  1. Away in Japan visiting family at the moment, so was asleep through the match. Woke up to the score notifications on my phone and saw Cashin had scored the winner.

Thought we’d given away a 2-goal lead and then nicked it, but further scrolling back through notifications showed a lovely comeback win from 2 down.

Ive read through all the pages here and was laughing to myself during the first half posts. Great belief by the team and some of the posters on here though and we win again.

Think I wrote a song in 1986 in a club competition for a new chant - anyone else remember if this was real or just me dreaming of better days?

Think it was something to the hit tune of Bryan Adam’s Everthing I do I do it for you

Amazing you wrote the tune to "Everything I do" about 5 years before Bryan Adams did. Did you receive royalties? Could've helped out during the admin years that...

All the street parking around the ground is only permit required Monday to Friday. Nothing at the weekends.

Im parking 5 minutes walk away.

Depending which road you choose good luck getting out easily. Can get congested on match days around here. I live a 20 minute walk away from the ground and a lot of Orient fans prefer to park a bit further away to get a clean run out after the match.

  4. They highlight the timeframe of February 2023 with a downturn in her mental wellbeing. You can join the dots, but someone joined Sheffield United Women's team then and was suspended following her death. The names not being published whilst investigations are under way, but I think it's much deeper than just about how much she was earning.

It's a decent side, I do wonder though if Bellingham plays that 5 or 10 yards further forward now, that makes it difficult to play Maddison with him

Bellingham is playing well as a CAM at Real Madrid, but it doesn't mean he can't do the hard yards in a slightly deeper role that allows Maddison to attack.

If we wanted to allow Bellingham to operate in his Real Madrid role, then I'd probably put Trent into his midfield position and use Maddison as an impact sub when needed.

  6. When I read the news earlier I was too shocked and saddened to process it.

Like many have said, although we've not met, he was such a character you felt like you've spent a lifetime talking with him down the pub. The type of conversations where your mates trying to pick you up after a bad day. His posts would always be a highlight in any thread.

38 is no age, but hopefully he is at peace and will be able to look down and see the Mighty Rams go from strength to strength on their charge up the leagues and to the Champions League final in a few years. Of course mainly with lads from the academy.

I love the "Be More B4" idea and hope that all of us can bear him in mind when things aren't going so great and we can add some positivity to the forum in his absence.

    RIP Daniel 🖤 🤍

With the highly pressurised environment football has become and with how precise (and boring) systems and tactics are becoming… ever wonder what would have happened in his second spell if we just said “do what you want, have fun and skin a few full-backs”?

He was already a shadow of himself then. I wonder more about what would've happened if Liverpool hadn't recalled him during his loan spell and where we could've gone with him. So many different scenarios, but we are where we are now.

Serie A isn't that good you have to look at the draw those teams had, beating someone like Benfica isn't a real tough test compared to Real Madrid or Bayern. Honestly nobody is that good, Arsenal could win the f****** champions league honestly because bar City,Madrid(iffy defence with Joselu upfront), and Bayern maybe.. nobody is that good. Relative to the 2010s the standard is very weak now especially in defence.

So the Champions League is weak now? What is a competition we should judge the top players who play in Europe by?

Arsenal actually have a very good team, their weakness last year was strength in depth, which they haven't really fixed in defence with the long term injury to Timber. I would say La Liga standard is worse than Serie A currently, with Bundesliga closely in 4th place. These are the top leagues in the world still and anyone who can compete at the top end of them and have an impact for a big team (Tomori) is worth more than someone who can't even get in a team ahead of someone filling in in their secondary position.

Maguire hasn't let Southgate down. He has been at fault for goals England have conceded recently, but one player doesn't make a team. Southgate needs to be giving the players a chance that have earned a call up through their recent performances, otherwise we get to a point where a whole load of players retire and we have a bunch of players who haven't got the required international experience trying to gel as a team.

Can't believe he has dropped Tomori from the squad for tonight's game.

This isn't a Derby bias by the way, he plays against the best Italian players every week and knows the league well, an important first team player at centre half for AC Milan. Oh well, lets pick Harry Maguire instead who is 4th choice centre back at Man Utd. It genuinely feels like Southgate is going to pick his favourites for the next tournament, not bother thinking of the future and leave at the end of the Euros with all these senior players who aren't kicking a ball regularly.

It's a horrendous choice in my opinion (not that Southgate cares what I think). I also mentioned up thread that Tomori has been part of one of the most solid Serie A defences the last few seasons. This year the only match they've lost is when he was suspended (for a second yellow in the previous match that was dubious). His team got to the semi-finals of the Champions League last year, thanks to some solid defending.

Harry Maguire can only dream of having the impact the last few seasons that Tomori has had.

  10. No doubt Tomori will spend the the two matches sat on the bench without getting a look in... again.

What does Southgate need to see from him to give him his chance at starting? AC have lost one match all season, to Inter, and Tomori was suspended for that game. In the 8 games he's played for Milan this season they have conceded 3 goals, and in the match he was suspended they scored 5. That's how important he is to their team. Why can't Southgate see it?

He is a game changer. He makes the rest of the defence better. Nelson has improved immensely. We are also now far more likely to play with a back 4 which isn't great news for Wilson and Ward.

I think Wilson and Ward can play higher up if needed. Certainly takes the pressure off relying on NML pace for too long in a game.

Also, I believe Nyambe can play RCB in a back 3 if Warne goes back to that at some point.

  12. A couple of options from me.

    Firstly 3 at the back:

    Wildsmith

    Nyambe     Nelson     Cashin

    Ward          Fornah      Bird          Forsyth

    John-Jules                   Sibley

    Waghorn

    Then a back four:

    Wildsmith

    Ward    Nelson    Cashin    Forsyth

    Hourihane    Fornah     Bird

    John-Jules        Sibley

    Waghorn

Fornah has offered some mobility in defence, so could cover for Ward when he's attacked up the pitch. I really want to see TJJ and Sibley link up. I think they'd suit each other a lot. Waghorn for his strength and his work off the ball as well as his finishing at this level.
