  1. @DarkFruitsRam7  As someone old enough to have witnessed 2 League Division 1 Championships, a victory over the 'ammers at Wembley, I can see you've managed the "tired and weary" bit. I've not always been enamoured by the style but we look like we've had sufficient good results, in a results based business, to have earned the step back up to the SBC. I've "accepted" the style as it's PWs tried and trusted method of escaping this League. It's a recipe that looks like it's going to work. Our 3rd ever stint at the 3rd level and looking like it'll be our 3rd 2nd season promotion.

To all you young uns that haven't experienced the absolute brilliance of the sweet smell of success, I say, breathe it in, hold it in, commit every jump, every shout, every tingle of the spine, every hug from fans, most of whom you don't know to undeletable memory banks. I can still remember where I was when we won in '72. In the Swan Hotel, Burton listening to the L**ds commo on a transistor radio. There when we won it at '75 at Maine Road. Most other successes were enjoyed remotely as I moved abroad in '84.

Whatever your age, savour each and every moment. Next Saturday promises to be one of the best days of your life.

    COME ON EWE RAMS!!

    That is too much...

Can't we have a whip round to pay for a taxi?

As they'd have to go via her Mam's, which is 14Km from the airport and then to ours, a further 14Km, the fare would be €100. At least I get to see the game on me phone...

East Stand block F for me against Carlisle.

  3. Be watching 1st half in the car on me phone. Er indoors lands back from 5 days in Barcelona with her Mam, 25 minutes before kick off. KO minus 5 I'll be in the Schiphol airport car park, €2.30 per 20 minutes or part thereof. Luggage hits the belt around 25 minutes into the game, I expect to see the two of them about 35 minutes into the game. Er indoors will then drive us back to her Mam's to drop her off and then us back home. Hopefully see the last 20 at home with a celebratory beer...

Next week it's Block F, Row FF in the East Stand.

  4. As an expat, it looks like I'll still be paying my 20 quid a month for RamsTV and also still get back for around 8 games next season. I'd do more but finances dictate otherwise. I'd never dream of using a dodgy stick for a Rams game. Can't say I'm as honest when it comes to things I can't get over here, things I'm not even allowed to pay for like UK Sky or TNT or ITV, Channel 4 enz.

We do need to go for the 3 points and not be dependent on the results of “other” clubs.

    1. We want to celebrate promotion at Pride Park

    2. Three points  on Saturday would surely break the hearts of Bolton and Peterborough.

Quite feasibly but they play each other on the last day and 3rd place will probably be at stake. I don't see either side resting players for the playoffs if that's the case.

  6. If you look at Bolton's last 2 games, they have had the better of possession, shots and shots on target. V Pompey 58%, 19 shots v 5, 6 on target v 1. V Shrewsbury 70%, 25 shots v 8, 13 on target v 3. That's 3 goals from 44 shots of which 19 were on target. Great inefficiency on the vinegar stroke...

    Is that their great weakness?

  7. He joined us on Jan 31st. His last game for them was Jan 1st. He hasn't been injured this season, his 2nd at Cardiff. That Jan 1st game was Cardiff's 29th of the season in all competitions. Ebou was in the matchday squad for their season's opener at L**ds. In those 29 games he had 5 starts, was subbed off on 3 of those occasions. He was subbed on 8 times.

I disagree with @Srg. Ebou was fit enough from the start of the season. Why else would he have been in the squad?

Season 1 at Cardiff ended in pre season when he suffered a clean tear of his pectoral muscle tendon, 10 minutes into his first pre season game for them. He was due for a return six months later but then picked up a knee injury which ruled him out for the rest of the season without making a senior first team appearance.

Absolutely no one was thinking Idiakez was a defensive mid.

Including me. Nowhere did I post that the two played the same role. Technically, he's not in Idi's League. Physically, the reverse is true.

It's only occasionally you'll get a DM who is also technically gifted. GT was one.

  9. The Popside Fanatics group held a funding thing to raise money for flags. 50 of them (flags, not the Fanatics) were put on seats in the South Stand last weekend, 25 were "liberated" post match. The idea is for the flags to remain "on site" and not to be taken home. They were paid for by donations from ordinary fans like yours truly.

Both the Fanatics and I would greatly appreciate any flags that were inadvertently taken home being returned for the Carlisle game and then left in the South Stand post match for reuse next season.

They did post in all the Rams Facebook pages that the flags should not be taken home, it seems not everybody read that.

  10. Way too soon to think about next season. We still don't KNOW which League we'll be in. More than half the squad is out of contract this summer. How anyone can say we won't this or can't that is way premature. The current squad and style probably won't work in the SBC. However, if we do go up you can expect 10 out and as many in and feasibly a change of style as PW has found out, to his cost on 2 occasions, what DOENS'T work in the SBC. Hopefully we'll have decent financial backing and be able to put together more of a footballing side capable of going wide and putting crosses in AND playing through the middle on the floor AND playing balls into the channels. The best teams can do all 3...

Must admit, I was surprised to see that at HT, we'd had 1 shot on target... yet were leading 2-0!  The Beeb had it down as an OG.  I had a decent view from the NE corner, and there was no hint of an OG live, and nobody around me hinted at it.  I've yet to see any highlights though.

    🤷‍♂️

    EDIT:

Seen the highlights now... looks 100% Wilson to me, and his immediate reaction appears to back it up?

More interestingly, what the heck was Cashin doing as the corner came over his head... it was hardly a subtle attempt at a "Hand of God"!  I hope his handball was miss was deliberate! 🤣

I think the beeb was, and still is, unsure. Go to their results page and click on the game and you'll see the opener down as an OG. Scroll down into the match report and it says Wilson scored it.

I said pre match that matching the midweek 1st half performance but with improved shooting would see us win. We didn't match it, we bettered it and kept it up all game. 3 goals, all from set pieces, and we won at a canter in the end. The O's managed 6 shots, none of them on target meaning JW had a quiet afternoon. Great performance from the crowd too. Here's to those lucky enough to have a ticket for Cambridge make lots of noise as usual. See y'all for the Carlisle game.

It's back in our own hands. Keep calm. Keep focused. We'll be rate.

179 euro from Amsterdam to Luton on saturday morning, returning sunday morning. Stop overnight at Luton airport and trains up to Derby 🐏

Plus ANOTHER £88 for the train plus 60 to 70 for a hotel at best. Add in beer, food and a match ticket and that's €450. I'd usually expect to pay that flying into Brum Friday morning, 2 nights hotel, Train, match ticket, food and beer, back Sunday afternoon, not for a 24 hour rush...
