What a fickle lot 95% of the people on this forum are. No patience whatsoever. For goodness sake give people ( including Warne) some breathing space and time to develop. We could lose 4-0 on Tuesday and all the crap messages will be back no doubt.

Cant believe people are arguing and point scoring. We won 4-2 away at "Posh". FGS just wind your necks in and enjoy it for what it is 🐏🐏🐏

I have nothing to say reacted to Allen in Summer recruitment, and how will it end?
I honestly feel some people need to give their head a good wobble. I really think some people think recruiting new players is as easy as going down to Tesco and buying a loaf of bread. Maybe we should wait till September 1 before judging our summer recruitment too harshly. And even giving players a decent chance to show how good/bad they are before we call them a reincarnation of Bobby Malcolm/King Kevin Hector.

We need to stop looking at goal records of 22 year olds and focus more on their technical ability, progression, etc.
In League One, you’re only ever going to sign players with poor goal records - especially from higher up the pyramid. We can’t expect to sign 22 year olds with a 1 in 3 record in the Championship over the course of his career - those players are worth £5-10m in today’s market.

Maybe we as fans need to keep our beds dry a bit.
Club and manager don't mention any signings? Fans have a melt down
Club and manager say signings might happen? Fans have a melt down
Club and manager say signings will happen  very soon? Fans have a melt down
The fact that on here, twitter and other forums we had fans at 18.01 saying "where are the promised signings?" Tells you all you need to know.
    But I want it now!!

I have nothing to say reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Where's this new midfielder?
He didn’t say that. He said we were close to agreeing a deal, he hoped it would be done for Saturday but it was unlikely, he also said he’s been wrong before.
Perhaps you’re right in that he should say nothing until the deal is done, but he’s asked repeatedly in his interviews and I am quietly confident that a series of “no comments” from Warne when it comes to recruitment would also generate a fair amount of hand wringing and teeth gnashing amongst the fan base. The bloke can’t win when it comes to pleasing everyone/meeting varying expectations of the fan base.

Whilst there is no escaping it's been a poor start to the season, I can't believe we're here already *checks date* 17th August throwing replacement names into the hat.
Just feels wrong you know, with no reports suggesting there is any possible departure on the horizon.
3 league games into a season where he's had chance to bring his own players, is that where we're at now, 3 games and any patience completely evaporates?
Let's say Warne was sacked today, we then have 2 weeks to find a replacement and make any adjustments to the squad before the window closes.
Oh, and figure out compensation for a whopping contract. It just makes zero sense unless Warne has completely lost the dressing room, do we honestly believe he has?
Or is it just a case of a half a new team trying to gel together and put Warne's plan into place on the pitch, in which case give the bloke some time and climb down off his back.

90% of the suggestions in this thread are ex Derby players/coaches. I understand why people like the idea, but we need to ditch this mindset. There's no evidence to suggest that people with previous connections to a club are any better suited to managerial/coaching roles than anyone else.
Warne must be given the season. I don't like what I'm currently seeing, but as a club we made the call to invest in him and sign the players he wanted. Constantly changing managers for years and having to sign a whole new set of players to suit them landed us in financial trouble. We should at least learn from the experience.

To the OP, please submit your plan for Head of Recruitment, coaching team (including Head Coach) and any other back-room staff. Please include specifically which players should be brought in and the cost in transfer fees and wages.
Finally, please submit your 3 year P&L forecast for your rebuild plan. (make sure to get this plan agreed and signed off by the EFL.
Oh, and before I forget, take £60m of your own money and sink it into a football club with no guarantees that you will get any return on your investment.

I have nothing to say reacted to Tyler Durden in A penny for David Clowes’ thoughts - and what comes next?
It's not a pressure cooker at the moment.
It only appears to be as the fire is being stoked by the persistence of folks creating thread after thread after thread discussing the same talking point.
Am sure that Clowes has had to make far more difficult decision during his career which is why he's a successful businessman.
How do you know the weight is heavy on his shoulders? Is he a personal friend or confident?
If he ever reads this forum he's probably wondering what he got himself in for after reading the level of hysteria following 4 games.

I think people look for things that aren’t there when he’s speaking. To me, he comes across as an honest, hardworking, enthusiastic individual who will no doubt put his all into this club no matter the circumstances. He was open about not wanting to lose Knight but having his hands tied, he’s open about not being able to bring in the perfect striker, what else do you want him to say? Then there are those who dissect every little comment as if he’s speaking in riddles. He’s just a bloke, he’s not a Marvel villain delivering a monologue before a big fight with Captain America. There is no further meaning behind his comments, he just says what he sees/feels.

After a night of severe (and I mean SEVERE) sleep deprivation thanks to a new addition, I did a deep dive on other club's forums to try and gauge the feel of the place and try and get an understanding of where fans expect their clubs to be come the end of the season. Who knows the clubs hopes and aspirations better than their own fans... right(?)!
You could probably split the division into 5 categories, however due to the sheer confidence of one side then I had to go for six categories.
Tier 1 - automatic promotion, nothing less: Blackpool.
No team has more confidence going into the season than Blackpool, although they've lost some (key) players they have absolute faith in their squad and management team. They even have a thread: 'we'll piss league one' where they're united in that thought. Ok, some are obviously more pessimistic about their chances but largely most feel they're at worst a play-off team next season.
Tier 2 - play-offs, automatic promotion hopefuls: Barnsley, Bolton & I would put us here.
Barnsley are still very confident of a good season, the general belief is they have comfortably the best midfield in the league (which I thought was ironic since most of their wins came when they barely touched the ball and still feel they have enough to mount a challenge. Bolton, too, who I think were hoping for a better transfer window than they've had but they have faith in the players remaining. They're optimistic about their frontline, more so than their defence. We're the opposite, I would say, but all three sides believe they're 2-3 players short from cementing a tier one space next to the mighty Blackpool.
Tier 3 - play-off expectation, upper mid-table floor: Portsmouth, Charlton, Oxford, Wycombe.
I was surprised about the confidence out of Wycombe since they've lost Lewis Wing (their best player IMO) but their recent transfer activity has them a little bit giddy. Portsmouth, who a lot of people are tipping for top 2, aren't being held in the same belief as their fans. They feel they lack creativity and goals in the side and whilst Poole and Scully have earned good reviews - the rest of the players have underwhelmed in pre-season. Charlton are a little more confident, but still feel they're quite a few short. Oxford are absolutely buzzing after their pre-season and definitely have an expectation they will be in the top 6 come the end of the season. Ruben Rodrigues as their top goalscorer.
Tier 4 - upper midtable, play-off hopeful: Reading, Bristol Rovers and Burton Albion.
One of these is not like the other, Reading are quite negative in their assessment and but some are still hopeful they can get to the play-offs this season. Bristol Rover and Burton Albion are more in hope than in expectation they can make it. We'll have to see about Reading, obviously they were making an impression in the market before it all got shutdown.
Tier 5 - midtable sides with very little hope of play-offs: Lincoln, Fleetwood, Peterborough, Wigan, Leyton Orient & Cheltenham.
Surprised at the apathy regarding Peterbrough but can only assume it's due to the news floating around the club at the minute, not surprising as we have been there. Wigan fans are confident midtable obscurity is where they will land following the -8 point deduction. I tend to agree with them. Cheltenham are fairly chipper for a team that's just lost their top goalscorer but believe Keena can more than replace him. Leyton Orient are obviously buoyant after winning League Two and keeping their better players around, bar the goalkeeper which is understandable. Lincoln are happy with their business, still many predict them to be within the 8th-14th spots. Fleetwood, somewhat surprised me, but they think they will be well clear of relegation too given Marriott and Stockley upfront.
Tier 6 - lower midtable sides, relegation worries: Cambridge, Exeter, Shrewsbury, Stevenage, Port Vale, Northampton & Carlisle.
I won't go into it too mcuh, but all these sides are the ones who are anticipating a struggle on the whole. Cambridge, Northampton and Exeter are the three I worry most about after looking at their fans concerns. Shrewsbury very downbeat after losing Steve Cotternil and Luke Leahy. Carlisle, Northampton and Stevenage are just promoted teams looking to survive the year. No surprise none of them have aspirations of play-offs.
In terms of other teams expectations - definitely felt most expected us to finish top, more often than not the top two predictions were us and Bolton. Portsmouth thrown in at times, as were Barnsley. Despite Blackpool's confidence, very few had them finishing in the top 2 funnily enough.
If I was going to use all this and make my own prediction:
Derby, Bolton, Blackpool, Charlton, Oxford and Barnsley would be my best for a top 6.
Cambridge, Northampton and Carlisle/Exeter for the drop.

I just prefer to remember Nuge for the hat trick, the bicep tough guy moment and his obvious all round pleasure in playing the great game. Yes in the later part of his stay with us he went off the boil and couldn’t finish for toffee. Accepting that and knowing his days were done I still won’t forget the all round brightness he brought with him. Good bloke, good footballer.

I don't think so...... I thought Stoke were far the better team ....... Derby have got big problems in midfield and it needs addressing
We are really lightweight and sit too deep. When Smith went off we were awful ... It has to be said, also we need more pace up front

Appreciate he might not be as exciting as some of the names rumoured, but perhaps he could be what we need? Everyone lost their mind when Colin Kazim Richards signed but he was exactly what that team needed.
Just saying, if he signs then why not wait and see before writing him off...
