  1. I'm at the stage where I don't care who the first signing is. I just want to be informed on the morning of the first day of the transfer window, that we have signed a player. Quickly followed by the announcement of at the least 5 or 6 more signings.

I don't want to see weeks of speculation on who's coming or more worryingly going. I want us to have our squad sorted with the exceptions of a few loan players before they report for preseason training.

Matlock, Stoke and Chesterfield. Has the team bus rental got a mileage cap on it this year?

It’s all very Nigel Clough. Be running round Allestree Park first week of July.

While I always enjoy touring around Derbyshire. I wouldn't mind having one of Nigel's pre-seasons again. The away games against Yeovil, Torquay and Exeter, resulted in a pleasant week touring Devon.

  3.  If the same criteria is used this season, for how the sale of away tickets was prioritised last season. Is there any point in buying an away membership, if you weren't able to get to at least 5 games last season.

Had a go at creating three kits for the season. Added Cazoo as the sponsor just because we don't know who we'll have, and they do a lot of EFL sponsorship at the moment.

As much as I'd like us to have a yellow and blue second shirt. This one resembles a Leeds rugby league shirt. So anything connected to that city is a no from me.

As for the third shirt, Argentina, a cheating Maradona. That'll be another no.

I’ll wind my neck in when he makes the most of what is at his disposal 🤷🏼‍♂️

I don’t blame him for today but it’s ridiculous to suggest that we can’t criticise him after the run of form that saw us slide from 7 points within the play offs to falling out of them.

It isn’t entitled either to expect us to (with a squad that’s probably top 6 in terms of wage bill) to not go on such an awful run.

On that premise we just need to pay all our players 50 grand a week and we'll go unbeaten next season and have the league wrapped up by Christmas.

  6. If the country decided to abolish the monarchy as our head of state. What type of head of state would we want to replace it with?

Something similar to a USA Presidential system?

Or do we hold the popularity contest every 4 or 5 years, to vote for a none political figure?

To carry out the duties presently performed by Charlie. While living a life of luxury, staying in the country's biggest council house.

Maybe we should ask Paul Warne what he thinks. It would seem to me that there is very little difference in yesterday’s and last week’s penalties. Other than a different manager bemoaning officialdom. Funny old world is Football.

A big big difference between the two incidents. The Bristol R. player made the initial contract with White which caused White to fall over and thus make contact with the Bristol player. Bird moved between the ball and the Burton player without making any contact with him. The Burton player tried to get to the ball but made contact with Bird, causing Bird to fall.

Derby’s record against teams inside the bottom four is amazing.

    Derby 1-0 Cambridge

    Cambridge 0-2 Derby

    Derby 5-0 Morecambe

    Morecambe 1-1 Derby

    Derby 4-0 Accrington

    Accrington 0-3 Derby

    Derby 4-0 FGR

    FGR 0-2 Derby

    P8 W7 D1 L0 GF 22 GA 1 GD 21

Now onto out record against the rest of the division

    P35 W13 D11 L11 GF 43 GA 43 GD 0

    Not very good is it?

Not sure what your point is. The teams around us in the league probably have a similar record to us. If not and they have dropped more points than the two we dropped against the bottom four teams. Then surely it's the supporters of these teams that should be upset.

Our points total against the top six

    Plymouth:-0 from 6

    Ipswich:-0 from 6

    Sheff. W.:- 1 from 3

    Barnsley:-3 from 6

    Peterborough:-3 from 6

    Bolton:-4 from 6

Other than the top two, not an unreasonable return of points against teams vying for promotion

As I asked at the start, what point are you trying to make?

England won the World Cup with 22 players in 1966. Warne is unlikely to get a Knighthood.

I think you'll find England didn't use all the 22 players in the half dozen games they needed to win the world cup.

The teams they were competing against also only had 22 players available to them. Unlike the teams we are competing against this season.

  10. We can point at the ref if it makes people feel better but we were poor today, our shooting was appalling, crosses either hit the first man or sailed harmlessly over everyone's head and our passing at times was sloppy. For a portion of the game either side of half-time we were mundane, lacking in any buzz, happy to see the game pass by.

So who should we apportion the blame to for the dropping of  two points today? The players, the management, a bit of both?  while I like every other Derby fan wants to see us return to the Championship has quickly as possible. Do we need to be realistic and accept that while on paper we have a number of good players, we are what we are, an average league one team that has over achieved.

Hopefully the man that has been chosen to get us back up to the Championship and higher, is given the opportunity and time to build a team that can achieve this.

  11. Could our results have been any better or any worse under another manager, playing different formations and tactics than those we have played under Warne?

Unless someone possesses a reliable crystal ball, the answer to that question is pure conjecture.

Maybe the question we should be asking ourselves is the club in a better or worse position than we thought, hoped it would be when the team lined at the start of the season. The answer to that question is probably a better indication to how we believe Warne is performing as our manager.

I can't find it but at the beginning of the season, I'm sure there was a poll asking where we thought we would finish the season.

So comparing that poll to where we actually finish, may give a better indication to how well the manager has done. Than a poll taken when we are going through a poor run of games.

Wonder what the results of poll taken in mid January would have looked like?

So thankyou for the invite but I'll gracefully decine to participate in a meaningless poll.

  12. Yes Ipswich were dynamic in their approach to the game, they were physically stronger and quicker than us for much of the game.

The thing the wrist slashers and manager out sections amongst us, seem to be ignoring is the fact we had a perfectly good goal disallowed. How the game would have unfolded at 1-1, no one can say.

If we had finished with a one all result, against what some believe to be the best team in the division, how many unused sharp objects would still be safely packed away in the bathroom cabinet

Lets also remember this was against a team that was strengthened in the January transfer window, is on a good run of form and is being predicted by some pundits to be top of the division come the end of the season.

Will the aforementioned sections please sit back and take a moment to reflect on where we as a football club are right now. We could easily not have a club to moan about.

Yes I, like every Derby fan wants to see us play sparkling football, to return to the Championship and higher as quickly as possible. But we are where we are, having to cope with the severe transfer restrictions imposed on upon the club.

For a team that was cobbled together of nothing at the start of the season, has it over or under achieved?

I'm happy we are even in the mix for the chance of getting promotion. At the start of the season I just hoped we wouldn't be dragged into a relegation dog fight and been content for us to see the season out in mid-table mediocrity. Giving the club time to reorganize after a traumatic few years.

I’ve been tempted with a CQC inspector but you have to act professionally. Assistant refs should also have yellow/red card use.

What's an assistant ref going to do with a yellow/red card? Most of them won't indicate the direction of a throw in without confermation from the ref.
