  1. We were promoted the first two seasons I had a season ticket, all seemed very easy. I even remember going to Villa Park where if we'd won we'd have gone top of the league. It's not quite been all downhil since then but I've definitely learnt to enjoy the good bits because there can be a lot of average inbetween. I think the last time I was on the pitch was after the Southampton game (thanks Iñigo). Had been working in Swansea until mid afternoon, three trains and a taxi from the station got into PPS 10 minutes into the game - had to walk home in a suit that was totally drenched but it didn't matter by then.
  2. I think it's unlikely that John Bloor would amass several hundred million and then at the age of 80 start chucking it at a football club but you never know. One of the next generation of Kirklands might want on to the board.
  3. Clowes developments have just teamed up with Wavensmere Homes to develop Friar Gate Goods Yard (£75 million) and Wavensmere are developing the old DRI site (£175 million) so they are heavily invested in Derby. Could be putting two and two together to get five but I'd guess it's more likely than Gadsby.
  4. Glad to hear the Rifleman's is open again. Used to go in there several times a week when I worked at t'Mill - they had a very good pint of Pedigree but that was almost twenty years ago.
  5. Careful now, too many comments like that and @Eddie will be setting his trappist monks on you.
  6. It's a while since I've been to Mount Everest but I've always had a good meal there. The Nepalese dishes are very good though you can get a Madras or Korma etc. if you want.
  7. I went to Anoki last weekend and they're really pushing a limited menu for March which I didn't think was good value. I think the Viceroy is on a par with Anoki but I'd also mention Mount Everest on London Road for a good Nepalese and Gurkha beer. The Pepperpot restaurant has just opened on London Road https://www.pepperpotderby.co.uk/
  8. I really enjoyed The Dropout, saw it on Disney a few months back. I also enjoyed WeCrashed on Apple and Dopesick on Disney. Both are similar stories of delusional/dangerous company leaders. You can get 3 months of Apple TV+ by signing up to Currys Perks email and you can get 3 months of Disney with Tesco clubcard points.
  9. If you're staying near to the ground and want somewhere close to eat I'd recommend Niccos if you like curry www.niccorestaurant.com/ or Seven www.sevenrestaurant.co.uk/ otherwise. These might be worth a visit: Museum of Making - https://derbymuseums.org/museum-of-making/visit/ Great Northern Classics - www.greatnorthernclassics.co.uk/
  10. Very difficult. I fear that the commissioners sent into N********m City Council have a thankless task.
  11. I've never subscribed to The Athletic but they do send me emails. This link allowed me to see the full article: The $25m fraudster who came so close to buying an English football club
  12. I was at Colwyn Bay for Donald's 234. If he can bat like that this season I'll be very happy. Of course Whiteley is available for Red Ball cricket, not sure if he's played any recently but it would be nice if he could hit the runs that get us promoted again.
  13. I remember seeing Laura Trott as she was at Derby Velodrome in 2015 in a pre-Rio Olympics event. I wasn't that familiar with the different races then but she really did stand out and that's at an event with Wiggins, Cavendish, Clancy et al. That event sold out the Velodrome for all three days - it's a shame they haven't had anything like it since. Of course Jason Kenny will be at Pride Park on Sunday as he's running the Derby 10k for charity.
  14. I do have a bit of sympathy as you're never going to test enough to cover all browsers, versions and ad ons etc. I've just done a bit more testing and my Firefox beta version (123) doesn't work but version 115 tried from our server in Dublin works fine.
  15. I get that on Firefox but not Chrome. It's been like that since they changed the design a week or two back.
  16. Saw this at the Odeon on Monday evening, very good and far more entertaining than whatever it was I did last night.
  17. I put £4 on Charlton to win just after we scored. Cashed out with a £70 profit. I'm not happy about the result but at least I've got an extra £70.
  18. I vaugely enjoyed Barnsley at home but apart from that it's mostly dreck. You'd have to be in Cowes Cuckoo Land to think that people will pay an extra £60 to watch the same Warneball excrement next year.
  19. The Radio Derby Rams Archive still exists https://www.bbc.co.uk/derby/rams/derby_county_audio.shtml Unfortunately since the last time I tried it the audio files seem to have been removed. Be nice if Radio Derby could update this but I doubt that would be a priority for them.
  20. There were times at the Baseball Ground when Keith Loring would decide what the attendance was. I think for the Crystal Palace promotion game the reported attendance was several hundred less than the numbers through the turnstiles as the actual number was more than the official capacity.
  21. Thinking about our block in the West lower which is all season tickets and mostly people that have been going for 10+ years I'd say that for a game against mid to lower end of the table opposition on a cold Tuesday night somewhere between 20% and 30% wouldn't bother.
  22. Details of the detour here https://derbycyclinggroup.org.uk/site/2024/02/riverside-path-diversion/ You can detour round the top of the City Point estate following the route left for the canal should it ever reopen.
