We've been through some tough times, when you put all the horrendous Covid stuff alongside the financial firestorm of the Morris era together we are lucky to have a club left to support.
But we have a fantastic club to support, we still have our wonderful, stressful, beautiful club to support.
We are averaging 26,000 in the third division. We are selling out most away games, we are Derby.
I love this football club, I love everything about DCFC. I love the history, I love people like @loweman2 doing all the stuff about shirts, @Inverurie Ram with his Rams flag thread,
Whatever happens this season, whether we make the play offs or even sneak into the autos, it doesn't really matter.
Being part of the DCFC family is what matters.  We are Derby. Enjoy every game you go to and get behind the team.

It would be good to get 3 points as most teams around us play each other this weekend

    Afternoon all
    Happy New Year..
This has been discussed for a while. Those that have done all or even some of the away games this year should be able to relate to this. The atmosphere has not been good enough for the numbers that we taking. Bolton was the tipping block and there are many reasons behind it.
So for every away game with the club's backing we are going back to the dedicated singing block. Not the best terminology but the only wording that can officially be used. This was a great success around the 2017 era.
This is simply a block for those fans that are like minded and want to improve the atmosphere. Its not a block where the singing will only be (obviously) but important that point is made clear. Its also not a block where the only standing will be.
Don't read too much into it. The cringe comments will come, no doubt, but this is needed after a good evaluation this season. Like minded fans cannot get together due to the membership scheme. By the club facilitating this it means that fans who wish to be vocal all game can be together with like minded fans as they will know where to buy their tickets. Likewise, if you don't want to be part of that and just watch the game (like many do) it also gives you the opportunity to be away from this section.
The drum at away games where allowed will also be returning. Not everyone's cup of tea, I know, but let's be honest you can't please everyone in 2023 and is actually a massive help with tempo and volume in the stands. End of the day its about backing the lads vocally and giving them that extra % which is sometimes needed in a game.
This is already available for the next away game which is Port Vale. A good 4k going as well. Details on the block are on the dcfc website.
Club84 will be the catalysts behind this. Give them your backing. They have been great at displays over the last couple of years and improving the atmosphere away, and at home.

Officials, TV(I've cancelled my Sky Sports), Added time(not injury time)VAR, Corruption, Manipulating officials by players/managers, Feigning injury, Cheating...a word that has been airbrushed from todays game, Substitutes that will enhance the richer clubs with a squad full of internationals, The price of a replica kit and more...and yet the Premier League sell their rights world wide to become a money monster.
Do I hate football...no, The game I once loved has become over time a toy for the Billionaires, Oil rich Countries and those who would see an opportunity for themselves to make money.
It's not fun anymore I'm sad to say for me ☹️

Chellaston Ram reacted to Ram-Alf in Problems with VAR starting to show?
No apologies here as I'm old school, A saga supporter, Old timer, A man from the early days of yore the 60s, VAR has killed what I once knew as football, A passionate game between 2 waring teams, A Ref who was pretty decent, The World thought we had the best Refs in the day, Pitches that were pristine in the Summer and a bog in the Winter, But 22 players had to play on them.
I bit the bullet on Sunday and cancelled my Sky Sport, No more being told by both sexes what I'd just seen, Not listening to ex footballers giving their opinions on the game...who gives a sh*t, Not listening to some jumped up commentator talking bo***x, The dearth of the John Motson/Barry Davies commentators replaced with a new bread of whataboutisms, With VAR we have win/lose by tech, Jeff Stelling was banging the drum a few years back with "the tech is out there...use it for pete's sake" now a hairs breath on an attacking player in the box he goes down and it's a penalty, Players today or should I say actors are very astute at winning them, The Ref has relinquished the responsibility...let those miles away decide.
A 90 minute game has now turned into a 100min plus game at the very least, Players are so tuned into VAR they know it's a tool they can use, Players get the slightest touch in their face and it looks like Mike Tyson has hit them...hoping VAR will get involved.
I could go on and on and on and on, Tech has improved our way of lives, The wheel has been invented with more to boot in the future, But football is like no other sport in the World, It's subjective and is filled with a bucket full of opinions...I don't like VAR even if it cost DCFC a trophy in the future.
    Off out now...to Chill ?
