Sidd10 reacted to RoyMac5 in So who would we have then?
If Clowes acts now then most fans will congratulate him on acting in good time to correct an understandable mistake in recruitment. Enough is enough now.

Sidd10 got a reaction from Pikeyram in Warne Out Out
It won't be long till we are limping towards 22/23k home attendances. Every ounce of optimism has been drained, even if we win tomorrow night, we all know it'll be a tough watch.
Mr Clowes really needs to think about any potential revenue loss, not only for attendances in the coming weeks/months, but also for season tickets next season.
Even if Warne turns results around (I don't think he will for many of the reasons everyone else has covered) I can't see fans flocking to renew if we have to watch the style of football PW sets us up to play.
New manager + feel good factor (Eustace?) = probably closer to 28/30k at the games over xmas and new year
Keep Warne with current feeling = 22/23k attendances and probably limping towards 16k season tickets next year
I really think it is a black and white decision on future revenue and whether that outweighs getting rid of him and his team sooner rather than later.
I hope Mr Clowes chooses wisely so I can enjoy going to Pride Park again 🙂

Decent interview from Stevenage boss on their Youtube:
Speaks highly of Derby as a club and squad. Also speak highly of Paul Warne, which might help his confidence if he's been reading this forum lately. 🤣
Derby speak around 5:30 onwards.
Not sure what the bugle is about

About time they dropped Smith. Rubbish player.

My team for Cambridge at home would be
Wildsmith
Nyambe Nelson Cashin Forsyth
Smith Fornah
Mendez Waghorn Barks
Collins
Subs Vickers, Bradley, Wilson, Elder, Washington, Sibley, Brown.
For me i would keep the defence the same, play Barks outwide instead of Sibbo, play Waghorn just behind Collins, and if Bird is fit enough put him on the bench instead of Brown or even play him in centre mid instead of Smith, depending on how fit he is to play

Good that you're giving him plenty of time to prove himself.

Personally, I'd miss Collo.
He makes it so much easier to believe that I too could pull on the shirt at first team level.

TBH I think Waggy will score more than C-H, why spend the money. Wait and see how J-J turns out too.

Interesting premise, but surely if we were planning this kind of reshuffle, we would be looking at a younger forward?
Clarke-Harris is very good but he is almost 30 and while he has an excellent record in League 1 and a respectable record in the Championship and he would obviously improve us, is he a player we can build the team around moving forward?
It would be a strange one, I’d say. I think if we were going to blow our budget on a marquee signing, it would make sense to sign a player who is 23-26 and can still develop in some way.

Wildsmith, Ward, Wilson, Cashin, Thompson, Bird, Sibley.
7 good young players to build the squad around.

Problem with Warneball is if we aren’t winning then it’s just unforgivable because the football is crap.
I know possession isn’t everything. But not even dominating the ball at home in League One is just woeful.
We should be racking up over 60% of the ball in every home game this season and having more shots than the opposition.
So far we have done neither.

Where has this come from?
City played most of last season with 3 at the back and started this season with it.
The teams who went up from this division all played 3 at the back last season.
Bolton are currently 3-0 up at half time 9 points from 9 with 3 at the back.
Our problem is our 3 aren’t very good. Not the fact there are 3 of them.

Sidd10 reacted to TuffLuff in Billy Sharp
Got to say I respectfully disagree with the ‘I don’t want Sharp here’ talk and think it’s a bit daft. Yesterday was a reminder of what I think some of our problem was last year in that we really lack winners in our current side. Lots of good footballers, lots of nice players, but not many who you’d say have a real winning mentality. I do think Bradley and Nelson have a bit of that so think we are ok at the back but we lack a winner in more attacking areas and Sharp would tick that box for me no matter of his age. Also the market hasn’t moved in a way that has made players like Godden, Lapado and seemingly Smith available at this time. Derby are also in a tight market as they need 25-30 year olds, willing to play in league one but can also play consistently in front if big crowds. That isn’t easy.
We need someone who can get something out of nothing, turn draws into wins etc and I think I’d rather have Sharp here than anywhere else in this league.

Sidd10 got a reaction from Wsm-ram in v Wigan (H) Match Thread
Not read much of the thread. My two pence worth is that the formation just doesn’t work.
We need 2 strikers. NML isn’t good enough to play in the middle of the pitch. bird isn’t good enough to play that high.
We desperately need a number 10 who can talk the ball on the half turn between the lines.
Think too 6 will be a good finish

I hate it when a manager tries to create a formation for players that don’t fit it.
for me it should be 4-3-3 or 4-4-2
Wildsmith
wilson Bradley cashin Forsyth
Sibley bird hourihane
Ward Washington NML
Vickers
Wilson Nelson cashin elder
Ward Hourihane Bird NML
washington + Collins
