It was clear after Plymouth that out midfield wasn't working. Crying out for Knight there. He's not even put Oduroh on the bench to give himself the option to move Knight during the game.
That's Shrewsbury, Fleetwood and Lincoln which could yield 2 points. Nowhere near good enough.
Says the other week that nobody is guaranteed to start, mentioning players like Hourihane etc. Said he's not afraid to play these young lads, Oduroh and Rooney after they've done well in cup games. Yet the following game they don't make the bench.
Bird is woeful at the moment. Absolutely woeful. Doesn't bring anything to this side at all. But continues to play.

I haven't seen Roberts put in any-good balls so far. I see him get caught out a lot. Fozzy defo needs to start. Give Roberts a wake up call early. He wasn't very good IMO on Saturday.

The Lytton Arms pub in Stevenage is only a couple of Miles away Traditional pub with Real Ale and Craft ale well worth a visit.

Bird's problem is similar to Hughes'. He's not a flashy player, he's not scoring 30 yard screamers (regularly, the one against Stoke was a peach and I was so made up for him), or putting 10 goals in a season, or 20 assists. Also, he's now an established player. 41/46 in the champ last season, and with 2 years on his contract, Derby (now at least) can and will demand top dollar.
Look at the players that *have* been snapped up - yer Gordon's and yer Liam Delap's and so on. They've been posting good numbers at youth level, but also, as they haven't made first team games, Derby can't command much of a premium, so they're very low risk signings for the respective clubs.
Think Forest are a bit of an aberration, as far as the money they make on academy signings go - you don't see that happen at many clubs at all. Perhaps it's a marketing problem?
It's not too much of a leap to say our academy selling numbers would have looked far better if we hadn't been in the position we have. Williams, Plange, Ebiowei, Ebosele, Gordon, Kellyman all gone for relative pittances or compo by virtue of being in administration. Even £2m for each would have probably be 5x what we acheived.

I accept that Bremen can offer top tier football, but most of their signings are frees & their manager has never coached at the top level. I don't think it's the wisest move, and I think there's a bit of a legacy from Forest showing interest. I expect him to return to England within a year.

I think he's one of these players who thinks he's better than he is. Tbh, I am more disappointed in Marco Gabbiadini who I think is his agent. I don't think Buchanan has been well-advised, though Gabbiadini has shown himself adept at finding a contractual loophole.
