They said that when we signed a 37 year old Paul Mcgrath who had knackered knees.
He was Superb that season.
I've seen enough of Jag to be of the opinion that he would be a great signing for a season.

Full time 0-2 & a really encouraging display.
Yes, Notts County are National League, yes they're earlier on in their pre-season & yes, they should have scored at least once in that 10 min spell after half time. Today though was more about seeing how the young lads could step up in the event of being needed next Saturday & thought Ebosele and Cashin made a really strong case for starting v Huddersfield come what may. Festy caused carnage running at their left side & was very good defensively but probably more excited about Cashin. We are particularly weak at CB given the current nonsense but his performance was so assured & authoritative, its cheered me up no end.
Enjoyed watching us play overall as well. Lots of pop passes around midfield & there were long spells when Notts couldn't get close to us. Not naive enough to think we'll be as comfortable playing like that against your average Championship cloggers but the only way these lads are going to improve is by being exposed to those situations. Trialists signed or not, I want to see plenty of Cashin, Williams, Hutchinson, Thompson, Stretton & of course Festy this season.
Last word for Craig Forsyth - two games in a row at CB, two clean sheets & been very accomplished in both games. He's got a massive role this season & has started well.

It’s a clear message to the board. We are in deep, deep trouble if something doesn’t change ASAP. 
Whether you like or loathe Wayne Rooney as the manager of this football club, surely we can all agree that he is being absolutely sold down the river by the shambolic ownership. 

I’m from Bristol and have no association with Derbyshire other than the football team, which I started supporting at primary school.
Like many I was seduced by a team playing well in the top tier and like the kit and ram logo. I soon started to idolise not the forwards but McFarland and Todd, and spent my own football career as a defender.
Something about this football team has me hooked, and I’ve stuck by them ever since.
 

I don’t see how the EFL can let us start the season without letting us registering anymore players. 
The profit and sustainability rules are there to protect clubs, but right now the EFL is actively working to make us not have a competitive team.
That’s not right. We have an embargo for not paying HMRC, to me this has nothing to do with the EFL, HMRC will take us to court when we’ve failed to meet enough deadlines. 
I can understand an embargo for failing to pay transfer instalments as this is a transaction between it’s member clubs, makes total sense but not HMRC.
Other clubs will be looking on and be concerned, I’m sure of it, they will be thinking this could be us next having to deal with the EFL making the rules up as they go along.
Say what you like about our wrongdoings, but that does not mean that the EFL doesn’t need a overhaul from top to bottom.

In isolation, I'd normally ignore this as 'former football player now manager being a little silly' nonsense. A consequence of selecting the likes of famous types as managers. Likewise with the Knight incident. It's been sensationalised, and in isolation, chances are it was something that could happen anywhere. If it was two players, it'd just be frustrating and a slice of bad luck
But it's just another poke in the eye of Derby fans that are only receiving bad news associated with the club at the moment. As others pointed out, he spoke after the Salford game about restoring some pride and dignity to Derby County, only to then put himself in these types of situations. Adds to the sense of disillusionment that I know I'm feeling, and I'd be willing to bet some other people are.

With clumsy interventions (Knight), shenanigans with young ladies and the ready excuse that extraordinary circumstances render him blameless, it's increasingly like having Boris in charge. 

Bielik-Wilshere-Morrison will be the best midfield trio in the league. It'll only be a thing for all of six minutes, but what a six minutes it'll be.

What really annoys me most - about Wayne and those in a hurry to stick up for him - is the complete double standards. 
'Oh poor Wayne, if it wasn't him no one would be interested, it's a non-story' etc etc. 
What a pile of rubbish. He ONLY has the job in the first place because he's Wayne Rooney. He only got the massively inflated player's wage because he's Wayne Rooney. He only got taken on as a coach because he's Wayne Rooney...or got away with disappearing on other ventures or having to self isolate because he's Wayne Rooney. 
He only got the manager's job and survived the season because he's Wayne Rooney...no other criteria would justify him being manager and getting the platform after the end of season we had, to talk about getting support from the club and them acting with a bit more dignity. To then go and shoot himself in the foot and seem to claim its victimisation because of who he is, really shows no self-awareness of any sort. 

Interesting to see a decent number of you say that you don't really have a problem with the manager of your club getting pi55ed up to the point where he falls asleep in the hotel room of a group of young woman (and gets subsequently snapped doing so) just a few hours after saying he was looking to bring some "dignity and pride" back to the club.
I was expecting more to have a problem with it considering our recent history with staff members getting drunk. 
Is it now a problem for Wayne and Coleen? Yes, but let's not pretend this isn't a problem for us, too.
Once again we are having our name dragged through the mud. When is this going to stop happening?
Does he deserve to get the boot for this? Probably not. He deserves to get the boot for nearly getting us relegated to League One (thanks again, Marlon Pack). But it certainly isn't going to win him any supporters, in my view. 

On its own, Rooney being pictured in a hotel room with women would just be a matter for him and his family. It's embarrassing for him.
Thing is, the timing of this is shocking. We're at our lowest ebb for a number of decades. Both on and off the field. The last thing Derby need is more negative press. We've got an owner trying to sell the club, negotiate with the EFL and deal with increasing debts at an uncertain time for revenues due to COVID. Add this into the mix, on top of this Jason Knight debarcle and you've got to ask yourself, what was he thinking? Or not thinking.
We're less than two weeks away from the first game of the season and our manager thought it a good idea to go and get rat arsed after loosing a friendly. That's the bigger problem for me, I don't care about the photos and hotel room. I care more about the complete lack of professionalism and focus at a critical juncture in the clubs history. Whether its Rooney's fault or not that we're in the mess we're in, he should be making sure his actions are only for the better of the club. His have not been.

I know nothing's really changed in regards to our situation after those Tweets, but I don't half feel better.

Can confirm we have received an invite for the meeting. No day set yet, once I know I will try and get together some questions from you all, although I suspect most questions would be the same across all groups attending.
I will be attending this meeting myself as @Boycie has refused, claiming that the chef is probably on furlough so no buffet.
