Mucker1884 got a reaction from MarsdenRam in Serial Whingers Notts Forest playtime, which we simply cannot accept.
I'd like to show how magnanimous I am, by offering my hearty congratulations to our neighbours for a second consecutive successful outcome in their bid to maintain top flight membership, and local superiority.
But unfortunately, I'm not renowned for being magnanimous, and I'm too old to change now, so feck 'em!

It is less appropriate. A team finishing 22nd out of 24 have had a poor season and shouldn’t really be given another chance at avoiding the drop. Whereas a team finishing 6th out of 24 in the league below has done pretty well (albeit, not as well as the team finishing 3rd).

This sums up my thoughts.
...Apart from the wandering, as I'm just sat at the kitchen table. 😉

I don't think any team finishing so low should be rewarded with an opportunity to win at Wembley, and a heck of a great day out for their fans.
Just seems highly inappropriate/undeserving, to me. 🤷♂️

Lol, no more inappropriate than a team finishing 6th, 15 points or so behind 3rd place!! play it at the city ground then!! It would keep things interesting because more teams would have something to play for! 12 teams fighting to either go up or stay up and a few more on the periphery worrying!

End of week 2 in Scotland. Highlight was a 6 day hike doing the Great Glen Way from Fort William to Inverness. Down in Aberdeen till tomorrow then off to Pitlochry for a few days. Sorry, only knee photo is full body shot with the missus.

It’s an interesting system. Possibly the only thing I don’t like about it is the number of clubs involved. Whilst it may be a tall order (but as we know, anything can happen in a one off game and a much lower placed team may just be going into the play offs with momentum), it looks to me as if potentially, the team finishing 3rd could lose out to the team finishing 5 places and, god knows how many points, below them. There are only 20 teams in the league so, the team in 8th (just above mid table) could still get promoted.

As mentioned in previous posts - Stuart Atwell against florest 2008!
... was a bit surreal for me as I was (literally) sat on a sandbag in Sangin getting abuse off two Royal Marines for the entire game.

Sounds similar to the National League playoffs… just without the guarantee.

The EFL being a bit economical with the truth here, 'almost six months' is actually 1 month to less than 3 months maximum for the first batch of games to the end of September. less than 2 months to a maximum of 5 months for the January batch and 2 months to a maximum of 4 months for the March batch.

Serie B promotion playoffs have some interesting emphasis on league position. It sounds complicated but it is not and at least the success during the season means something. Taken from wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serie_B:
The top two teams are automatically promoted and the third-place team is only automatically promoted if they are more than 14 points clear of the fourth-placed team. If the third-place team is not more than 14 points clear of the fourth-place team then the teams from third-place to eighth-place enter a play-off to decide the final promotion spot.
The preliminary round between fifth and eighth and between sixth and seventh is a single match on the ground of the best placed in the regular season. In the event of a tie at the end of normal time, extra time will be played. If the game is still tied at the end of extra time, the highest-ranked team goes through, without taking a penalty shootout.
The semi-finals are a two-legged competition with a first leg at home for the teams that played in the preliminary round and a second leg at home for the third and fourth-placed teams in the regular season. In the event of a tie in the aggregate result, the best-ranked team in the regular season progresses to the final, without extra time and penalties.
The final is played between the winners of the semi-finals over two legs, the latter at the home of the best-placed team in the league. In the event of a tie, the best-placed team in the regular season is promoted to Serie A, without the need for extra time or penalties. If the two finalists have finished the regular season on equal points, the second leg includes extra time and penalties if required.

Same. Ironic that either of those losing sides would almost certainly have performed better in the PL than the one that actually got there.
Baggies fans can moan as much as they like, but we beat them at home in the regular season, were robbed away, and finished 8 points above them. Plus, you know, we actually won. Not our fault they couldn't hit a cow's a**e with a banjo on the day.
I have mixed feelings on this one. When we finish 3rd, I think the playoffs are a sh** idea. When we finish 4th-6th then I think they're great... 😎

No matter how you slice it, losing Max is horrible. Watching the video actually makes me feel a bit sick. I've been in denial mode for a while now, made easier by the fact he was immediately loaned back. Easy to pretend he wasn't gone, but he is and it makes me very sad. I know we'd likely not have secured an auto-slot without the cash he brought in and maybe I'll be more grown up about it in time, but of all pain the fan base suffered in recent times, somehow this knife cuts the deepest. Childish as it is, I'm now sat here wandering whether he'd come back at the end of his current deal?
As it is, thanks for some wonderful memories, Max. Best of luck lad and don't be a stranger, eh! 😔

Here’s the thing. You shouldn’t get the squirts even if you drink excessively, thats the gluten.
Actually, if you’re drinking that amount what does taste have to do with it? Sounds like quantity and effect to me? I bet after 3 if someone put another lager in a Madri glass on a night out you’d never notice.
Then at the end of the night you have a cheeky take out that has wheat in it as you think “in for a pound” then you feel like s**** and ache like a bitch, get bloated and in foul mood for about 5 days. Then you rinse and repeat.
If you squirt after drinking non wheat lager then I think you’re full gluten intolerant to be honest.
Fair play to you, but I couldn’t live permanently feeling like I do after I have wheat just because a lager tastes a bit better.
I think that I can’t appreciate that Madri tastes better as I’ve never tried it because of what’s in it. So I guess I’ll only ever have a favourite non wheat lager.
Now go to bed and think about what I’ve said! I’m not angry….just disappointed.
