Poor comments made last night from Mel, and the very fact he teased leaving us in the crap, shows the blokes character! 

Well, I never thought it would come to this, but after the game Saturday I won't be back until Morris is out of my club 

If we can only sign 3 or 4 then we might as well just give up now.
Shambles of a club.
Mel Morris took over a club on the brink of the premier League and turned them into a shoe in for relegation to League One. With that little money we can't sign more than 3 free transfers.
I'll never forgive that bloke for what he's done to this football club.
And I hope the fans going on Saturday let him know exactly what they think of him.

Interesting to see a decent number of you say that you don't really have a problem with the manager of your club getting pi55ed up to the point where he falls asleep in the hotel room of a group of young woman (and gets subsequently snapped doing so) just a few hours after saying he was looking to bring some "dignity and pride" back to the club.
I was expecting more to have a problem with it considering our recent history with staff members getting drunk. 
Is it now a problem for Wayne and Coleen? Yes, but let's not pretend this isn't a problem for us, too.
Once again we are having our name dragged through the mud. When is this going to stop happening?
Does he deserve to get the boot for this? Probably not. He deserves to get the boot for nearly getting us relegated to League One (thanks again, Marlon Pack). But it certainly isn't going to win him any supporters, in my view.

On its own, Rooney being pictured in a hotel room with women would just be a matter for him and his family. It's embarrassing for him.
Thing is, the timing of this is shocking. We're at our lowest ebb for a number of decades. Both on and off the field. The last thing Derby need is more negative press. We've got an owner trying to sell the club, negotiate with the EFL and deal with increasing debts at an uncertain time for revenues due to COVID. Add this into the mix, on top of this Jason Knight debarcle and you've got to ask yourself, what was he thinking? Or not thinking.
We're less than two weeks away from the first game of the season and our manager thought it a good idea to go and get rat arsed after loosing a friendly. That's the bigger problem for me, I don't care about the photos and hotel room. I care more about the complete lack of professionalism and focus at a critical juncture in the clubs history. Whether its Rooney's fault or not that we're in the mess we're in, he should be making sure his actions are only for the better of the club. His have not been.

As far as I am aware Wayne Rooney has no coaching qualifications. Why then is he the Manager of DCFC when there are plenty of more qualified people and more experienced people who are already employed by the club. Mclaren, Rosenior, Wassell and Walker are all better qualified and in all probability would do a better job.
The best thing for the club would be for Wayne to walk away, if this isn’t an option gardening leave is probably the best option.
 

This is the one of the most stupid posts I have seen on this forum. Nearly every fan of every club has this mentality to their team. It’s not the supporters fault that Mel went above his means and bent every rule in the book to chance the dream.  

The ultimate blame lies with the supporters, demanding new players twice a year, demanding seat prices to be lower and demanding promotion to the premiership whatever the cost. So the richest man in Derby has run out of cash and the will to carry on subsidizing a club where a  cohort  of supporters want him to “walk away now” and to “eff off” but are evidently not prepared to put their own hands in their pockets in any meaningful way. The facts are (for the benefit of corporal dictionary).The wages are being paid as evidenced by no new charges from the EFL, new potential signings do want to join the Rams as evidenced by the quantity of triallists, previous foot balling debts paid evidenced by the removal of that charge by the EFL, but no this is not enough, the fans want see Mel bankrupted all his money gone and living in a cardboard box under a railway arch, the loss of hundreds of millions of his personal money is not enough, he should be made to eff off so the baying rabble shout. My last word is be careful what you wish for you might get it, he or MSD would still own the stadium, wages would not be paid and more than a hundred employees of DCFC would lose their jobs and the club would be liquidated.
Would that give you satisfaction?

Protest at the Betis game, if nothing changes protest IN GAME at the Huddersfield match and try and get the match called off. If we’re going into it with no centre backs then we’ve got nothing to lose. 

I know it's stupid to judge things based on one pre-season game but parts of this rant have been left over from last season.
I've just realised there was a time last season when we had three people at the club vastly more qualified and suitable for the manager role than Rooney. Mac, Wassall and even Bowyer. This club is ridiculous. It's obvious Rooney is un-sackable until we have a new owner.
A decent or at least experienced manager, someone with a history of using low quality players at the bottom end of the division would at least give us more of a chance. To me it looks like Rooney is more interested in getting better as a manager for his individual benefit. Him trying to be the one who finally gets the best out of Morrison is a prime example of this. He's not in it for the money so why would he be bothered doing the boring stuff that would benefit the club? He clearly isn't willing to listen to advice from more experienced people after the way he banished Mac, instead he just surrounds himself with yes men. He's un-sackable and I think he knows it.
If we're accepting we're going to be in a relegation battle next season and we have low quality players we should do what other clubs in this situation do, be less of a footballing side, play more direct, simple etc. Like Burnley have been doing for years in the PL. Instead it just feels like we're part of Rooney's Football Manager career. 
I'd have a lot of respect for him if he would step aside without asking for a pay-off (he doesn't need the money), and just let someone with relegation experience come in to give us some sort of chance.

Reminds me of when we went after Antonio when Mel had an open cheque book! 
 
Mel’s had a lot of slack given him during this 2 year limbo period. If he was to sell Buchanan to Forest he’d loose all support from me! 

If we were forced to sell Buchanan to Forest then Mel and Pearce want running out ot Derby.
HRMC owed money, no updates on the accounts, no updates on anything of any note, embargos, umbongos, Buchanan to Forest would be the absolute final nail in the coffin for me.

Im on the thinnest of thin ice with Derby County at the moment.
I think this would break it.
He is without doubt our first choice left back next season.
Selling him is bad enough, selling him to Forest wound be unforgiveable.
But on account of the fact that we wouldn't replace him. This would mean that Forsyth would be our only left back for a 46 game season.
 

When Mel took over he inherited a good squad and then supplied the funds for Mac to bring in Thorne on a permanent and a few other players …at that stage I felt we couldn’t be in a better place and we were heading in the right direction 
A few seasons on and it is a total and utter shambles and although some poor managerial appointments haven’t helped what we as fans have no insight into is how the books are being balanced are the HMRC being paid are staff wages being paid etc etc in other words running a business
The embarrassing shambolic mess of a once great football club is down to Mel and his associates I’m afraid whether anyone thinks he has good intentions or not …his side of it was to maintain the football club we love and he has failed 
I’m sick to death of hearing our club being spoke about in such low terms and Mel seemed ok on talksport boasting that he’d had one over on the efl etc but I’m sorry all we as fans asked of Mel was to run the club we adore ….properly !!! He has failed and for me I certainly will never forgive him for the mess we are in ….managers make bad decisions so do players but that’s part of the game …but crossing the tees and dotting the I’s on the business side we trusted Mr Morris and he has let us down …good intentions or not 

I wouldn’t call Martyn Waghorn an enigma! He was at his best for Ipswich when he was a number 9! I remember when he was at Pride Park and he bullied our defence! He was the star man for that team! 
 
He strikes me as being a player that need an arm around him, something that I think Rooney struggles with!

The club has said nothing of any substance for over a year now. Perhaps being open and honest with the fans might work this time ?
