  1. He's definitely got all the right attributes that we've been looking for.

Pace, skill, League One and Championship experience, a good pedigree at youth level and nowhere near 30 years old.

After seeing him against our u18s in the season we won the u18 league, I thought he was one of their best players alongside Saka. Surprised he's not gone on to better things, but hopefully he can sign with us and show us what he's capable of and we might have a chance of making the deal more permanent. His contract is over at the end of the season and I doubt that Arsenal will be looking to offer him a new one at 22 when you see them looking to offload Balogun now.

I'd be very happy with this signing and hopefully we can see more of the player he was at youth levels.

  2. I seem to remember John-Jules being a threat in our successful u18 season. Obviously had a few injury issues that have curbed his progress, but could hopefully be a fantastic bit of business. If it’s 6 months it probably helps us in case he gets another long term injury and we need to use his loan spot in January for someone else.

Probably wears them out dancing on Tik Tok videos.

And what's this thing where players, Cashin is one, tear their footy socks? Are they too tight? Get a bigger size. Sheesh.

Bigger socks are for larger feet, not for larger calves. The holes reduce pressure on the calf muscle and allow blood circulation.

Amazing the number of poeple who appear to have heard / been told about Fornah yet no journalist has yet bothered to do a story on it, especially with the Forest angle. Would surely be an easy win for their credentials.

How many of these journalists picked up on the Ward, Elder or Wilson story before they happened. Pretty sure all of them were talked about amongst fans before a “credible” journalistic source reported anything.

OK I might have to hold my hands up here to be done by fake news, there was a link  on Elon.com and it took me to the derby website and to an interview with Cash saying he had signed a 2 year contract. Someone I think might have been very clever. I checked it twice.

Now I am thinking that this was a link to an old interview????? Sorry if not true but the person who did it shoould get an award for the item

As long as the exclusionary factor isn't their criminal record, as previously stated that's illegal.

I don't think he'd want to be playing in League 1 anyway, so we can probably draw a line under this in this thread. He'll have overseas offers if he wants to earn anywhere close to what he currently gets.

Midfielder sounds like the Fornah rumour coming to fruition.

The more legs everywhere because we've been caught on the counter comment would seem to add a bit of validity to the Yiadom rumours, as he'd be quicker than our current defenders and give us different formation options.

Then a little bit about attackers at the end of the video, but it doesn't sound close there. I think we need to see how Waghorn and Washington take their chances at starting along with returns for Barkhuizen and Sibley. Midfield and defence needs to be the focus again after the start we've had to the season.

Funny how we were joking about winning all our matches 1-0 before the season, now we'd be very happy if that was the case.

  8. Yes, we come top by average age, but if you took loans out of that list I don't think we'd be top then. What's most interesting to me is the fact that other teams have all been utilising the loan market and we've not made any moves in that regard at all.

We've been told (or led to believe) that the best players will become available for loan towards the end of the window, but is this actually true?

I was kind of expecting Portsmouth level activity over the summer. A couple of cheap signings, some loans, some frees and a low average age. But for whatever reason, it hasn't happened. Couple of weeks of window left before we really hit the panic stations.

I personally think Korey Smith is underrated by some Rams fans

If we need to replace one of Smith, Bird or Hourihane with a more combative CDM type to get the most out of the squad then he would be the first one to drop. He's not a bad bench option and his versatility to also fill in at RB is helpful.

well, it's a body. Even if it's someone to replace Smith for the last 20 mins in games and start in cup games, it's better than where we are now.

I'd hope that anyone coming in for that position might be better than Smith. I like Korey, but he is a bit limited in our midfield and not exactly the physical presence I think we need to allow other midfielders to flourish. After the second half at the weekend, I think Smith seems like the weak link in our midfield, but he is more than adequate squad cover for a couple of positions.

  11. Oooh, a rumour of an incoming signing that isn't over 30! But he's from Forest...

In all seriousness though, he could be a good addition. Seemed to have a strong start at Reading last season, before dropping out of favour when the whole team form dropped off a cliff. His contract is up at Forest after this season and I doubt they're thinking of keeping him on, so if we get him in and he does well, then maybe a good free transfer next summer.

More of a defensive midfielder, with a decent engine, so I imagine it would free up Bird/Hourihane to get involved further up the pitch and hopefully shield the defence a little bit.

I said at the beginning of the window, we will be linked with Sharp all window, he will turn us down last minute and we will end up signing a young crap striker from Tottenham.

I guess if Kane's move to Munich falls apart last minute we are the natural second choice for him 😉

In all seriousness though Soonsup-Bell or Dane Scarlett from their u21s might be pretty useful signings for us.

Who actually designs these shirts Umbro?

Why not get some students from Derby University or get fans to submit designs in a competition so we could vote for our favourite, non of these designs make me want to rush out and buy any of them.

As someone that works as a designer (I've dabbled with kits and apparel for some sports teams) and has seen first hand some submissions for fan related designs in a social media competition (for a different sports team), I'm very happy with this seasons kits so far.

Everyone will have an opinion on the kits and you will never have a design that the whole fan base will unanimously get behind. Leave it to the professionals to do the design work. There's more to it than just putting some colours and patterns on a shirt template and making sure the logos are in the correct places.

  14. That blue kit could be awesome if the blue colours are a bit more subtle in shade against one another on the final garment.

maybe the leak will get the club to push through their official launch now and we can see the real deals.
