In summary, it became a bit of a mess in the 2nd half, with the fans and seemingly the players unsure of where everyone was meant to be?

Bear in mind the EFL allow recently relegated clubs to spend 75% of revenue on wages whilst all others are limited to 60% in League 1. It's perhaps a bit hypocritcal of them to be against it at a different level of the pyramid.
There should be more control over what parachute payment can be spent on though - such as just the legacy contracts prior to relegation, which is what they were introduced for

We still had 23 shots across those 2 "poor" games as well. Another 15 against Charlton and 27(!!!) against Fleetwood.

Rosenior with McGoldrick on the pitch: 6 goals scored, 3 against (274 mins played)
Without: 3 goals scored, 6 goals against (536 mins played)
 
It also took 5 games under Warne for McGoldrick to be fit enough to last at least an hour - we picked up just 7 points from those games. It's no coinicidence our good run under Warne then started when McGoldrick was up to speed and I have no doubt it would have been the same under any manager.
