SSD got a reaction from RadioactiveWaste in Elliot Embleton - signed on a season-long-loan - cancelled
I remember the video of him joining the club and he looked miserable as anything, he got a fair amount of stick for it. I felt really bad for him. He spent 8-9 months getting back fit for Sunderland, he was one of their best players when they got promoted in League One. He was probably expecting to go straight back into their first team squad. Instead their manager at the last minute tells him sorry, Derby want you on loan and you won't play, pack your bags and off you go. It seemed very rushed. Believe he got told in the morning then drove down the same day to sign on deadline day.
Very unfortunate that he got an injury again so soon after joining us. Good luck.

SSD reacted to angieram in Paul Warne, League 1 Manager of the Month
Congratulations to Paul and his team and very well-deserved.
I always think a Management team's job is a frustrating one, because if you win it's in spite of you, when you lose it's all your fault.
Enjoy the moment, get your heads down and carry on the good work.

SSD got a reaction from angieram in EFL TROPHY
In an era of billionaire football clubs, any trophy is a success in my book. Let's face it, we've got a slim chance of winning the big one again. Fa Cup or League Cup possibly although Man City love winning those domestic cups. Any trips to Wembley I'll treasure, that's why I love football. To win a competition will live in the memory forever. Promotions and Wembley, that's what we remember.

SSD reacted to Jourdan in Has Warbeball really changed (not negative just a question)
I think this idea that Warne doesn’t like technical players is a myth, to be honest.
Over his time here, he has shown he will play players who earn his trust and the more technical players have usually been the ones to do that.
He plays Bird and Hourihane in midfield at every opportunity for starters and neither player could ever be considered a ‘runner’. Players like Mendez Laing and Wilson are favoured over less technical players like Ward and Barkhuizen. Forsyth and Nelson are preferred to Elder and Bradley because they are better technically.
McGoldrick was our best player last season and played at every opportunity under Warne too.
Warne values pressing, running and the fitness of his players, absolutely. But clearly he also appreciates that you need good, technical footballers to reap the rewards of that.

SSD reacted to Steve Buckley’s Dog in Fleetwood Away Match Thread
I’m glad we won. 3 really important points. Made it difficult though. I don’t like us with 3 at the back, they seem to hand over responsibility to each other. Elder and Bradley were pathetic for their goal. Still, onwards and upwards.

SSD got a reaction from Caerphilly Ram in Fleetwood Away Match Thread
Can understand going to 5 at the back away from home. Leaked in a few goals, no Nyambe. Hopefully this isn't another time where Warne goes back to his beloved system and it's horrible. I think we will breeze through so regardless of players of system, the Rams will get a result.
