  1. I'm a little surprised about the performance. I genuinely thought we turned the corner and found a system that works well that blends our technical players and Warnes simple tactical play. I thought the lads strolled up, didn't take their chances and Cheltenham quite rightly had a bigger hunger due to them not wanting a horrible record in their history book. We completely underestimated the opposition and that's why we didn't win.

Warne has to back his team in post match interviews, you can't in this day and age be critical of your own players in public and expect any changes. Thought he came across very arrogant in the Radio Derby interview. Some of the questions were a little awkward but I don't appreciate the sarcasm when talking about putting Bradley on to win a goal from a set piece, over potentially putting Sibley on the pitch. No need for it, stupid remark. Gained nothing.

He seemed far too happy about a point gained and protecting the unbeaten run. You've got the biggest wage budget in this division, the best resources by far to get this club to the Championship. If you can't put in a half decent performance against a club who's top earner probably earns less than our lowest paid squad player, difficult questions are going to be asked by folks. As much as want us to go under the radar, we're a big favourite for promotion. There is nowhere to hide.

I keep hearing Warne going on about the league table, another naff result and we're stuck in mid table. The main positive however is we're unbeaten, that's what the manager is clinging on to. Without this, he would be getting more negative criticism from the supporters. We've got plenty of winnable games this month, we have to start pulling away from the rest of the pack and asking questions of our promotion rivals.

  2. Watching the whole documentary was quite informative and interesting when it was about the football rather than the Beckham branding, I didn't realise half of the issues he had at Real Madrid and LA Galaxy, particularly his issues with Capello binning him off at first news of his move to America, then trying to pusuade him to stay at Madrid once he realised Beckham was a grafter and never gave up on his teammates. He does seem a normal family guy who has marketed himself very well over the years. I can see why Ferguson binned him off at Man Utd though once the fame was getting out of control.

They tried to humanise Posh Spice, however the documentary confirmed what I think many people think of her. A spoilt brat who has milked every piece of her fame and she was the one who started the whole media circus in the first place. Look how they've twisted my words in this article.... oh you mean the article you wanted to print out and make money from. Definitely feels like having a good ol mate who's stuck with an awful partner and can't get out of their situation.

  3. Without getting political about it, and risking this thread being closed, there are so many questions I have about this whole project from the higher ups involved. I was listening to the Rest is Money with Robert Peston and Steph McGovern (fantastic podcast) and they spoke in clear detail about why HS2 is just ridiculously expensive vs what France did with their high speed rail.

Firstly, our culture of NIMBYs makes all our construction projects very complicated. We as a country cannot build anything without endless red tape and going through so many planning departments and lawyers but mainly the big barrier is people flat out refusing to allow anything to be built near their property. The French get around this by essentially paying people compensation for the inconvenience which in turn is far cheaper than trying to manoeuvre around the problem and cause more delay and creating a huge bill for little benefit. I'm not say let's go full China and demolish buildings to make way for rail, there needs to be a more open approach to developing our infrastructure from the public, otherwise we'll be going nowhere and not be able to develop anything in the future.

Secondly our contracting costs to public projects is a joke. They completely rinse the tax payer when it comes to building anything for public use, whether that's hospitals, rail or roads. Having seen what builders charge to fix a toilet block at Royal Derby then it's no wonder everything costs so much. They add at least for a few more digits to the invoice and yet we've been paying them the bill. Now it's becoming a point of this is becoming so expensive that we have to start scrapping these big projects and cherry pick what we can and can't build.

They should have started on building a new line from Manchester to Leeds, but of course we have to make sure London is involved because that is the centre of the universe....

  4. In a world where accountability is lacking greatly, a supporters board is a brilliant idea. A football club is not a typical business, it is a community. A community which gives great happiness to people in the local area and outside of our city. I am baffled why a certain group of supporters would be against this. The more variety of opinions the better.

After what has happened over the previous years to our club and what is currently happening now to other long established teams, the role of the supporter is more important now than it has ever been. Transparency is so precious and we should take advantage of this opportunity.

  5. Some big positives to come out of the three games.

A settled back four, conceded one goal in three games. Nyambe is Warne's best signing by a country mile. Man mountain at the back.

Much more control on the ball and retaining possession a lot better. Having Bird back is a massive plus and even though he wasn't fully fit, some great touches. Smith's goal took his performance up another level.

Both of our main strikers scoring goals.

    Another beer before bed 🍻

  6. I really appreciate how we tried to play the game yesterday. It was one of the best performances I've seen at home for awhile under this manager and we was unlucky with the draw. I get the feeling this is too little too late for many supporters.

The home form is rubbish and has been for most of this year. I did think yesterday Warne woke up to the realisation that we have to control matches better. And on the whole I thought we looked dominant. But this should have been our game plan from the first whistle in August. He has bought more experienced players in the summer who don't possess a great deal of pace and power. Why did he suddenly think in the summer that an older squad could play more counter attacking football. With the technical footballers at his disposal, a controlled possession based plan was more than likely the best outcome this season.

Early in the season, a 7 point gap to close already for the top 2, he's slowly running out of games in my view from an already frustrated fan vase. Each silly result chips away at his armour. If they carry on with a similar performance from yesterday and we have injured players returning, we're definitely a look in for the top 6. I just don't want Warne to give in so easily and revert back to his beloved wing back garbage system which has failed time and time again, otherwise we won't be going anywhere fast apart from plodding along in midtable.

  7. I don't like those tyre stealers at the best of times, they were robbed yesterday.

The offside which blatantly wasn't offside and then Curtis Jones got sent off for a accidental foul. Wasn't reckless, wasn't out of control. Slow mo replay making it worse than it is.

I hate VAR and I hate the incompetence of refereeing. If the Premier League officials are useless then there's no hope for us in League One.

  8. I'm usually Captain Grumpy however I thought we played much better today. Typical football isn't it, play horrendous and win, play really well and it's 0-0. Both full backs were superb today, blocked all their attacks. We just lacked some quality in the final third. The forward line let us down today.

I hope Warne sticks with this system though, it has potential when we have more players coming back from injury.

Personally I find it embarrassing for us  to carry that burden around and would be delighted to shed it. Don't really understand the sentiment of a " badge of honour."

I agree with @GboroRam and @Gee SCREAMER !! that it won't be beaten. I console myself with the fact it isn't a bad reflection on the club but a truly shocking manager. He blew it big time.

    Ah good ol Paul Jewel.

Not sure if he blew it bigger at our club or with those ladies in his bed.
