I think Sibley is better at taking corners.
Conor needs to start working some magic.
He needs to do more work where it matters in the middle of the pitch. Stop drifting to the left touchline and getting in the way of our left back and wide midfielder.

So Southgate says he is pondering his future as England's manager.
If he goes, who replaces him?
If he remains as manager, what will he do?
Should he stick with the current group of players?
Immediately replace the older players that won't be about come the next tournament?

A penalty put over the bar puts us out of a World Cup again.

The last 3 years has seen a massive onslaught against peoples freedom to go about they’re lives , first under cover of covid and now climate crisis ( the so called conspiracy theorist s said clearly this would be the case ) , it shows no sign of letting up and as the article says and @carlsagan points out , the rhetoric is this is happening no matter what people think ( democracy? ) , look at the ulez , started with central london ,got away with it and now it’s out to the counties
the boiling frog analogy is very clear , there was a time when you could ignore the corrupt and incompetent politicians and just focus on taking care of your family, those days are gone , they are reaching so deeply into peoples ability to live , earn and go about they’re business with freedoms fought for by past generations it’s becoming impossible
The country did vote in a referendum to give up many freedoms, to give a regime carte blanche to further remove many of our human rights from us.
There is talk that this government want to escalate not resolve the present industrial disputes. In the hope it will demonize those striking and the general public will accept the passing of laws to make strikes illegal, thus further reducing all freedoms.

Wouldn’t Wales also go through if the US beat Iran? Or if Iran beat the US? With Wales then having a better H2H than England?
If Wales win and Iran and US draw, it would see England, Wales and Iran all on 4 points and US bottom on 3.
In that scenario I guess it would go down on GD which currently has England +4 and both Wales and Iran on -2. A Wales win and Iran draw sees Wales with a better GD.
So if all that is correct, then actually a Wales win guarantees them qualification. Bizarre.
The H2H only comes into play when the two teams have the same amount of points, the same GD and both teams have also scored and conceded the same number of goals.
So for Wales to qualify for the next round, they will need to beat England by four goals.

Today's results leave the every team with a change of going through to the round of 16. So the last game could well get a bit heated, with both sides allowing their emotions to get the better of them.
The Iranians and Yanks could easily see a few red cards.
As for the other game the Welsh will be well up for it. They still have a chance of qualifying, they'll want to put in a better performance than today's and their biggest incentive is that it's against England.
If England show the same lack of passion against the Welsh as they did tonight, then I can't see us getting away with another nil nil.
The only thing saving Southgate is our goal difference. So I wouldn't be surprised to see him go full negative mode with a back five and two sitting midfield players.

No one else wants to do my job.
Who wants to make love to Jennifer Lawrence whilst she feeds you Jaffa Cakes.
With a shift lasting for only five to ten minutes, wouldn't you still be able to get to the game? Or do you have to eat the entire packet of Jaffa Cakes before you can clock off?

Draw away from home against a top six team. I'll take that all day. Solid performance by the Rams.

For the older supporters amongst us. Met Ray Young, he was sat in my Mum and Dad's front room when he called at the house to discuss life insurance with me. It was a number of years after he had retired and was working for the Co-op insurance company. Memory may be playing tricks but I think Phil Waller was with him on one occasion.
Also once while carrying three pints of beer I nearly bumped into Paul Green as I turned away from the bar at the Ragley Boat Stop.
As for non-Derby players, stood behind Norman Whiteside while queuing to get on a plane back to Manchester.

Get this man a testimonial. Loyalty is a rare commodity in football thanks to the amount of money sloshing around. Fozzy has been with us through it all.
While a testimonial is warranted for such loyal service. It's an extended contract that the club should be putting in front of him and not waiting until his present deal runs out.

Couldn't get excited about the World Cup, more so since the announcement of the squad, that contains to many unfit or under performing players. Unless some of Southgate's underperforming favourites have a sudden improvement. England getting past the group stages will be an achievement.

Noticed there's no match day thread for MK Dons. Whats the protocol for who can start one?
@Bwash_Ram did the thread for the Liverpool game. Yes we lost on pens but we didn't actually lose the game in regular time. So should he carry on starting the next match day thread or should another member now do it?

Half a mark is a little high for some of this lot. Can we do a quarter of a mark?

Shocking performance, no commitment, no desire, in fact no anything. Play like that against Liverpool and we better hope they put out their U18 team, so the score doesn't finish with a cricket score.

At this time of year it as to be a good mulled wine and a mince pie.
For the rest of the year, a selection of cheese and a bottle of Auchentoshan malt whisky.
That's until the bottle is empty and the choice of whisky will alter. Working my through as many different single malts as I can
Well I needed to find a hobby when I retired.
