He’s just making sure it looks like the next manager is doing a good job when they start.

Anyone have any info on who the triallists were? Hopefully we're looking to fill out the academy with some more talent and drive forward again.

Yes, shot number 2
Apologies, I misread your post and missed that bit on there.

Burton had 6 shots in total.
1 - Long shot from 25 yards which dribbled along the floor towards Wildsmith
2 - Davies failed to incept the pass which deflected off Cashin (the shot which hit the post)
3 - Long shot from 30 yards which didn't have enough pace on it to cause real issue. You could argue Hourihane wasn't close enough to his man, but he obviously did enough to make the attacker think a more than hopeful shot was the best option.
4 - Did the freekick from 35 yards count as a shot?
5 - The tame header resulting from the freekick counted as a shot too
6 - Header from a corner which went over the barDidn’t they hit the post early on?

It'll be an unchanged starting XI unless there's some injuries we aren't currently aware of.

Didn't we basically fund Ipswich building much of their current promotion winning team with the money we spunked on waghorn?
Why can't we find a one season wonder who some maniac will give us 5mil for....
We wouldn’t be allowed to spend any of that money until next summer unless the business plan gets adjusted.
FWIW I think we need to stick with Warne this summer and see what he can do with a larger squad with players that fit a few other positions.
Yes, the current form is terrible and seeing the team fail to string together more than a handful of passes on a regular basis is really frustrating, but we are watching a team who have ran out of steam with no back up options in the squad. I remember when we were all enjoying the winning run and the same team was playing good, fluid football. So we know that with the right players and fitness levels that Warne can get his teams playing good stuff.
Let’s hope for a decent end to the season, without too many high expectations. Get behind the team and show them our appreciation for their efforts over a tough slog of a season and get ready for some transfer activity in the summer where we can actually build a closer to full strength squad for next year.

an empty gesture
what they dont mention is they are still allowing sleeve sponsors, so sleeve sponsor values will just go up, and shirt sponsors will probably go down - in the end it wont make much difference except BET52134.china will be on a teams sleeve instead of the front
I didn't even read the article and thought this to myself.
Yes, the front of the shirts is no longer an option, but the sleeves are, and I guess the ban doesn't cover training kits or the possibility that EPL clubs might even be allowed to add back of shirt or shorts sponsors soon, like in the EFL.
Unless they ban all betting sponsorship (which they never will), then it's very much a non-story and nothing to celebrate.

Is he available to us if we do get to the play-offs? Birmingham's season will be over, and as people have alluded to, he could make a real difference to this team right now.

Says he’s aware that the squad needs some surgery but didn’t have this view (in public) in January.
Our poor performance in the transfer market really has bummed us.
Yes I know we can’t pay fees but still our lack of movement was disappointing. Said it earlier in this thread, Warne doesn’t seem to have to a silver tongue regarding transfers.
He needs us to win a few before now and the summer or his job will be close to untenable. Providing he does this then he’ll need to get us playing in 4th and 5th gear regularly next season when at the moment we can’t get out of 2nd.There’s not a lot of option in January at the best of times, let alone when you’re being restricted to notransfer fees, loan fees, agent fees and a strict wage budget.
I didn’t expect much to happen in January, but we were led to believe a couple of times that some signings were imminent and didn’t happen.
The squad is now showing the signs of the strain of PW’s style. However, with a larger pool of players as options in the summer and the new recruitment guy from Oxford on board, I am hopeful we can put together a squad that can meet the tough physical demands of the style of football we were witnessing up to January.

Safegate doing what Safegate does...
Tomori, Balogun, Abraham, Angel Gomes and maybe Mavididi (soft spot because he's a Derby-born lad) deserve a look at some point, but the net seems to only go as far as the EPL - with Bellingham being considered because of the hype before he'd even left to play in Germany.
I would hope that some of the players in that squad are nowhere near contention by the time the tournament comes around.

Scott Malone as the best left-back since Clough? I know people turned on the lad after the way he left, but Buchanan was much better for us than Malone ever was.
I'd also choose Byrne or Bogle over Christie at RB.

I've been pleased to hear Warne talking about getting his best players in the starting 11. I think we've seen this season he thinks Fozzy is better than Roberts and Sibley is better than Rooney and Davies is better than Rooney, so if Sibley's fit I think this will be it. And it will give a whole new attacking dimension to our midfield with both Knight and Sibley able to carry the ball forward at pace through the middle and NML and Barks on the wings. Terrifying if you have to defend against it.
Forsyth and Cashin have to be first choice CB pairing at the moment. I love Davies, but he isn't up to the pace at the moment. He struggled last night and he should be used sparingly to protect narrow leads in tight games.
If you want to move Sibley into midfield (if he's available for selection after injury) then Roberts stays at LB. He's done well there and was one of our brighter sparks last night.

So how does the number of loanees named in a matchday squad work ?
I thought you could have quite a few loanees at the club but you can only name 5 in a matchday squad ?
If so, that's 1 who will be permanently named as we need a goalie on the bench, so this slightly restricts our other loan signings to 4 in a matchday squad.
McGee GK, Lewis Dobbin, Haydn Roberts , possible striker with Osula gone and maybe 1 other, CB or RB ?
It doesn't affect us unless we actually have more than 5 players on loan at the club, which we don't, as you've stated.
I can't see us brining in any more than one more on loan tbh and in a scenario where we may need to drop a loan player from the squad, I'd say that McGee would be first to be dropped and Loach would warm the bench in case of emergency.

It was a ridiculous attack. They were throwing bricks randomly as we came out of the ground. Even in these days where hooliganism is scarce at grounds, queuing for the Tube at West Ham can still be uncomfortable for away fans. I have little time for them at all.
Fortunately, you don’t need to go to West Ham station to get to their ground anymore. The Olympic park is easy enough to get around safely and the short walk to the Westfield where Stratford station is is quite safe and well patrolled by police on match days.
