Rich84 got a reaction from Comrade 86 in Derby v Stevenage FC - Match Day Thread
You really need to take a break from arguing for arguments sake as it's making you look foolish imo. Anything of value in some of your comments are lost in stuff like this.....
We absolutely set up to play to his strengths, just like we had set up for Collins better this year, hence JC's better returns than last.
For your argument to work, then he would have at least matched last year's stats this year with dropping down a division, so go check them out.... to get to the same level this year he will have to create 3 and score 10 in approximately the next 5 games worth for Notts....... hmmm, maybe its because they aren't set up purely for him as they play another striker up top?
So as your argument is that league 1 is poor (but not as poor as this year mind) and just him doing his thing last year afforded him all those goals, then it stands to reason league 2 must be better then?

Plenty were when Waghorn had his little purple patch before getting injured.
Washington was always a risk as he was injured, but is Waghorn's injury record that bad? He could easily have had a similar impact as McGoldrick at this level if he'd stayed fit.
As we saw in Jan, the market we are shopping in isn't great, we can't get any better with our budget with those willing to come, hopefully there will be more wiggle room in the summer.

Rich84 reacted to jono in Paul Warne
It’s not that I am pro or anti. It’s that the anti mob are so irritating. The so called pro side tend to reflect on the good and the bad. The anti are just fixated, win or lose. Never give an inch, dull, obsessed, spoilt, churlish and without perspective. I suspect that Those of us, (me included ) that are vaguely supportive, only post in a vain attempt to balance the one eyed vitriol.
Dreading Saturday .. looking like 4 strikers all injured, but it will be completely Warne’s fault if we lose, or pure luck if we win. Like a horrible scratched record.

WRT Brown, the 28 days minimum before recall is the 20th I believe, so if we chose to he'd be available for Barnsley.
Not sure you'd want to be throwing any, including Brown, into the starting 11 with the pressure they'd be under and our quick to whinge fan base, especially at home, maybe on the bench, but if NML or Barks goes central then we still have Wilson, CBT, Sibley with Weston as the extra back up for the 2 of the 3 behind now Bird is playing more advanced.

Warne Haters: 'We've got the best squad and biggest budget, we should be walking this league'
Also Warne Haters: 'We should have signed more players'

Well I wouldn't say Washington was an exciting signing but with his record at this level he looked a decent signing.
As for Waghorn you may want to revisit what people were saying after his hat trick at Peterborough.

Rich84 reacted to Returning ram in Derby v Shrewsbury Town - Match Day Thread
Derby lost DM, Knight, Dobbin, Robert's, Davies, have two forwards out injured...I could go on.
-
Rich84 reacted to G STAR RAM in Anything positive to take from yesterday moving forwards?
We picked up a point and 2 better goal difference on Peterborough.
A team that was promoted in September (Oxford) failed to win.
And 2 teams promoted in January (Peterborough and Bolton) failed to win.
Adams is looking like a decent addition.
Cashin will be back soon
Washington will be back soon.
We have yet to unleash CBT.

Rich84 got a reaction from Crewton in Warne Out Out
Am I missing remembering yesterday's game, but didn't we concede when we were playing with a back 4...... but not when we had a 3, yes we were mote attacking after switching, but that was as much to do with the tempo and energy increasing imo
-
Rich84 reacted to angieram in Warne Out Out
Warne will always err on the side of caution. That's my biggest worry about him.
Saying we needed three at the back to compensate for Cashin doesn't exactly demonstrate he has confidence in the rest of our defence.
Keeping CBT on the bench, when he might show a bit of spark up front? Give him 20 minutes.
Should have started the game more attacking and then shored it up at the back if we needed to. Instead, he'd only got less defensive subs to bring on having used the "solid" players to start with.
I don't think 8 shots in 90 minutes is an acceptable return yesterday.
He set the dour tone from the off, gave Shrewsbury a platform to hold on to , one goal is never enough at our level.
Maybe away from home it would have been justified, but we aren't going to score goals when we always seem to be playing with the handbrake on.

Rich84 got a reaction from jimtastic56 in January Reinforcements
@jimtastic56 Do you even read what others have posted?
Not speculation or pot stirring for the sake of it, the compensation for developed players is very clearly specified, and as @Crewtonsaid, @Ghost of Cloughhas on numerous occasions shared that breakdown for the rest of us.
The only real risk to getting a decent fee was if he went abroad, as I don't think the compensation is quite as good as domestic transfers

Seemingly outplayed by Buxton?
adult football is so so different to academy football. Most of these lads are nowhere near first team ready yet (and that’s no criticism) so the constant hankering for them to be given first team minutes right now is frustrating.
-
Rich84 got a reaction from Crewton in Max Bird - flew the coop to Bristol City, loaned to us to end of season
From what Warne has said, he has stated he wants a change and was never going to sign a new contract irrespective of whether we went up, it happens in all walks of life, he's been here since a kid, so longer than most players stay at 1 club.
-
Rich84 reacted to DJAY in Dwight Gayle - Signed until the end of the season
That doesn't really help us now, in order for them to join us before the next window I believe the contract needed to have been cancelled before the window closed (hence why Gayle did it when he did). So basically we know the pool of players we can sign before the window reopens.
-
Rich84 got a reaction from Comrade 86 in Dajaune Brown - loan to Gateshead until end of season
Amazing how everyone knows how he's performing in training better than the coaching staff, because thats what they will be making their decisions on, yes he looks decent in the age group levels because of his physicality, just as we've had in the past, Ball anyone?!? Or Whittaker more recently where his physical advantage was pace at youth level, what did most do to him when he was thrown in?
But without that edge he's looked like he's been struggling whenever he had an opportunity, didn't he start in one of the cup games and had a shocker? And that's not even against regular L1 players....
I've also wanted to see us bring thru the academy lads, but maybe this opportunity to play against men regularly for a month may be just what he needs to be a viable option for our run in where we can recall him in 4 weeks...
-
Rich84 got a reaction from DB83 in Where do you think we'll finish this season?
Weirdly, I think injuries may have an influence but the opposite, as they start clearing up over the next 4 weeks we will have a stronger squad available for the run in than now.
Just need a certain JC to not pick one up in the next 3-4 weeks or get a couple of yellow cards....
