Genuine question about Warne ball. If the players downed tools and stopped playing for him, how would we tell?

Oh for sure. Derby then and Derby now are playing two contrasting styles of football. Both frustrating but under Rosenior I could appreciate the technical superiority we showed and felt the goals and wins would come in due course. It feels now as though we're trying to be better at being a league one type of team than the other sides in this division which neither suits our strengths or is good to watch.

I think some of the celebration since Tuesday night isn’t so much that we pue the mighty Exeter to the sword, byt kore that after over a year of almost incessant anti-football we managed to pit out an attacking team and actually played football.
Secondly, is the “Warne out” rhetoric less about hating the man and more a desire to see the club playing to its strengths instead of doing its best  not too?
We have the players to produce good football, so maybe Tuesday was a glimmer of hope that we are going to be a front-doit, entertaining side. Today will tell us if Tuesday’s hope will continue, or wether we will return to type and make Stevenage look like world beaters.
Come On You Rams and do the business today!

Unfortunately we have a League 1 manager, even if he's gained promotion from it - relegation followed immediately.
There are plenty of managers in the leagues above and in other countries leagues who have never succeeded at League 1 level, but I'll settle for someone who has better ideas and is more able to realise ambitions! #COYR

My son and I travel home and away at great expense to support this team. I am not and never will be 'outside noise ' . You should be grateful we care enough to have an opinion of your hopeless coaching ability, trying to play a style that was fit for the 80s.  Never take this club nor the supporters for granted whilst you leach off our backs getting very well paid for a substandard job

Entitlement ?  I think you mean expectation
Off the scale ? In the lower leagues the club’s gate defines its spending power. Our gate dwarfs most in this league - as does the value of our squad -  and we are showing little sign of challenging for promotion.

and yet you think fans should be content ?

Even Warne accepts that fans have a right to voice their displeasure at the performances. Everyone wants to see us win. The holier than thou attitude is far more annoying than the booing.

Now you have me wondering if:
    a) Your family are tiny in stature?
    b) There’ll only be 2 of you in attendance?
    c) Youll be eating very small portions?
and I’m more bothered by this than tonight’s result!

I've just read your summary thanks CR. My blood pressure won't allow me to listen to the waffle that comes out of Warnes mouth I'm afraid. I'm okay reading the stuff, but he seriously winds me up with his continual passive-aggressive answers.

The first half particularly was dreadful on Saturday. Wasnt so much hoof ball from Derby as such but just head tennis and an inability to get hold of the ball and pass and move. No effort to get on the ball and play. The second half was only a bit better because we put them under a bit of pressure.
The above simply cant be a lack of ability as we have decent technical players for this level so its got to be the team struggling with what is asked of them. Sorry but its difficult to watch in my opinion and Im usually positive by nature.

Yeah, great way showing you respect their opinion right there, and you're definitely not mocking anyone by making out that their views are what you expect a 'younger fan' to hold. 🙄🤣
I'll assume this was unintentional and not really how you meant the post to come across. Benefit of the doubt and all that.

It's an odd situation really. Most of the people who are Warne out are that way precisely because they are concerned about the bigger picture, not because of a few bad results but because of everything they see about the way the team is being managed. It's the direct opposite of the short-terminism they're accused of.
The strongest advocates for him going are those looking at the long term prospects of the club (well beyond the next 2-3 years) and considering what the impact of continuing to employ a manager with such limitations in both his his current abilities and his interest in giving young players a proper chance, coupled with a lack of any sign he's going to develop tactically beyond what he currently is showing.
They're typically posters who can write at length (yes sometimes it's boring and repetitive!) about their concerns and back up their view with things that have actually happened while he's been in charge of Derby, whereas many (certainly not all, maybe most) of those who won't consider the idea he should leave seem to deal in of ifs, buts, maybes, diversionary tactics,  and a fair ol' bit of mud-slinging. (Yes both 'sides' can do that - and no doubt someone will (incorrectly) try to claim that's what I'm doing here - but it definitely comes from one direction more than the other)
I suppose you could accuse them of that they're looking too far in front and not realising that first and foremost we need to get out of this league, but that's not exactly looking promising right now, and even if we do make it, the long term concerns won't just go away.

About a year ago I arranged a meeting with a customer in a hotel bar close to where Derby were playing that evening. It was a large, open plan area with just the three of us sat around a table with laptops open. A few minutes later Derby County arrived which made things interesting. For a couple of hours it was just us and them to the extent that Richie Barker was holding quite long one to one meetings with players a couple of tables down from us (couldn't really hear what he was saying and have our meeting unfortunately). The thing that concerned me was how flat it felt, the players hardly spoke to each other. I'm not advocating for clowning around whilst representing the club but this felt too far the other direction and strange.
This is only my interpretation, but two hours is a long time to watch a group of people for and it's really nagged at me ever since.

We'll play like absolute turd, win 1-0 and Warne will claim "see? Now we win and everything is fine again, that's how fickle football fans are".
We could play like prime Barcelona and win 48-0. I'd still want him gone.

If our budget for next season was £2mil, hypothetically, then I’d rather spend £1.5m of that getting rid of Warne & have a new bloke with 500k, rather than Warne with £2mil.
The season isn’t a write off, we can still easily make the top 6. I think that only happens if he goes.

There’s been plenty of polls and a few ‘Warne Out’ comments, but thought I’d start the definitive ‘Warne Out Out’ post, which as fans of a particular Sarf London comedian means ‘properly out!’
No messing, I was on his side at first, but am tired of the utter banality of our football; mid table mediocrity and I don’t care what he did at Rotherham.
Please can we bring back some McLaren-esque footy, something to actually ‘entertain’ the fans? I’m sure I read somewhere that football should be entertaining 🤷‍♂️

I imagine he’s started calculating how much it cost to get in a promotion expert who failed, and is also likely to be draining the squad of our young talent.

How many people are saying "we're a shoe in for promotion"? Very few.
There are two main streams of displeasure.
    1. Style of play often resulting in an inability to pass the ball to a team mate
    2. League position being some way off challenging for automatic promotion. We're only 11 games in, but already 9 points off 2nd spot. Many would argue this isn't challenging for automatics.
One man is ultimately responsible for the first topic. He's the one who coaches the team and instructs them how to play on matchday. That criticism is therefore perfectly valid if those supporters do not enjoy the football on display.
When comparing a side to determine if they're overperforming or underperforming, budget vs league position is one of the main metrics. When looking at historic wage expenditure of clubs in this division, rumoured fees paid for players in the summer, etc.. it's very obvious that we have a 'top 3' budget. Since we're currently 9th in the table (7th on ppg), we're underperforming. People may disagree over the reason, but it still ultimately falls back on Warne.
    - Some say Warne isn't getting the most out of this squad due to tactics, player selection, etc... = Warne at fault
    - You say the players aren't good enough. Therefore, either of the following are the reason:
          - The recruitment team, which Warne helped to assemble, isn't identifying good enough players
          - Warne didn't choose the right players in the summer window
          - Warne couldn't convince the right players to join

I liked the breathtaking young Rooney with his world-leading brilliance and love for the game. It didn't last long. For a decade he became an impediment to the England team. His arrival at Derby completely undermined Cocu, who had the potential to do something special at our club, if Mel hadn't insisted on this absurd bit of tinkering. Yet in the administration season, with the club leaderless, Rooney stepped up and held everything together which was an immense task - over those months, despite being a poor football manager, he was a magnificent leader of men, and I'll remember him fondly for that. But after he buggered off my attitude to him is now much more "meh". I don't especially associate him with us mentally, and I don't care about him or Birmingham. I do care that Paul Warne isn't making nearly enough of some talented players at his disposal (including but not limited to Cash) which means those players will almost certainly leave. In which case I don't care where they go, as long as we get the most money for them. But it will be heartbreaking as they should be at the club leading us to promotion.

For sure, Morris had a lot to answer for. But he gave Rooney everything he asked for (including Cocu’s head) and Rooney stabbed him in the back when he saw which way the wind was blowing.
