Gap tooth ram reacted to RebelScum in Jake Brierley Port Vale (H) 08-10-22 Family Request
    Hi guys
My nephew, Jake passed away on August 12th aged 23. Despite being dealt a bad hand he enjoyed life to the full possessing a sharp, dry wit and a fondness for dressing well - the other thing we had in common ? was our love for Derby County!
Many of you will recognise Jake, a life-long season ticket holder in the West Stand attending matches with his Dad.
His family are orchestrating a minutes applause at the 23rd minute during the Port Vale home match on Saturday October 8th.
Extended family will be in attendance and there will be a brief write up about Jake in the match day programme.
These tributes are becoming more common, but I think that because they are often not official and fan-led they are even more poignant - and it would be a great gesture for one of our own.
Assistance in spreading the word from members of this forum would be so very much appreciated.

Gap tooth ram reacted to Gee SCREAMER !! in Serial Whingers Notts Forest playtime, which we simply cannot accept.
Blimey it's 3 in the morning and your on here .  There's rent free and then there's Pacific Heights.  Obviously, the sheer panic at having blown close to 100 million more than your promotion and parachute pay outs over 4 years, on long contracts, for a  load of rapidly depreciating s**** is keeping you up.  Every Forest fan I see at the minute has the face of a bulldog licking piss of a nettle.
Per your previous posts about enjoying Match of the Day, I did say I would enjoy watching your 45 seconds of airtime every week and indeed I am.  Please thank that cart house of a Captain and the other 75 players you have and do keep up the sterling work.
800k. Thats about a month of the tik tok stars wages.  Ask Birmingham about Bielik their paying it.
I don't know of any business that went under due to our administration.  Perhaps you could look closer to home at the 100k you owed to catering firms, that they had to take you to the high court under a winding up petition to attempt to get back as they laid of staff.
Try and get some sleep. a few betamax videos of the old days and a can of out of date Shipstones circa 81 dug out from that  box in the loft marked 'days from the 3 years we were relevant'  should send you off.

Just wanted to put in a good word for James, he worked tirelessly tonight against Grimsby and you can tell the crowd are on his side trying to get him his first goal which is refreshing to see.
He runs and runs and runs, is getting in the right positions and really pushes defenders back and out of place. Hoping his goal comes this week or as soon as possible and he can then carry on firing.

Gap tooth ram reacted to Day in Vote for Derby to be named the home of Great British Railways (GBR)
Derby has taken a step closer in its bid to become the new home of Great British Railways (GBR).
The city is one of six locations to be shortlisted from 42 expressions of interest across the UK. The chosen city will become the HQ for the new organisation which has been created to deliver a simpler, better railway for everyone in Britain. The other shortlisted cities are Birmingham, Crewe, Doncaster, Newcastle and York.
Bringing GBR to Derby would be extremely beneficial for the region and would help to level up the area, which is why we’ve badged our bid and campaign as the ‘East Midlands’ vote. The winning location will also see the move of highly skilled jobs and investment outside of London into our region.
Why we believe that Derby and the East Midlands is the perfect choice for GBR:
One of the first great British railway towns The only city to have manufactured rolling stock continuously since 1840 The East Midlands is the geographic and strategic heart of Britain’s railway Home to Europe’s largest cluster of private-sector rail businesses A centre of railway skills with over 11,000 highly-skilled rail employees based in the Derby area and 45,000 rail-related jobs across the East Midlands During the bidding process we reached out to Local Authorities across the East Midlands and received backing from Derbyshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Leicester and Leicestershire, alongside 21 MPs from across the region. We now need your help to spread the word and help Derby and the East Midlands become the new home for GBR.
Please help us by sharing our campaign with your colleagues, stakeholders, friends and family and ask them to vote for Derby!
    How can you help
You can visit the Destination Derby website to learn more about the campaign and access our online toolkit for photos, logos and social media graphics.
We’ll be sharing messaging through the Derby City Council Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook pages throughout the campaign and public vote.

Please help to share these messages using #DerbyGBR and the national campaign #DestinationGBR or by sharing your own messages of support.

Forget the armband, just give him a permanent tattoo on his arm, he's our captain 24/7.

Gap tooth ram reacted to Loughborough Ram in Curtis Davies - signed 1-year deal
Curtis Davies has proven himself to be a selfless leader, a man who is prepared to risk his career to help the club.
If we fail to offer him a deal that he is happy with, knowing the realism he will judge that offer on, then I think that we will have let ourselves down as a club.
There is absolutely no chance that he is asking for a Kings ransom. Let's not forget that he could have already left for a championship Club, almost certainly offering him a big increase in wages, so money definitely isn't his motivation.
Just get a deal done because even with all the talk of quality additions coming in, if we let him go, we won't be as good as we would be with him in the team.
