  1. "Apart from Declan Rice we've got no number 6's apart from Kalvin Phillips"

Are we ignoring Angel Gomes who was solid for Lille last season? Oh sorry, I forgot he doesn't pick players abroad unless it's a last resort. That is what it feels like with Tomori. Southgate's pal Dier doesn't get in the Spurs squad, Coady and Stones are injured. Oh no, I have to pick one of best Serie A centre backs, what do you mean they don't play Premier League football?

    It stinks.

I know, whatever were we thinking when we spent 1 million on a 29/30 year old Steve Howard.

It's a different era though. Look at most of the successful teams nowadays. They scout and buy younger players and turn a profit by selling them to keep afloat of FFP rules.

We need to go to that model and not spend big fees on prime aged footballers. Everyone thinks a million quid isn't a lot of money. For league one that's a big fee. Unless we fund the move from a Cashin sale then I'm completely against the idea. We've got to balance the books properly.

  3. Definitely has the feel of the League One Neil Warnock. Great when he's in a specific division however he has not proved so far he can keep a club in the Championship. Granted, Rotherham's budget made it difficult to compete but I don't think his brand of football helps either.

I have no issues playing counter attacking football, with the right personnel it looks great to watch. I think this season could be a very similar outlook to last season if we're not careful, relying on one man for all the magic. The majority of the managers in the last 10 years, baring Rowett, have played a very similar style of football which looks easy on the eye. Personally, it's been difficult to watch us play percentage football when it still doesn't suit most of the squad. Bringing in the two lads from Forest and Arsenal is a big boost. They've definitely got more energy to get around the pitch. I really rate Tyrese Fornah because he looks a much better box to box midfielder for this division than anyone else we have. At Reading I thought he looked decent. Smith is a tidy footballer but when you've made Hourihane the captain, a similar player, I can't see him linking as well. Hopefully Warne has this in his mind.

I'd give him the full season, regardless of my opinion on the way we play football. This league changes like the wind anyway. You can end up winning 4-5 matches from 6 and out of nowhere you're in the playoffs. Warne knows the score anyway, if he doesn't get us promoted he'll be out of the door. Unless we're really struggling in midtable after Christma, he won't be going anywhere. I'm sick of managers being sacked left, right and centre. Give him the season to prove himself.

  4. Gotta give Warne some credit today.

I know I'm not his biggest fan, I can't deny how good of an away performance that was. The kind of football I've been waiting from him for 12 months. Devastating on the counter attack and a goal from a corner. Conceded a couple but that doesn't matter. Committed the bodies forward perfectly and got our rewards. Excellent, excellent result. Needed to get rid of that top team away form voodoo quickly and against Peterborough, haven't won there in 13 years, makes it sweeter.

Waghorn on fire. Confidence to hit a weaker foot curling shot shows why he'll get 15 goals minimum. Brilliant player. The two young lads who came on have some quality and energy too. Can't wait to see them more. Smith needs to watch out for the Tyreece from Forest, he'll take his spot no problem.

Well done Warne and team. Great marker set.

  5. Exactly what we need in my view. Hourihane and Smith are not controlling the midfield defensively and having this lad come in is a great signing. Looks very athletic from what I've seen. Doesn't have to be the best technical footballer because we've got plenty of them in midfield. Something different the majority of supporters have been crying out for.

  6. I know most people don't think style of play matters. I think for clubs looking to loan their best talent, I believe it does. Long gone are the days of, he needs experience so let's loan him out. Bigger clubs want to know their player will be playing a similar style of football, integrateing them with the first team. Do we really think we'd have got Osula and Dobbin because we want to be hitting 25-30 crosses a game? No. Why is that any good for their development.

Also, Warne's honest policy of not promising players of starting matches is a massive hindrance for loans. Why would a club loan out a quality youngest when they may end up stuck on the bench (Springett) for the majority of the loan spell. They might as well keep them at their academy.

I don't think it's down to purely financial reasons. The front facing personnel need to take accountability too.

Manchester United have released a statement that Mason Greenwood will not play for them again.

Be interesting to see what club comes in for him.

Whilst he might not have been convicted, the evidence made public was damning enough to f his career up, any club that even opens talks with him will face a huge backlash.

He's going to have to try and revive his career abroad I think. No club with any class will touch him with a barge pole. One of the few times trial by social media actually worked positively. Calling people out of any status who carry out this disgusting behaviour.

At least he has his own family to think about now and try and give them a future.

  8. Can't link it for some reason, Celtics old superstar Jota who went to Saudi for £25 million wants out already after a month.

Obviously having no idea of the situation, this just seems very bizarre. If Glasgow seems a better place than Saudi Arabia then something isn't right...

  9. For some inexplicable reason after the match, I still came away feeling annoyed. I don't know why, I can't get my head around it. We won a home game though, box ticked.

Massive positive was Liam Thompson, I thought he was superb and exactly what we've missed in midfield, energy. Bird, Hourihane and Smith isn't going to work because they don't compliment each other's styles. Thompson is different. Aggressive with and without the ball, no fear. Difference maker, has to keep playing him because our midfield has no fight in a battle. Waggy getting another goal and a nice finish easy finish too. He's very comfortable at this level, he'll definitely get over 15 goals, what a good accident (massive piece of luck) that might turn out to be for Warne. He would have never bothered to look at him if it wasn't for Fozzy.

Negatives, we still looked pretty ropey on the ball and Fleetwood should have scored at least one goal. The keeper and the woodwork saved us big time. Fleetwood having so many clear cut chances scares me because I really don't think they played that well either. Why Warne switched to a back 5 near end to protect a one goal lead still baffles me a day later, this invited Fleetwood to create more chances rather than Derby being positive and getting the ball forward.

I'm a stubborn person, I don't rate Warne and his tripe "football" to be honest. I'm keeping the comfort and hope because he is a promotion specialist. Regardless of my opinion, I cannot deny his successes in the past. He can get it over the line. This is why at matches I'll cheer the team and back him to the moon if it gets us out of playing teams like Fleetwood again next season.
