That’s absolutely pathetic. Knocked out of two cups to lower league opposition. Once is a mistake, twice is unacceptable.
No effort or heart on display at all. We’d better win promotion now. 

Keep it. Yes it's a bit twee but not nearly as bad as some other club songs (Everton take a bow). It's the only thing that gets the whole ground clapping and engaged before kick off. Get the timing right (and don't ambush us with a third verse) and it creates a huge "Derby" right around the ground. 
@CongletonRam wumming that Bloomer is "some dead footballer who no one really knows" shows two things: his/her idiocy and the importance of keeping the song, something that celebrates not only our leading goalscorer of all time, but one of the greatest footballers of his generation. He remains the most successful Derby County player ever.
No-one wants to live in the past, but we should always treasure our heritage, especially a player like him. 

I must admit, I never met the guy, never saw him play, and have never knowingly met any of his descendants.  We do however share the same birthday... which is nice!
Anyway, the following comments relate to the aforementioned... and titular... Mr Steve Bloomer...
 
He played 525 times for Derby...  And scored a clear record 332 goals for The Rams.
After Jimmy Greaves, he is the second-highest all-time goalscorer in the top-flight of English football. 
While at Derby he was top scorer in the First Division on five occasions in 1896, 1897, 1899, 1901 and 1904. In 1896, together with John Campbell of Aston Villa. He was also the leading "Rams" scorer for 14 consecutive seasons and scored 17 hat-tricks in the league. One of his best seasons came in 1896–97 when he scored 31 goals, including five hat-tricks, in 33 League and FA Cup games. Between 14 November 1896 and 5 April 1897 he scored 21 goals in 20 games. He also scored six goals for the club in a game against Sheffield Wednesday in January 1899.
He helped Derby to win the Second Division title in 1911–12, and to finish second in the First Division in 1895–96; he also played on the losing side in four FA Cup semi-finals and three FA Cup finals (1898, 1899 and 1903).
After four years at Middlesbrough he returned to the Rams in 1910 and helped them win the Second Division title in 1912. 
He missed seven games of the 1893–94 season after Leicester Fosse half-back Peggy Lord broke his collarbone on 10 February. Bloomer recovered and claimed 19 goals from 27 appearances during the campaign.
Bloomer's goals helped Derby finish runners-up in the First Division in 1896 and helped them reach three FA Cup finals in 1898, 1899 and 1903. He scored in the 1898 final, a 3–1 defeat to Nottingham Forest. On 3 September 1900 Bloomer scored the first-ever goal at The Hawthorns, the 1–1 draw against West Bromwich Albion being the first match played at the ground.
He also had two spells as Rams Manager.
He also scored 28 goals in 23 appearances for England...
Bloomer made his England debut on 9 March 1895, scoring twice in a 9–0 win against Ireland, which helped England win the British Home Championship.
He scored in all of his first 10 international appearances, which remains a record for number of consecutive scoring appearances. He netted 19 times during these games, including 5 goals against Wales on 16 March 1896, winning three British Home Championships.
He became England's all-time top goalscorer on 2 April 1898, when he surpassed Tinsley Lindley's total of 14 with two goals against Scotland. On 18 March 1901, he scored four goals against Wales, becoming the first player to score two hat-tricks for England and also the first to score four goals for England twice, as England once again won the British Home Championship.
At the end of 1901, his goal tally stood at 25 in just 14 games.
He captained England once; against Scotland on 3 May 1902.
He finished his international career in 1907 as England's longest serving player and England's all-time top goalscorer with 28 goals. He held the record until his tally was overhauled by Vivian Woodward in 1911.
A plaque commemorating Bloomer's by-then demolished birthplace in Bridge Street, Cradley, was unveiled in 2000 by former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Derby player Jimmy Dunn and Bloomer's grandson Steve Richards.[53]
On 17 January 2009, after a long and sustained period of campaigning, a bust of Bloomer was finally unveiled inside Pride Park, Derby. Bloomer's two grandsons, Steve Richards and Alan Quantrill, unveiled the bust in the presence of Bloomer's family and relations, the sculptor Andy Edwards and thousands of Derby County fans. On 17 January 2009, a bust of Bloomer was unveiled next to the home dugout at Pride Park Stadium.
He remains a legend at Derby County
He also had to put up with quite a bit of s*** in Germany, during The Great War... including being interned at Ruhleben, a civilian detention camp in the Spandau district of Berlin, in 1914.
 
In January 2024, he was described by someone on the internet, claiming to be a Derby County fan, as "some dead footballer who no one really knows".
Allow me to repeat that, to avoid any doubt... "some dead footballer who no one really knows".
The above comment was further accompanied with "who the hell is Steve Bloomer....and I really don't care if he is watching or not."
 
This is the one time I am genuinely embarrassed to be in the presence of a fellow Derby County fan.

Steve Bloomers watching would be fine, if the drum beat matched the tempo of the song. You end up with the cloud clapping to a different beat the the drums in song. Remix it with a different drum beat perhaps?

Indeed.  By people who think they are better fans for not being critical of the manager or who seem to take personal offence over said criticism.  Strange behaviour for adults either way.

I'm not going to be convinced by Warne's management style, ever. Yesterday highlighted lots of his 'teams' deficiencies. For me nothing has really changed about 'them' (Warne and co.) since last season and it's not going to - he is what he is. Others will accept promotion as a positive and be 'pro-Warne'. We should have done better last season - Warne agrees! - we are not looking any more consistent or at times convincing than we did last season. Who you say is responsible for that is a personal choice, but for me we have a good budget, a better squad (last season particularly, except no RB - why not Warne?) and a good Club 'structure', what is wrong? Manager.
 
Oh and the point I was making, was not what I think but what other fans think - there were fans in the East stand according to Jake Barker, being anti-Warne and weren't willing to wait for a 'bad run' of a few games to do that.

For about 60 minutes on Thursday I could feel myself sitting arms folded, cross-legged and I suspect with a face like I was sucking a lemon! When I met my pal on the concourse after we just shrugged at each other. I feel like I’m living off scraps of what this team is capable of - the 3 nice little triangles on the left edge of Lincoln’s box in the first half, seeing Wilson do his stuff. I didn’t even jump out of my seat when he scored the second though. Yes we’re winning and that’s what will get us promoted, but Christ it’s a hard watch a lot of the time!

So laid up at home after motorbike accident.  Binge watching a number of shows
slow horses; love it follows a group of sub level failures from MI5 as they stupidly run into danger caused by enemies and friends.  Well written with a good pace to 
for all mankind;  follows  future of space travel if the Russians had got to the moon first.  Bit slow early doors but gathers pace with some likable characters.  
silo; slow to start but gets better and second series on the way.  Rebecca Ferguson stars.  People stuck in a silo where they are told the outside world means certain death
foundation; deathly slow with occasional bursts of speed.  Has a dune element to it but far too pompous and dragged out.  Worth a watch but only with access to strong meds
monarch; never a Godzilla film style fan so watch under sufferance.  Story line has a few hooks which will make me come back I think
reacher #2; liked 1 and this is more of the same involves investigation team operating just inside law mostly against organized crime.  Easy watch

What more do you want the club to do?
The checks are part of parcel of the terms of the safety certificate. Without those you don’t have safe standing, which supporters have been campaigning for for 10+ years. 

Soon there will be some form of congestion charge. It doesn't matter how much money they make because it's clearly not being spent wisely. How much did the footbridge and a52 widening cost? Still probably paying for this. 

Not forgetting the state of the art white elephant that is the Waste Treatment Plant in Sinfin where the Council/s have to pay £93m to a firm 🙄

I hear he also didn't know what to spend his £2m compo on either.

Awful end to an awful game. Awful football put in place by an awful manager. That said, was never a pen, but did we really do enough to deserve to win that game? Never really tested to keeper. If by some miracle we do end up getting promoted, we will probably come straight back down. Results have been good, but the football is uninspiring to say the least. Still don’t think Warne is the right bloke, It’s like watching a worse version of Tony Pullis, and his football was crap.

Or not.
 
What an awful display of non-football that second half was by us.

If anyone parks on Millennium Way then be aware that the usual hour long wait to get out afterwards might be significantly increased tomorrow unless all of this disappears.

It was the cowardly way Couhig stabbed us in the back when he knew we could not fight back. That got to me, and for that I can only hope their club gets screwed over on a regular basis.
 When we get out of this league, I can only hope they end up being relegated.

Take from it what you will. It was the only time in the match that Warne reacted like that and I thouhgt it was instructive that it was after Sibley said something to him given the speculation about their relationship.
Warne seemed to want to spend the first 20 mins berating the fourth official until the fourth official got really bored of him and marched him back to his technical area.
 

I know precisely what Warne said in reposnse to what Sibley said and it was the only time that Warne acted like that in the game. I'm not claiming that this is indicative of their relationship in general but I think it's worth noting when there is speculation about their relationship.
I thought the fourth official thing was worth mentioning as it seemed out of character. I've seen Warne having discussions and sometimes heated discussions with fourth officials but not to that frequency/intensity.

Not impossible but unikely I'd say.
I did post on another thread recently about a conversation I'd been party to in 1989 with one of the 1971/72 league winners who when asked what he though of Brian Clough said most of the time he couldn't stand him. Probably some truth in that but a whole lot of caveats as well.
I'm not using this one reaction to advance an argument one way or another, I just thought it was worth mentioning as we were probably the only Derby fans to hear Warne's reaction.
