Morris sacks Rooney today, and appoints McClaren as manager. Morris announces he has got his mojo back, and Mrs Morris is happy he can throw a bit more money at his project. McClaren signs Chris Martin for £3m on a £30k pw 4 year contract from Bristol City. McClaren also signs two good wingers, plus loans two more, to play to the strengths of Martin. Morris sacks McClaren in September, after entering the dressing room in a 0-1 defeat to Millwall. Rowett is appointed manager, and changes to a 721 formation and Martin is loaned to Torquay Utd. Mrs Morris shakes her head and has Morris sectioned.

Bold decision but we got 1 point from the last 7 games of last season so it's hardly rocking a steady ship is it?
Is Lawrence the captain we need? Is Rooney the manager we need? Are these Americans the owners we need? Is Ravel Morrison the midfield maestro we need? Is switching from beer to red wine the solution to my drinking problem that we need?

Reckon Rooney will be a better judge of Lawrence's credentials to be team captain than any fan on a football forum.

You are so right. 
I am one of those who for a while shook my head when I saw the early selections. 
Then I suddenly had the massive revelation that perhaps I, a balding office worker, might not know the intricacies of team management at the very top level, nor see and hear the players on a daily basis. 
I don't have training badges, no one is likely to pay me for my opinion and I have not taken England to a major final. 
So guess what? 
Last night I just sat down and watched. 
Italy are a better side than us at the moment but our future looks bright. 
I thought we did blooming well including Mr Southgate. 
There are some very bad losers about. 

A final can go one of two ways. We can win it, or we can lose it. We don’t have a god given right to win it, whatever tactic we play. We deserve it, we’ve waited long enough, we’ve got great players, but none of these things give 100% certainty that we’ll win it. 
so I choose to believe that this just wasn’t our time, and our time will come on another day, at another tournament. Maybe next year. Maybe learning the lessons from this tournament. Who knows?
italy are a bloody good side. 30+ unbeaten. Absolutely no guarantees that going out all guns blazing would have beaten them. What we did do was take then all the way. We’ll never know if we could have done slightly better, or a lot better, or worse doing something different. We did what we did, and We could have narrowly won, but we narrowly lost. 

And three points deducted for being in Derbyshire. Good old EFL - always fighting for fairness on behlaf of its members!

I'm no lawyer, but I'd have thought the use of the phrase "systematic cheating" is actionable. We've been through a disciplinary procedure that cleared us of any wrongdoing re. the sale of the stadium, and that censured us for using unusual but entirely legal amortisation procedures. Publically accusing the club of cheating is a very serious claim, and if I was the club's lawyer I'd be writing to this bloke pretty sharpish. The EFL have already dragged our name through the mud; we don't need every other gob***te joining in.

If now is not the time to stick together in solidarity with the club…..when would be?

They were always a band in my "I really want to go and see them" collection in the early days, but I never did. I will definitely when they tour again in the after-times.

Yes, the very same. The guys who recorded the classic "Fit For Fight" in the early 1980s re-formed a few years ago (2012) and recorded "Axe To Grind". Since then they have been (occasionally) touring. Half of the original lineup are still in the band, and they recruited Kev when they re-formed.

Surely not the Danish metal band from late 70's?!
