves too much at risk of losing.

On the front foot please but with control and composure.

I did mine last month but i always worry this time of year that it hasnt gone through or somethings gone wrong and i loose my seat lol!

You should be able to see it in purchase history.

Log on to the DCFC site.

Click on your profile at the top.

From the drop down options select "my match tickets".

On the left hand side select "season tickets"

That's how it looks on my Ipad anyway.

If you -or anyone else- think so I strongly suggest you read something like this (not dismiss it, try and understand it)

From what I can make out, all this article tell us is if you run a random set of numbers many times you’re much more likely to get the spread of results you’d expect than if you only ran it once. That’s pretty obvious stuff in the same way that if you tossed a coin 6 times, the chances are that you wouldn’t get a 50:50 split between heads and tails. If you tossed a coin 10,000 times though, you would get much closer to half heads and half tails.

The author claims to have taken into account the fact all teams don’t start the league equal and has allowed for some being stronger than others when arriving at the random number that generate the results for each individual game. However, as far as I can see, he hasn’t explained what weighting he has applied nor how he has applied it. If the weighting is only marginal then you’d expect fairly similar variation to the completely random results.

I don’t think anyone is denying that the larger the sample size the more likely the results are to reflect expectation. But what I think we are saying is that, over the course of a full season, whilst there still be a few random results where a “weaker” team will beat a “stronger” team, the impact of these unexpected results will be dissipated to an extent that the league table, by and large, reflects the relative strengths of the teams competing.

    and breath………

Curtis Davies scored Cheltenham’s winner last night against Burton.  He’s still got it in him!  (No filthy memes please).

If only we had someone that could score from set pieces. 😀

I hope the ideal scenario is an away win at Cambridge Utd on Sat - that would absolutely be a suitable outcome for the Away fans who’ve backed the team very loudly all season and then we either win or draw the final home game confirming promotion in front of a full house, where we can all give our gratitude to the players and especially to David Clowes who rescued the club for us all.
Whatever anyone thinks about the Manager, Coaches and Squad, they will have achieved promotion which not that many players or managers have achieved in the last 50 odd year - it would be a doe idk day for us all to come together and celebrate together.  Here’s hoping !! 🐏🤗

Totally agree with your second paragraph. However, whilst it would be more exciting to finalise promotion at home on the last day, for the sake of my heart, I’d be quite happy if we confirmed promotion at Cambridge. 😀

As someone said above, Posh can't finish with more than 89 points, same as Bolton, and we still have GD advantage over both.

So - if we reach 90 points it doesn't matter what either of them do.

Bolton's result last night puts them behind what I predicted, and makes it unlikely that they can now overtake us unless bizarre things happen on the final day.

    Possible scenarios Rams v Trotters:

We win the last 2 games and we are 2nd no matter what.

We win and draw the last 2 games and we have 90 points and are still 2nd no matter what.

We draw both games, and if Bolton win both theirs then they are 2nd (89 points to our 88).  Same thing would also be true if Posh won their last 3.  However, since Posh play Bolton BOTH of those scenarios happening at once is impossible, it would be either one or the other above us but not both, and we would finish 3rd, with all the playoff advantages that brings.  Let's hope however that it doesn't come to that.

That seems to me to be a reason to really go for it on Saturday, as a win would really take the pressure off.  No point accepting a point on Saturday, as this would only increase the pressure to win on the last day.

If we won on Saturday and got to 89 points then GD would kick in, and we would still finish 2nd no matter what happens on the last day.  Or at the very least we would go into the last day knowing that only the combination of both a heavy loss for us and a big win for Trotters or Posh (possible but unlikely) would change anything.

That depends on what Bolton (or Posh) do on Saturday. It isn’t inconceivable that Bolton beat Port Vale by 3 or 4 goals. Meaning, if we say only beat Cambridge by a single goal, we’d go into the final game with a 3 point advantage but our gd advantage cut to 3 or less. If that happened it wouldn’t require a combination of a heavy defeat for us and a big win for Bolton for them to overtake us.

The only certainty is, if we get better results than both Bolton and Posh on Saturday then we’re up. Anything less (other than a defeat for us and a handsome win for either Bolton or Peterborough) probably leaves us as favourites going into the last games.

Can't see Warne thinking it's done and dusted, not the mentality he's shown so far.

I think he will want 2 wins and expect the players to commit to 2 wins no matter what.

I reckon there’s no manager in the entire league that would think it’s done and dusted yet or indeed if we still have a three point lead (and six points on Peterborough) after Saturday. They would be insane to think so.

True but they have been saying he needs to go, shows that there is nothing unusual about our fanbase. You always get that wide spectrum of views.

That’s what I’ve been preaching for a long time and I rather suspected that we wouldn’t have to look too far to find possibly a noisy minority wanting the manager out regardless.

My only comment about the comparisons with the Reading match was at the time we were on a downward spiral with a defence that leaked goals for fun. Neither are the case this time.

You’re right. Along with many others on this forum, I was at that game and seem to recall a sense of inevitability about the result rather than surprise.
