May Contain Nuts reacted to BramcoteRam84 in '8 more players' - what now?
This could be our team in the not too distant future.
                              Roos
    Byrne       Jagielka    Davies   Buchanan
                      Knight.    Bird
           Jozwiak    Morrison   Sibley
                         Lawrence
Bench: Allsop, Forsyth, Shinnie, Baldock, Stearman, Stretton, Ebosele
    Keeper suspect.
Defence - Top half quality - Two top 6 level full backs, a top 6 centre back in Jags (still), Davies still solid at this level.

Midfield - Knight - international linked with prem move, Bird looking back to form he was in under Cocu when he was being linked with prem moves. Yes young but certainly top half standard, level could dip at times.
Forwards - Jozwiak - international and top 6 class, Lawrence - international and top 6 class, Sibley - top half minimum massive potential, Morrison - top 6 class minimum.
As for bench, both Shinnie and Fozzy solid at this level (the latter was outstanding on Saturday), Stearman still ok lower championship standard, as is Baldock. Stretton looks a serious talent and will get goals (only denied by good defending on Saturday and top class goal v Peterborough). Ebosele is electric.
And we’ve not even mentioned Bielik coming back!!!!
It really doesn’t look that bad to me. Add to that the way we’re now looking to play football on the front foot. We’ve created chances in most games, yes we need to start taking them but we’re only 5 games into working on a new style of play. Keep playing like this we will score goals.
It’s a lazy argument to say we scored 36 goals last season and we haven’t addressed it. There were many games last season where we created nothing. Im not seeing that so far this season.
We will know more after 10-12 games but we don’t look like relegation certainties (assuming no huge points deductions come our way), and at worst we have enough to get ourselves to the next transfer window still well in contention to survive and (hopefully) we will be able to actually operate in the transfer market by then should we need to.

"He's playing in a role that's a bit different for him, as a lot of the guys are, but I thought he was fantastic. He's got a lot to really work on, but he has a lot work with.
He's been great since we came in. Really positive. He has a lot of attributes. It's about finding the best way to utilise him and tonight he's done himself the world of good.
I think that'll really help him psychologically more than anything to really feel he's learning that position and that he's growing into it. He's put himself in a really positive light."

If he goes then presumably Rosenior steps up, he's supposedly the more tactically minded of the two so I don't think our attempted style would change much. I guess then we'd see how much credit he should take for the changes we've made this season.
If Rooney went though likely so would Morrison, and we'd be another good player light. Hard to say what Rooney leaving would do for the morale of the rest of the players at this stage.

He does. Currently the signs are positive that he can, even if it does feel a bit like being forced not to play CKR & Lawrence for a couple of games has been the making of us playing better football, or rather making the tactics work.
The tactics had a good base for success but not necessarily the way we played them against Huddersfield & the first half against Peterborough.
Who knows though, he was working on the assumption of a fit CKR meaning we couldn't bring Baldock in - if he'd been allowed both he may even have dropped CKR from the starting lineup. Can't quite use the same logic for Lawrence, who actually seems to fit the false 9 a little better than the no. 10 role he would have had behind CKR.

When Bielik was in the team we had a run of 12 games with only 4 conceded, 8 clean sheets.
Wisdom played 90 minutes in 11 of those games (10 at CB, 1 at RB) - a real mix of teams: Coventry, Brentford, Stoke, Swansea, Preston, Birmingham, Sheff Weds, Rotherham, Bournemouth, QPR, Bristol C - including 7 clean sheets, 6 of them coming with him at CB (although possibly in a 3)
Not sure this proves anything other than, once again, how good Bielik is, I just remember plenty of people were praising Rooney for 'sorting out the defence' - Wisdom was a part of that.
Just like all the other defenders we've had over the years - he's capable of being part of a team which sets new defensive records with adequate midfield protection, but equally being part of a team who look hopeless and let in goals like a sieve without it!

Hendrick could make another 300 PL appearances playing for teams like Burnley & Newcastle but I honestly don't take the simple fact of making lots of PL appearances as proof of a good career.
If he'd spent the last few years being traded around high end Championship teams, being a standout performer,  impacting more games, scoring more goals I'd consider that a better career being consistently unremarkable worker in unremarkable teams, getting by doing the bare minimum I'd actually consider that a better career than the one he's having.
What's he really got to remember about anything in the past 5 years that beats what he experienced here under McClaren? He must be bored 'whitless'

It's a shame people can only form their opinions on players based on what Sky pundits (who are paid to create talking points) and slow motion replays tell them.
If you look at Fozzy's "stamp" in real time, he is just trying to extricate himself from the tangle. Not looking, no intent but they insist on making a meal of it.
Similarly the Forest equaliser in real time - appalling marking, crisp shot. Roos did well to nearly get down to it and many keepers (Marshall included) wouldn't have got anywhere near. But play it in slo-mo, it's suddenly an "error".

I thought he was very unfortunate to be substituted this afternoon.  Morrison had exhausted himself first half (he was everywhere).
    Jozwiak was excellent.

I actually think Stretton coming on started to give us a bit of a foothold in the final third as the ball stuck more when we cleared. (Compared to the second half without him)

You mean like when he made that outstanding fingertip save when there was just as much pressure?
it was a mistake for sure, but those suggesting Marshall is better (not saying you are one of those by the way) are conveniently forgetting similar blunders from him.

The thinking is to draw players out of position and in turn create space for the defenders and midfielders to play with so we can play out from the back. With Roos looking to hit either full back if they are in space.
The problem isn't so much this as a tactic but it was failing in part because our supply line out of the left side of our side is wonky.

I really don't understand why the club can't offer fans without a printer the opportunity to come to the ground a bit earlier and print there. I was on a plane the other day. At the airport they had a simple option of scanning your id in, finding your booking in the system and then being able to quickly print off your ticket. Doesn't need to be even this complex, a few laptops linked up to a few cheap printers would suffice.
I think some aren't bothering because they don't have printers but I think some might not be bothering because they feel like the club isn't bothered about them and appears to be unwilling to put simple solutions in place to help them. This I think has upset a lot of people and you can't blame them.
The club is a business and should be ran as such where the customer/fan is treated with kindness and respect. Sadly this is not the case right now.

It would be the first thing he's got right in his entire twitter history if it was true, and that's even when you consider you can absolutely fluke the impression you know something, and most fake ITKs end up with a higher rate of accuracy by pure chance.
If I was to say Roos upset Rooney last week by swearing on Radio Derby and so he's been dropped for Allsop, and tomorrow morning it was revealed that Roos is ruled out having tested positive for Covid I'd still have more credibility than BTR.

    Yes, I know.
But if they're placing their trust in the opinion of professional accountancy firms, don't want to go to the length of auditing things themselves, their only rule is that the club's accounts meet industry standards and a club uses a professional accountancy firm who sign off the accounts as compliant with industry standards then they shouldn't then be able to go an pick and choose who's opinion they take as fact later on.
If they've washed their hands of the responsibility themselves it's rather taking the piss to expect to be able to refute the findings of the very people they've ceded responsibility to, not once but twice, until they find someone to agree with them, but such is their biased and ridiculous system that here we are...
If a club has used a recognised accountancy firm and there's no evidence of influence or illegal practices that should be the end of it as far as the EFL is concerned.

Regulations that didn't exist, and as far as I'm aware still don't. A preference isn't a regulation.
