Well you obviously can't read. 2 x houses equals 12 nurses....on 2 week rotations for I'd say 40 weeks of the year. Gaps in between for deep cleaning and holiday periods etc.
So that's 20 x 12 = 240. And we are the overflow in a tiny town. I sont even know if we are the only overflow site in this town. The main bulk of the housing is on hospital grounds - you know, those things every single town has - and i dont have those numbers. If you think 1200 positions cannot be filled, then I think you're deluded.
Brexit was never about skilled workers, as you know...and we can't have that debate.
Your stereotypical views are disgusting too. Compliance? Who the hell are you to state that?

sheeponacid reacted to SK47 in A Proud Moment For Me, My Godson, Henry Curtis.
I don't know if this deserves its own post but I'm super proud that my eldest (16 year old) godson has recently been playing for Ipswich u21&u23's, with the paperwork going through on a 2 year deal.
He was involved with the u23 training on Thursday/Friday and was asked (along with 10 others) to stay behind to play a game with first team, of which was mixed teams.
Henry Partnered Richard Keogh at cb at the age of 16. I'm absolutely over the moon that I've watched him grow and play to the point he is now involved with partnering an ex Derby captain, amazing stuff.
Keep an eye out for him, Henry Curtis. His paperwork is currently going through and hes playing Swansea this weekend. I've already told him if he ever gets the call to play for Derby, he has to. No ifs or buts.
❤️?

Well none of us can live without shop workers, lets pay them what they want too surely?
Checkout attendants at petrol stations, break the bank for them.
Waitresses and barmaids...how much do you want?
At the end of the day nurses know what the pay is when they take the job, whether that is enough or not is more than open to debate.

We've been through some tough times, when you put all the horrendous Covid stuff alongside the financial firestorm of the Morris era together we are lucky to have a club left to support.
But we have a fantastic club to support, we still have our wonderful, stressful, beautiful club to support.
We are averaging 26,000 in the third division. We are selling out most away games, we are Derby.
I love this football club, I love everything about DCFC. I love the history, I love people like @loweman2 doing all the stuff about shirts, @Inverurie Ram with his Rams flag thread,
Whatever happens this season, whether we make the play offs or even sneak into the autos, it doesn't really matter.
Being part of the DCFC family is what matters. We are Derby. Enjoy every game you go to and get behind the team.

If, as thought by some, the mRNA vaccines are causing immune issues, then it will eventually come out. It always does.
I just hope and pray that all the people who are concerned are wrong.
I think we are all a bit sceptical about the news we watch and read everyday. We all know that vested interests have some control over the spin how news is presented.
People need to talk more and share their own experiences with colleagues, family, friends etc. and listen and evaluate real life occurrences.
I have close family and friends who have had issues within a short time of receiving their covid vaccinations. Thyroid and Shingles issues have suddenly erupted from nowhere and caused people to have time off work. These were after their 2nd jab, they did not have any boosters after that. I know 3 people who died not long after vaccinations but they had major health problems before covid so were vulnerable anyway and may well have been struggling regardless.
Colleagues had blood clots soon after vaccination, rushed to hospital, very serious for a few days or weeks in some cases.
I have two close friends, one a Rams ST holder who I sit with and have known for nearly 40 years, who have been diagnosed with incurable cancers, doctors have told them they don't know why the aggressive cancers have sprung up so quickly, both have taken all the vaccinations.
Maybe because I work in a factory with 500 employees and they have tales to tell about their partners and families who work at JCB and a myriad of other large places in the area I hear loads of stuff that makes me think.
I know its all anecdotal and most people I know think I'm wrong for not having had a Covid vaccine, including close family and friends, but I am witnessing many fully vaccinated people struggling with chest infections that they cant shake off, immune system illnesses and the like.
I assume that the vast majority of those vaccinated are sound and healthy with no side effects, I certainly hope so.

sheeponacid reacted to tarranwilson in Mayor of Cheltenham Charity Collection
Good Afternoon Rams,
I hope no one minds me posting in here but I am a Cheltenham Town fan that comes in peace.
I am a member of the Mayor of Cheltenham's charity committee and in our game against the Rams on Saturday 14th January 2023, the Mayor of Cheltenham Charities will be bucket collecting to raise funds for Feed Cheltenham (https://feedcheltenham.weebly.com) and Cheltenham Housing Aid Centre (CHAC) (www.chac.org.uk)
Both of these charities do great work and more information can be found on their websites, links above.
We appreciate during these difficult times, finding extra money to support charity is difficult for all of us, but if all fans donated just 20p the potential is there to raise over £1000 for these incredible charities.
We will be able to take cash and card and look forward to welcoming you all to the Completely Suzuki Stadium on the day.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and good luck for the season.

I just want to see a fairer deal for all workers. It seems unfair that some prosper and others struggle perpetually. I don't think it's jealousy.

Many of those businesses are paying poverty wages, so maybe we should look into redistributing the wealth? We can afford to pay key workers a living wage if we are prepared to fund it. Back in the day we managed with less billionaires and families could get by on a single income and still afford a house and car - even families with modest incomes.

Sounds like you are doing the right things. The water bath is probably as important as putting feed out, particularly if we get another very frosty spell and there is little water for birds to drink or keep the insulating properties of their feathers in good order. I always say if you are going to feed birds in the garden, you need to do it consistently and certainly into spring to help them go into the breeding season in good condition. I like the idea of planting more berry producing shrubs, hawthorn is excellent but cotoneaster although not native, is a good producer of berries for thrushes. Think about increasing the flowers in the garden as these will attract insects which birds need during the summer to feed their young. Good luck!

Anybody twitching at the minute? Have a soft NY resolution to attract more wildlife/birds to our small Sheffield garden, mainly because we are over run with magpies and pigeons most of the time. Taking it all rather slowly and seeing what works but been out and got some feeders to compliment a rowan tree. We’ve had stuff coming to the feeders and fat balls but have not been at home to see what exactly, anyway yesterday I had a look out and saw a mistle thrush out there enjoying the berries on the rowan. It’s a little thing but I have to stress we’ve barely seen anything like that around us aside some swifts in summer, along with the result yesterday it made my day.
Anyway advice on what to add would be appreciated. I’m going to get a small bird bath for now and we are looking to add some hawthorn to get more berries/shrubbery then have a look at it all again in spring when it’s a bit warmer.
Also I picked up a bird house that I need to attach to the side of our house at some point.

sheeponacid reacted to Crewton in The Ukraine War
I think the more pertinent question is : are the majority of the new conscripts still drawn from the poorer, remote republics a long, long way from Moscow, or are recent recruits now more drawn from 'European' Russia? If it's the latter, that's more likely to affect public opinion overall than the former if there continues to be heavy casualties.

Working class people will die in battle and/or be left in abject poverty while the billionaires and oligarchs will create more wealth for themselves.
We never learn.

The unions haven't been infiltrated by politicians - Labour is the party of the unions. It was created by them, if anything Labour has been infiltrated by people trying to change the party's purpose.

sheeponacid reacted to GboroRam in The coronabrexit thread. I mean, coronavirus thread
Why do we try to pride ourselves on being expected to work when ill, when mentally we aren't able, and when the job is literally killing us?
Why do we talk down the idea of unions defending physical and mental health?
I don't see the sense in saying, I'm killing myself, you all should be doing the same.
Workers are racing to the bottom and taking pride in winning the race.
