Reading are always at it. Why aren't club owners going at them like they went at us?

I'm sure the bamford up in teeside will be looking for a few quid to balance the books, if they don't get to the promised land this season.

???, yep I suppose both sides accuse it of bias to the other ,personally I feel it’s a bit left wing biased at this point but I watch gb news and in my view it’s a bit right wing biased but I do get to hear the other side , just my view??‍♂️ .To be honest despite some constantly accusing me of incoherent rants or being furious the vast majority of this stuff doesn’t really touch the sides , I’m an old boy and kind of just get on and do my own thing , make a few Bob , walk my dogs , go footy ,play some golf and a few holidays but mostly have a laugh with mates most of the time , I’m not really ripe for being played though I’m sure we all do get a bit played from time to time until we take in enough stuff to form our own opinions, this is an internet forum , the only one I use and to top that it’s predominantly a football based one , why would anyone with an ounce of savvy get furious, it made me laugh but also question myself ,when was the last time I was furious about anything ? I honestly can’t remember ??‍♂️

    So you never get furious.

You weren't at the game today then?

No, it says "if he is given leave"... it will be subject to the  a condition, which may include reporting to an immigration officer . Someone turning up in a dinghy has never sought or obtained any leave whether limited or not.

Fully agree if someone turns up on our shore and never asks for asylum, they should be classified as entering the country illegally.

But if that person seeks out a policeman or any governmental official as soon as they can on arrival and asks for asylum, then they should be classified as an asylum seeker and be processed accordingly.

The new immigration bill presently going through Parliament wants to classify anyone that arrives here, that hasn't already applied for asylum seekers status before they travel to the UK, as an illegal immigrant. Regardless of wether or not they ask for asylum immediately on their arrival into the UK.

Also let it settle that we are an island in the middle of Europe with no countries surrounding us that have fleeing  refugees. Anyone that comes here must have come through numerous safe countries on the way.

I wouldn't say the UK is in the middle of Europe, more on the western edge.

So refugees can only arrive here by passing through a safe country. As you say we're an island, I can think of numerous countries you can arrive from without passing through any other country. Doing it in small inflatables may be a bit dodgy but big boats can easily sail right around the globe without stopping. And lets not mention the invention of the aeroplane.

  5. Presumably if the carpark is no longer needed it will eventually be demolished. We will then have to endure looking at a waste site for a few years. Until something else is built on the site, NCP will probably end up renting it, before turning it into a potholed strewn carpark, similar to the one they have over the road.

A lot of Socialist aims (pretty much all of them) are well intentioned. But it is the cost of them that is the main issue... a cost that would need to be borne by our children and grandchildren.   I do think a better health service will cost some money. And social housing. And better welfare benefits. And education. And pensions. And if you want more illegal immigrants, you have to pay for the lawyers and the Judges to asses their claims (or maybe just let them in anyway) ,  and the translators, and the hotels and the housing, the roads and the rail network (HS2 anyone?) and more health services and education costs . If you want us to go for net zero well fine replace your gas boiler , put in solar panels and  cavity wall insulation and double glazing. Buy an electric car which is more expensive and less efficient. Meanwhile we will destroy the environment anyway by building all those houses, roads and railways over natural habitats. If you want us to have equal pay for women well that seems fair but tough luck if you are a man you might  need to take a pay cut (which even Lineker had to do). Or not get the job you want at all because you are not diverse enough. And so on. It means more taxes (and other costs) out of people's incomes they can ill afford at the moment.

I think it's fine for Mr Lineker (if he wasn't funded by me)  to be saying what he thinks, but maybe people who have not been as lucky (or when he was a footballer quite gifted) might have different views and perhaps be a bit upset about being called racists for holding those views.

Is Lineker now calling the government and it's supporters racists as well as Nazis.

    When did he tweet those?

  7. 12 hours ago, PistoldPete said:

So the DG is lying about Lineker agreeing to abide by the guidelines? I shall wait to see what happens if he calls anyone a Nazi again.

Before he can can call anyone a Nazi again, wouldn't he need to have called someone a Nazi in the first place?

He may have likened the language being used by our government to that being used in 30's Germany. Where did he call anyone a Nazi?

I've always thought that Sheff Wednesday walked away from the Hillsborough enquiry remarkably unscathed when the biggest problem was the appalling design of their ground.

There had been problems at previous games and now 24 years after the disaster they still haven't sorted safe and proper access to the stand. It staggers me that thus has been allowed to continue.

As an aside I thought the concourses at Barnsley at Oxford were very cramped and you had to fight your way through the crowd to get to the seating access points.

What with people queuing for food and drink that stretches across the concourse and queues to get into the toilets. Along with those already gathered consuming their purchases or just talking, our own concourses aren't the easiest to move through at times. It might help if the club could organise the queues for refreshments to run down the length of the concourse, instead of letting them randomly form across it.

Its hard to know how to refer to anyone these days to be fair, know how upset you extreme left wingers become if the wrong pronoun is used...

Maybe you could follow the example of those on the right and just the term woke for everyone that differs from themselves now days?

Well I suppose it's easier for their small mindedness to remember just the one pronoun.

  10. Fozzy is my chose for player of the season. He's been outstanding, mostly playing in a position that's not his normal position, while leading a defence that contain a young Centreback and a variety fullbacks, none of whom have regularly played there. In recent weeks he's also had to take on the responsibility of captain.

Fozzy may not have that panache, star status that some want from a POTY. But without the solid performances he's put in this season. Instead of pushing for promotion we could easily be fighting to avoid relegation.

The BBC said last week that GL was stepping back from MoTD, Today the BBC said GL will be presenting MoTD. There are 2 different statements that's what the change is ?

The little escapade between the BBC and Lineker as done it's job of deflecting the focus away from the government's immigration policy. But if Lineker is off air much longer, the story of his "sacking" starts to become stale. People may actually start looking at Lineker's twitter and realise what he said had a lot of truth to it.

So the BBC reinstate him, thereby creating a new news story that as everyone speculating on what as been agreed between them. Which keeps the focus off this inhuman immigration bill for another week. By which time the government will be hoping people's interest will have moved on to an other issue.

    Yes, but

    Play-Off Finals

    27 – 29 May 2023

is all it gives atm. Wanted to know the other dates in case we booked a holiday that clashed.

Easy. Don't book a holiday till June.

  13. Great MOTD tonight, no commentary just crowd noise. Maybe we should also scrap the multi camera coverage and go with a single camera that tracks the flow of play. That will give us that actually being there match experience.  Why not go all in by sticking a microphone randomly somewhere in the ground so we can listen to someone moan about the ref or the failings of their star player not scoring an easy chance.

Pah, why would we want exprofessionals giving their opinions about a game of football. Especially when we all know more about the game than anyone who as played the game at a high level.

  14. Not a royalist or concerned with whatever squabbles they have between then selves. But anyone, be they royal or commoner, that loses their savings due to the incompetence, greed of those in charge of a bank. Have my sympathy and shouldn't be ridiculed for their lose.

You could get 80 billion people in Loch Ness?  No wonder that Monster has been able to take the piss all these years.

Of cause you can get 80 billion people into Loch Ness. But only if the top layer are utilised as bike racks.

Thanks to the Big Yin for the inspiration for this post.

And this is the same Gary Lineker who was shaggin another Woman when married with 2 Children, Where was his moral high ground then.

Was he trying to stand for Parliament by emulating numerous Tory ministers and the former Prime Minister Bo Bo the clown?

No...but... you are probably thinking of the vote by the EU parliament in 2018 to scrap it.

I think the bill stalled, and no date is set for implementation.

That said now we have "taken back control" we wouldn't want to be seen to align with those pesky Europeans would we?

We must keep changing the clocks twice a year. Its the British way!

Now we've taken back control. Why not go all in, what with the shortages of certain foods and the threat of being overrun by Jonny Foreigner coming across the channel in small boats. Lets revert back to  British Double Summer Time that was introduced during World War Two.
