An actual owner and so called fan taking our club into administration.....still can't quite believe it.....no one will change or stop my love for this club but agree with a few on here that football itself seems broken and am losing interest generally in the game....its not about football anymore it seems .....i grew up loving the game when it just seemed so much more in touch with the average working class fan ....now its about money and greed and what people can take out of the game....preferred the old days with no agents no bosman ruling where clubs got a fee for a player if he was valued and more honesty in the game .....sad times for our club and hardly slept a wink last night...._?

What can I say… So disappointed in the hierarchy at DCFC.
As people have said, some of my best days following this club have been in the old 3rd tier.. Different times I know but still great away days.  There are some BIG clubs in League 2, it could be good for us fans.
We are in a mess, we’ve been in a mes before.. Hopefully we can survive and put Morris well behind us.. No more, he’s local, he’s one of our own bollx.. Means nothing, absolutely nothing..
Ive said before, my love for football is declining quickly. Not just because of our situation but the PL, Champions League, money oriented bull poo. It’s not about us anymore, it’s about money. I suppose that is the world nowadays but to be honest, you can keep it.. Players kiss the badge, owners show up when time are good and disappear when it gets tough.. No honesty in pro football now.. It’s all false and I hate it..
I read this forum and feel for those who are starting out, those who it still means a lot to.. Even David, who runs a great forum but still has to make a living from it.. I see the DCFC adds have gone now, I hope it’s not too much of a hit for him. B4, absolutely gutted for him. It’s not the end mate, just a new chapter.. I know you will keep the faith but this is going to hit him hard. It’s not so much the EFLs fault fella (although they have stuck the knife in), it’s Morris, end of.

60 years old and been through most things with this club. I wish I could say I’m numb, I have been through most of his reign but to be honest… I’m absolutely gutted for the staff, the fans, the creditors and anyone else who truly love this poxy club..

The thing is with all these comments about Roos' performance (and keepers in general down the years) it's a team game and nowhere is that more obvious and important than that partnership between keeper and central defence. You get an understanding as you learn what the others are going to do in certain situations and what their strengths are.
From a keeper perspective, if you find that you don't trust your central defence as they sometimes lose a man or regularly get outjumped then you find yourself coming for crosses that perhaps you wouldn't. Likewise, as a central defender, if your keeper gets caught flat footed on his line and doesn't deal with crosses then you find yourself perhaps stretching for a header that you'd ideally leave for the keeper, possibly resulting in failing to clear the lines properly or heading vertically and chaos ensues. The opposition also notice and then just keep swinging it into the same zone of uncertainty.
Confidence breeds confidence in the partnership between central defence and keeper and while we'd ideally have slightly younger versions of Jags and Davies, their decision making is honed by years of experience and the keeper really benefits from this because some of the more risky decision making is made for you.
Really pleased for Roos and the defence last night. That was a massive test and they showed huge determination and resilience. Sure, West Brom probably should still have won but you give yourself a shot of getting something from the game if you make the opposition score their goals rather than gifting them freebies.

I agree because we got a point but going forward this season Bird gives us more control in the middle than Shinnie as he just gives the ball away to easily.

Totally agree on CKR without him the ball just keeps coming back and Shinnie the effort is there but his passing and control is pretty poor he should never start in front of Bird.

Toilets and concourse are effectively indoors, albeit admittedly well ventilated/draughty!
Seats may be covered, but effectively outside.
The point in wearing the masks in the first place is that we agree to, when buying a ticket.

Personally, being so close to so many for such a prolonged period, I’d feel a tad more comfortable for all to be wearing a mask even in the seats, for the duration of the game, but that ain’t gonna happen!
Before returning, I weighed up the pros and cons, and based on the rules (supporters COVID charter or some such title?) I decided to go for it.
Now knowing that the COVID charter isn’t worth the web page it’s written on, I’ve weighed up the pros and cons, and still decided to go for it!
Not 100% comfortable with it, but then I’m not 100% comfortable with the style of football/results/club politics either, but still keep going!
”A fool and his football club”, they do say!
I do however, find it all rather exciting and exhilarating, wondering whether l will die of COVID first, or see my beloved football club become extinct first!
“The thrill of not knowing”, they do say!  ??

If they are allowed to take time to dry the ball and take 2 minutes for every throw in, I don't see why we should rush with the goal kicks.

Watching the highlights on Sky, wow, their clear cut chances were really clear cut. It'll take us five games to create the same clear cut chances they had.
However, then you need luck and we got it.
I thought Davies was a monster tonight.

Based on the restrictions on us when he signed and his willingness to sign in that position, i think he is underrated and an excellent signing. We were hardly going to get Messi

We need to sign the next Bobby Davison.

Not sure its even about him acting as dad.
Its about his own actions of turning down taxis laid on by the club and then getting into a drunken colleagues car.

One issue here is that he was the elder player and club captain, as such he should have advised the other players to take a taxi home.
It was a complete lack of expected responsibility on his part

I was disappointed in both the signing and subsequent managerial appointment of Rooney, but I have to say I've been somewhat impressed by him this season. We've made a couple of shrewd signings under unprecedented circumstances and some of our build up play is fairly tidy. We're not in a good place, but I was honestly expecting a championship version of 07/08, so having 8 teams in the league that are worse than us (one being forest) is a welcome surprise. There's a lot going wrong at the club, but I think Rooney is one of the last ones that should receive blame at the moment.

I'll skip over the horrendous contradiction I've highlighted there...
The big issue wasn't just the fact we kept sacking managers and kept letting them rebuild the squad, it's the fact we kept appointing managers with a radically different style to the previous one.  If we'd gone the equivalent of like McLaren->Lampard->Cocu we'd have been in much better shape. They all play vaguely similar styles of football, with similar players in similar systems.  They're not identical obviously, but there's more similarity that not.  Instead we basically alternated between managers who wanted to play possession and managers who wanted to be very direct.
Looking from the outside, the whole thing just screamed reactionary thinking, with no clear sign of having an actual plan.  Players wilted second half of the season, get a manager in to kick up the backside. Bryson got injured, sign the most expensive midfielder we can find.  We need more goals, sign the top scorer in the league, even though he plays in a different position in a different system and hasn't scored for 3 months.  Our promising young left back isn't quite ready for the first team yet, so spend £3m+, prem wages and a long contract on Malone.  Just endless random decisions that don't tie up with any other decision being made at the club.
And the really frustrating thing is, Mel described the right plan almost exactly when he took over (the Derby Way stuff). He either never had the balls to follow through on it (being willing to say no to managers etc), or the knowledge to know why it wasn't working.

I actually have no problem with the managers he brought in sort from the fact none of them continued a style of play. For example, no one minded Rowett when we were 2nd in the league at Christmas. If we had then signed Warnock or Dyche etc we would have been able to move on from a style of play without ripping the team out.

If we had gone from Mac to Cocu or Thomas Frank. We wouldn’t have been signing Butterfield Johnson Anya Blackman etc. We would have just signed players that complimented what we had.

Unfortunately, every manager we have brought in wanted to rip the squad out and we ended up with Deadwood players that in all honesty we probably ruined their careers as well.

I do think he should have constantly had scouts looking for the next manager who could have worked with the players we had rather than just reacting to the scenarios.
