Honestly do not understand those who can’t see the positives in this.

Before this news, we had Appleby as only bidder, his offer rumoured not to be enough which made the prospect of a long protracted painful restructuring plan most likely and starting next season on -15 points. This bid takes that all off the table and also gives us the stability we need to keep as much of the squad together as possible and ensures we don’t sell prize assets for peanuts! Forest can duck off now they ain’t getting Buchanan unless they pay top dollar!!!
The potential delay with him being so late in the process is irrelevant (although looks like he’s moving quickly), due to embargo restrictions around admin we’re limited as to what we can do anyway, priority is to try and keep this group together and extend likes of Buchanan etc.
Also, if Appleby has serious backers he may come back for another bid. This can only be good news.
As for all the Geordie fans on Twitter (apart from the few who actually talk sense and say this is a good thing) Newcastle is a completely different situation to Derby. They’d just been in Champions League but that was all done with heavy spending from rich owners who were Geordie fans living the dream, not sustainable and saddled with debt when he took them over. Most Geordies were blissfully ignorant of the mess they were in. We’re at Rock Bottom, need saving, Ashley is perfect for us right now, there will come a time whether in the championship or premier league where we want more ambition but we’re miles away from that right now.

I said it earlier, but I'll say it again. What a brilliant job our academy players have done this season! Thompson was brilliant tonight, and Plange grabbed a goal, but we've really struggled with senior players this season, and our academy hasn't let us down one bit. Every one of them who have been called up has stepped up brilliantly. They're a credit to this club.

We remember how your fans supported us through our darkest hours.
We now have our club back and we are on our way back, but your fans were brilliant at Bloomfield Road singing all the Oyston out songs with us. We had a mini riot during that game, a night match and later that season, we started boycotting games home and away.
Word is, our fans are 100% behind you during this hopefully short term blip in your great clubs situation.
    Good luck from the Seasiders!

Mel needs to do the right thing, and make sure all of the small local businesses he shafted are repaid. He remains an extremely wealthy man. He should ensure no one’s livelihood is impacted by his folly.

    Totally unexpected but brilliant result.
Was unsure about the formation throughout but delighted to see Liam Thompson in. Thought we'd get countered a lot with a flat back 4 & two full backs that attacking but it initially enabled us to play high up the pitch. Great finish from Knight for the goal & it didnt feel at all underserved.
Obviously the equaliser was ridiculous & its high time we abandon this wierd Davies to Roos pass from goal kicks...I don't understand where the advantage is when the opposition have 3 players waiting to pounce. Theres little chance of playing it around them & we had Kazim on early as an outlet to go long. I'm also fast losing patience with Roos & his errors...cruel reality is he just hasnt developed into a reliable CH keeper despite plenty of chances. His spill late on nearly cost us the game too.
Bournemouth then grew in confidence & showed their class last 20 mins of the half & with their attacking outlets were always going to find joy against our back 4. Their second was entirely predictable st that stage & if Im honest, I didnt think we'd come back.
Massive credit then to the team for that second half display. Firstly, Lawrence really stepped up with a wonderful equaliser & then took reaponsibility for the penalty...brilliant play from Buchanan & Shinnie to draw the foul. Had almost forgotten what a Derby penalty looked like!
Great game management late on & real character to see it out. This is a group of players & a management team that are fighters and whatever off field humiliation we've had to suffer, they've done everything possible to put pride back into the shirt.
Love the defiance, love the intensity. COYR

Somebody said earlier this week that we should scrap the academy - I’m not so sure.

My mates lad plays in the academy and said to me recently how well all the staff have handled the situation and it’s as if nothing has happened since we went into administration. That only comes from great leadership.

People will blame Roos for that stupid, crazy goal, but it is entirely the fault of the coaching staff. What a stupid way to play. I'm also disappointed with Davies. Passing across the six-yard area with 4 Bournemouth players around our box. When they're pressing so high, just go long and cut all their players out of the game. Overload them further up the pitch.
    Utterly senseless and ridiculous.

There's a few things I want (for Christmas), among which:
I want to see us continue to fight with the amazing spirit shown so far - I don't want to see capitulation and if we do go down, as is sadly likely, we do so head held high, proud and fighting I want a new buyer in, without an ego, who is ready to bring real stability to this great club, and one ready to commit to at least the next decade, rebuilding a sustainable, successful club even if that happens to be in League 1 (for now).  I want our academy to continue to go from strength to strength, maintaining its status as one of the best in the country and for our U23s, U18s et al continue to be a success I want our Women's team to continue the excellent progress shown to date such that, with support and development it can establish itself as the one of the contending women's teams nationally (I won't say in the WSL specifically as we don't want the same issues as we're now in for the men!).  Oh, and I want a publicly available independent review of everything the EFL has done to so many great clubs, not just us, covering: their complete and utter inability to consistently protect and represent the members they claim to hold in such esteem whilst only seemingly looking after their own self-interests. operating a framework and infrastructure that enables, promotes and allows financial suicide to attain PL status and the financial rewards attached, their complete inability to consistently apply and understand their own rules, their inability to act in a timely fashion on key decisions, whilst at the same time imposing penalties on members for not acting in a timely fashion according to the EFL (allegedly) allowing external parties to influence decisions,  their penchant for showing hidden agendas on what they want (use of such phrases as "disappointing....") creating an environment that allows clubs to sue each other where the basis of the claims is as a result of the EFL's decisions, not the club being sued their seeming ability to ignore and not hold to account the many clubs blatantly ignoring the rules, gaining promotion and not being held to account not fighting for their members by allowing and accepting horrendous TV deals / parachute payments that by their nature create a massively disproportionate financial tier system in the leagues (one of the reasons they hated MM from the get go). I'm sure there's more but I've run out of puff
