why should he? he has put the club at risk of going into liquidation, he should never be welcome back at the club.

RAM1966 reacted to IslandExile in Need an owner and quick, a total reset and build for League One
I'm sure the wrist slashes are out in force tonight but it's been obvious for a while now.... We need a total reset.
First and foremost - let's stay in business. Number one priority - get a new owner and as soon as possible.
Points deductions.... The squad is so poor, we'd struggle to avoid relegation even without a points deduction. That could be offset slightly by Bielik's return and acquisitions of forwards in January but, by then, it may be too late anyway.
So let's accept whatever points deductions the EFL want to throw at us, on condition that they're imposed this season. Then it's over and done with.
Assuming then that we're going down, let's start building for next season in League One.
That means blooding the youngsters that will still be with the club. Not playing each one in every game, not leaving out all the old pros. But giving each young'un experience alongside a mentor. For example Cashin playing with either Davies or Jagielka.
Assuming Bird, Knight and Bielik will go, playing Watson alongside Shinnie and Morrison. That kind of thing.
Rooney has been really dignified throughout these nightmare months but the jury is still out for him tactics wise. After the last couple of games, there are question marks against his motivational ability too. I wonder what Curtis was referring to regards the training sessions.
But anyhow, Rooney is the magnet for investors and deserves "a go" with a clean slate.
So let's put the bad stuff behind us, and start building this club up again. Even if it means losing the current crop of good young players and starting in League One.
One thing for sure, the support is fantastic. The fans deserve a club going forward, not sinking further into the mire. Let's get the crap out of the way. Move on up. COYR ?

You prove my point nicely, I wonder how many who've criticised my concerns would be so nonchalant about it if it was there NI contributions that had not been paid!

How many will even realise?  By the time these people even realise the short fall it could be many years later.....  Will they still have these wage slips decades on when they retire to prove they paid thuer Tax & NI  contributions?
My wife only realised when we came back to the UK as they said she was not entitled to job seekers allowance.  Luckily she had proof of her contributions, will someone in there 30s today have proof when they reach retirement age?
However you dress it up, its a disgrace....

I have a totally different experience.

As a manager in the financial services industry and a school governor, I have chaired both disciplinary hearings and appeals. In both environments it would be unthinkable and outrageous for the person appealing to know that a failed appeal could result in an increased punishment.

should have extra penalties in future if people try to take a chance by getting it reduced ... that is IN FUTURE and not the Derby case.
I wouldn’t describe it as taking a chance. Each potential appeal will be looked at by the respective clubs legal advisors before deciding on the potential success of taking it to an independent panel ? If the EFL are once again changing the rules then I would suspect Derby have a more than 50% chance of overturning the 12 point penalty.

Derby - Hey, here's our accounts. By the way, we used an alternate method involving amortisation.
EFL - Hmmmmmm. It's unusual, but fine, we'll sign off on them.
    *Years Later*
EFL - Lol, changed our mind, now they aren't ok.

Derby - We've sold our stadium and will add the profit to our accounts.
EFL - We don't like that, but it's not against the rules. We disagree with the valuation of the stadium however.
Derby - OK. Here's a valuation from an independent company who provide a similar figure.
EFL - Nope, we don't agree with the professionals, we'll begin disciplinary action.

Independent panel - Derby didn't do anything wrong.
EFL - Meh, what do you guys know. We will appeal with a new independent panel.
New independent panel - We believe a 100k fine is appropriate for Derby's wrongdoing.
EFL - Nah, we don't like that, let's appeal. Oh and let's also try and relegate them after the season is finished.

Derby - Hey, we've renewed Jack Marriott's contract.
    EFL - OK.
    *6 months later*
EFL - Changed our mind. Marriott is free to leave. And no, you can't sign anyone to replace him, Waghorn, or any of the other players who left.
    *Months later*
Derby - Please, we don't have enough senior players to even field a team, just let us sign some.
EFL - *Sigh* Fine, but only 4 or 5. And no more than 4.5k a week! And if you re-sign players like Davies or Wisdom they will take up 1 of those spots.

Derby - Hey we're having some injury problems and would like to use a couple of young lads, but they'll then count as senior players. Can you be a little lenient with this?
    EFL - Lol no.

I'm really relieved the EFL are trying to help us and make us work. It's really nice to know they have our back.

It’s very simple … if you need to have the parachute system then FFP / P and S has no meaning or logic. The two just don’t run in sync
Either Parachute and free for all ….. or  no parachute and FFP / P and S across the board.

It really doesn’t matter which .. it just has to be straight and open

    @RamsfanJim
First bit: This is conditional upon the second bit as it can only representative of the wider fan base if you have enough members. The Rams Trust has always been a very small selection of the fan base, so that needs to be addressed to be truly representative.
Second bit: I feel the lack of engagement with the fans has been a massive reason why membership numbers have been so low. This forum is by far the biggest group of Derby fans (overlapping with other groups of course) so it's been narrow minded of the Trust to only now come on to the forum to discuss things - even if an arm had to be twisted to get a RT representative on here. From being a member on here, you'd get a much better understanding of the differing views. Just from signing up and talking to fellow fans on this forum the Trust will have increased its membership, myself being one of them.
Jim, from reading your posts, you're a very busy man... especially with current events. I suggest the Trust have a designated representative on this board who has a bit more spare time. Someone who is happy informing the wider fan base of recent developments and someone who enjoys debating ideas with others. It helps non-members to understand what's going on, they get to know the Trust on a more personal basis, and then are more likely to become members.
Thanks for finding a bit of time to join the forum and interacting with us. I hope you decide to stay on here long-term and have the odd chat.

If the sole aim of RT is to get a place on the board to represent the fans then that could be why so many backs are getting up, if you will.
As we have seen recently with the ‘nda’ meeting. Knowing everything and not being able to say virtually anything  defeats the object of having a fan rep at board level.
In my opinion, it’s exactly like the charter meetings that I have attended.    They tell you information then say “this can’t get out” but mostly was probably a test to see if it got out.
Coupled with minutes not being produced and us not being able to comment at all made it all a waste of our time and effort.
It’s all good in principle, but I’m assuming all that may happen is there will be two board room meetings. One where the RT are invited and a few apologies .  Then the official one.
    That’s my opinion.

    Hi Jim,
I do think it's best you listen to all supporters as the handling with Mel Morris was poor. I'm sorry if that offends but I didn't agree with RAMS trust being the only opinion or supporters view which mattered. Derby is all of our football club not just RAMS trust and I believe you guys should of been on here before representing us.
With that in the past and things moving forward, Maybe a MOD from here could be on the Rams Trust or we could have a section for questions which we feel needs to be relayed/ Answered. As the RAMS trust is the voice of the Fans. Should RAMS trust be the only recognised supporters trust as you have not been very active in the fan groups before the dreaded Silence of the Rams? Surely a representative from here, the West Stand, East Stand, North and South stands so there is a voice from a range of angles?

    Kind regards
