  1. A well deserved victory. A 3-0 win over a promotion rival. Not something we tend to do that often.

The first? If that had been at the other end we'd all have been up in arms. The softest of soft penalties. About time we got one, I suppose.

Cracking 2nd from Fozzy. Another good shot from Fozzy was the keeper parry the ball and Collo was on hand to chest it in at the far post.

Later Sibs hit the bar. Collo might (should?) have had a 3rd.

An hour into the game, I commented to the wife that things don't get much better than this. Derby winning and me drinking a bottle of Pedigree on a Saturday afternoon.

Lastly, I forecast pre game that if they came to play football we'd win. They did and so did we. Thankfully they didn't come to get physical and play "industrial" football.

Brown was subbed pretty early yesterday, so wouldn’t be shocked if he is on the bench again. I’d put them both on there if we can. Deserves a reward for the performance.

Brown played the full 90 in te FA Youth Cup last night so I'd be surprised if he was on the bench against Barnsley. Weston is too old for the Youth Cup so he hasn't played since Wednesday and doesn't have an U21 game till next weekend. I think he'll be on the bench today.

  3. Never served, always donate to the Appeal via the Neppy. I remember on my first visit to the Netherlands aged 21 or 22. Visited the War Cemetery in Arnhem. Seeing the ages of the fallen brought tears to my eyes. They were almost all younger than I was and had made the ultimate sacrifice. I, for one, will never forget them nor the sacrifice they made.

I would dearly love to see everybody in their seats a good while prior to kick off today and to appreciate the ceremonial happenings. That last pre match beer/cola/pie/burger.... that can be taken a little earlier than usual. IMO, not being in your place by 10 to 3 today would be showing total disrespect to the fallen.

My biggest concern with Warne has always been his obsession with “26-30 year olds”.

Competing financially in League 1 is easy with gates like ours but we’re not gonna compete in the championship on gates/external investment because it’s full of similar sized clubs

Our best chance of having success in the championship, in my opinion, is to bring through and retain academy talent into their prime

In a few years Bird, Cashin, Sibley will be entering that age.

Such a shame the likes of Whittaker and Knight (and the rest) had to leave

24 to 30 age group is the glue that teams need. We had none. All kids and wrinklies don't make for a top side.

  5. A day of surprises. More changes than I expected, especially considering the EFL rules for selection for the Trophy.

Brown never really got into the game. He's a better player than he showed last night but got no decent ball

Wilson took 25 minutes to get the better of their left back but was brilliant after that

Collo started poorly, his first 4 involvements were committing 2 fouls and being caught offside twice. After that he played well and got the hattrick. Also Barks' MOTM. Not mine though.

Young Weston replaced Brown at HT and was a revelation. All action, getting stuck in, an assist and a goal.

My favourite player on the day was Fapetu. You wouldn't think he was making his senior debut. That cheeky 50 yard attempt shows he has great vision to go with his skill and work rate. Gets stuck into the oppo as well. We might see him and Weston on the bench in one or both of the next 2 games.

If Carlsberg did an “All time greatest headed goals at pride Park Stadium” highlights reel, that header from Collins following that inch perfect cross would probably go down as one of the greatest headed goals ever scored at Pride Park Stadium since 1847!

    … or something.

    👀

Best ever DCFC headed goal has to be Ronnie Webster's again Citeh. Ball crossed from the left to him as he steamed up from his right back position, must have run getting on 50 yards, by Alan Hinton and he directed it beautifully into the bottom left hand corner.

That's a fair point and not criticising you, as I know you put a lot of effort and expense into coming over to see Derby play live, but surely bums on seats in the stadium will help create a better atmosphere to spur our young lads on to the win?

Plus most people who attend spend money in the concourse, too.

Merely a reply to the post saying go rather than watch on TV pointing out that the stream costs more than a ticket. My two, now aged 29 and 31, were born 15 miles from the Ajax ground and they support.... DCFC (and England). They too, will be at the Reading and Bolton matches in March. Also bringing my brother in law for his 6th Rams game and 2 friends to their first. "Spread the word, keep the faith" is my mantra

So will I . I have been to all the Papa cup games and I will be at the Crewe replay. Why ? Because if you can’t get out of your armchair , how can you moan that the club can’t afford to buy a decent striker . About 3,000 tonight and about 8,000 v Crewe ? Are we really such a “Massive “ club?

Here in Amsterdam I have an annual subscription to RamsTV and will be watching from my armchair. Flown back for 2 games this season so far. Back in March for Reading and Bolton. Will do between 2 and 4 more games during the season.

With regard to the bit in bold. East Stand tickets tonight are £6, RamsTV stream is a tenner... Stay home, buy the stream and you increase the club's cash flow

The assessors report after the game reportedly said...I asked Stewart why he disallowed both the goals after showing him on the TV, He looked and didn't have an answer...never liked him since, A product of the George Courtney school of school masters 😡

Attwell. Indeed, couldn't say why he'd disallowed either of them. Still fast tracked up the refereeing ladder...

    Also for @hintonsboots

I’m not saying it’s the only factor, and we played well enough on Tuesday night to have beaten pretty much anyone in the league, but to me the obvious answer to your question from the last 4 games is that Shrewsbury and Stevenage gave us little to no time on the ball whereas Exeter and Northampton couldn’t/didn’t stop us playing.

A point I've made a few times. Every game, there's an opposition who will do their level best to stop us doing whatever is in the plan for that game. Northampton had conceded an average of 1.21 goals per game prior to Tuesday. Their goals against tally rose by 23.5% that night. I don't believe they are as bad as that performance. Nor do I think we are as all conquering as we were Tuesday. The truth lies somewhere in between.

I think other teams will look at our games thus far this season and come to the conclusion that "get into 'em n feck 'em off" is a tactic this squad can't counter and we will see most opponents adopt that strategy. We need a Seth Johnson/George Thorne type in January to add steel to the team. I had hoped Fornah was going to be just that, he might still be but his last 3 appearances have not filled anyone with confidence.

    Agreed, Ammy!

Play it on the grass is always a worthwhile suggestion!

That worked pretty well against what looked like a poor Cobblers side on Tuesday. However, (a) are they that bad, (b) they had a poor day at the office, which is a possibility considering the fact that they had only conceded 17 in 14 League games previously this season OR is it (c) they played as well as we allowed them to on what turned out to be an excellent day at the office for us.

My opinion is that (a) is wrong as they hadn't been hammered by anybody this season and had beaten Posh, conceding an average of just over 1 goal (1.21 to be preciser) a game . I'm going for a combination of (b) and (c).
