Nah, 'Quantuna' should be used instead of 'c*ck-up', clusterf*ck or 'shambles'. As in "They tried to take a quick free kick, but made a right a right Quantuma of it",

I'm also nearing 40 now and don't like change of any sort, and everything I'm into seems to go back to the 90' early 00's, everything since then is rubbish ?

You’re spot on. The EFL can’t be forgiven for their role in this. I agree with other posters, without the pressure from our fans on local MPs and the government the EFL could’ve created another bury. It’s not the EFL hierarchy per se, it’s the fact it’s the clubs regulating themselves. Descends into mob rule protecting self interest so it becomes about making sure a club stepping out of line doesn’t get an advantage and ensuring it’s penalised and not about helping a club in difficulty survive. We have been more than punished and the EFL business plan will continue that punishment.
That being said, I think the business plan would hurt us more in the Championship. I think in league one we will have enough headroom to build a competitive side.

Our friends at the EFL didn't take long to point out we remain under embargo.
    https://www.efl.com/news/2022/july/efl-statement-derby-county-exit-administration/
    The relevant extract reads:
"As part of the conditions of continuing membership in the EFL, the Club, whilst remaining under a registration embargo, will be permitted to sign new players in accordance with the terms of a business plan. The plan, which has been jointly agreed by the new ownership and the EFL, includes restrictions in respect of transfers fees, player wages and agents’ fees. Any application to register players must comply with the terms of those agreed plans."
I guess we all knew this was coming. What the statement does not say, is how long this will remain for. Is it the whole season? Is it the following season as well?
And what the terms are will dictate how competitive we can be. As before, we cannot even extend registrations for existing players without meeting the EFL's demands. While I'm grateful we still have a club, I will never forgive the EFL for what they did to us.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, isn't it? But (analogy warning) if you were buying a house at an agreed price and the vendor upped the asking price by 66% the day before contracts were due to be exchanged, would you still go through with it? Maybe you would, but my answer, purely on a point of principle, would end in "off" and no matter how much I loved the house, I'd start looking at different properties even if that house came back on the market at the original price 6 months later.
BTW, we bought Vydra and Anya earlier that season, and that might well have either influenced the decision not to give in to Exeter's demand or even restricted our ability to stump up another £1.2m. The "Just pay it" approach has allot to answer for at this club and it's bizarre to see fans saying that we should actually have spent more just because a player turned out to be a great signing by another club.

So all we need to find is an English Trappist monk, with no internet access, who happens to be a billionaire and fancies running a football club when he's not ritually self-flagellating or praying.
How hard can it be? ?

First priority is to find someone rich enough and stupid enough to get us out of the financial mess and keep us in business.

I'm sure someone else has probably said this, at some point. I am, in no way, defending Mel's record, but:
    1. He's certainly tried.
    2. He's not managed to us promoted.
    3. He is a fan.
    4. He is, by all accounts, ill.
    5. He could have put us in administration a month ago. If he had... immediate fire sale.
So... is it possible that, whilst there are certainly many arguments to the contrary (and they are very much fair), that he has actually picked pretty much the *best* time to send us into admin?
Yes, we have minus 12. But- we have a chance of survival.
Yes, we could lose our best players in January for pittance... but we *could* have been sold by then and not have it *quite* so bad.
Yes, we could get relegated.... but maybe we would've done anyway. He could have put us in administration 4 months ago and we'd have definitely been relegated.
If his illness is as bad as reported, then whilst he should certainly be held to task for some aspects of his reign, should he be given *some* benefit of the doubt?
