I remember my sixpence allowance for sweets changing to 2 1/2p.
My local shop had a hand-written list of old currency/ new currency comparisons.
Blackjacks and fruit salads a particular favourite plus those e-laden spongy banana things.
Can’t remember them making me ‘hyperactive’ like they seem to now and if I was, I’d have had a clout round the ear.
    Hasn’t done me any harm.

Yes our Third World train service is cancelled again. I have some sympathy for rail staff but I’m in the private sector and we didn’t get a pay rise at all this year. We took a bonus instead and understood the financial necessity.
I can’t believe we continue to pay extortionate prices to sit (or stand) on a hot, rickety train which is often late.
My season ticket at Derby largely relies upon the trains running.

So glad the old fellow survived the pandemic and the rising price of cider.
I always thought Waghorn was what Wayne was getting during the Vardy trial.

Or not, depending on which ITK you believe.
I prefer to call them ITD - in the dark, like the rest of us.
Waghorn was a great character to have around, but even a couple of years ago he was frustrating to watch.
    I can’t believe he’s got any better.
I would like to remember him for that last game and his obvious joy.
Kenaf Roofe would excite, even if we had to wait for him during his obligatory physio sessions.

If anyone uses Cross Country trains to get to Derby (apart from me?) there are none tomorrow.

Always utterly professional and industrious on the pitch and had lots of talent.  Very rarely gave the ball away and at his best a stunning crosser of the ball. Wish him well despite his disappointing views on TUPE (blame the agents and lawyers)

Thanks to all of you for your ratings.
    Summary
Statistically, Sibley was MOTM V Mansfield with an average rating of 7.33. He really is now difficult to leave out of the starting line-up and I sense a big goal coming for Sibley. Will it be Saturday? He really has got the bit between his teeth right now.
He pipped Rooney who scored a very respectable 7.22. What a great debut. Wildsmith has been attracting very good ratings in all matches so no surprise to see him up there.
Average rating for the team was 6.47, higher than for Charlton (6.34) but lower than for Oxford United (6.75). This is shown by the red dotted line on the chart, so players above the line are the "form" players at the moment.
Despite only a few minutes on the pitch NML also attracted the highest rating (8) and also a high above-average rating of 7.0.
After this weekend's game, I will publish year-to-date ratings for all players as well as the summary match ratings.
It will be interesting to see if the ratings go up as the Team fitness builds and we start to see a settled side evolve. I don't think the Team is far off, midfield still needs more energy and physicality; I sense that if we get a full-back, shift Knight to midfield, and get McGoldrick alongside Collins, we will start to see some paint peeled off the walls with blistering football. Tantalizing. ?

It annoys me that the first casualty of a dry summer is the gardener. Ooh, look at him watering his plants.
Meanwhile, paddling pools and hot tubs are full to the brim.
Not watering gardens has a massive impact on the creatures that inhabit them.

I just think we have Collins, McGoldrick, Barkhuisen and NML, none of whom are particularly young or pacy. Why would we want to add another old striker?
I’d rather we were after a strong tackling midfielder and a goal scoring midfielder.
We haven’t given Collins and Dobbin a fair go yet.

I hate fake grass. It's poor for the environment and contains toxic chemicals not to mention the impact it has on our ever dwindling numbers of insects and birds. When it wears out which at some point it will it can't be recycled and will just add to the landfill. My heart sinks every time I see somebody ripping out nature and replacing it with fake. I hate it!

After a two year absence, I’ve consulted the oracle who is ‘Old Trample’ on this. I had to to buy him 4 cans of K cider and a Babycham but…. he’s adamant it’s Waghorn. Rosenior reckons he’ll bag 15-20 goals in League 1 and is confident Hourihane can create the 30-40 one on ones he’ll need to achieve it.
Trampie also reckons Rosey also asked about Paterson. But that was only for schitz n giggles because Leroy’s on this forum and wanted to wind @bimmermanup ?

No idea how we played, not overly concerned really, as at this stage of the season winning is great, but getting competitive minutes under the belt is just as important. Never easy games are League Cup games against a lower league outfit, especially one managed by a wily competitor. To progress is good, and nice to see we did it with a lot of youth - Odurah, Rooney, Thompson, Cashin, Dobbin and Sibley.  Up the Rams.

So, in summary, 3 games in.
    Won 1 - just - hard fought.
Lost 1 - one of those games where we mostly panned them then got sucker-punched.
Won another, cup game. Another hard fought, but class prevailed.
For saying we barely had a club, let alone a team a month ago, I'll take that thank you very much.
Loving football for football's sake, not money's sake.
I'm loving our club's big reset. It's a bit Roy of the Rovers stuff. Jumpers for goalposts anyone? ?
