A nothing comment that could be made about each and every team we play. I actually watched the game and saw nothing to fear, bar their threat from set pieces. Doesn't mean they can't beat us, but I'd happily lay your bet if you fancy them as much as you seem to.

Not so much fancying them, just recognising their particular brand of "football" is not one we tend to do well against. Physical, stealing 15+ yards at throws, Taking an age to take dead ball situations as long as it's still 0-0, falling over as if poleaxed if you look at them too hard, destroying any flow to the game etc.

12 shots, only one of which forced the keeper to make a save. Posh also had 10 shots blocked to Wycombe's 2 and 27 touches in the Wycombe area vs 13. They also forced 15 corners compared to their Wycombe's 2.

Wycombe won more aerial battles and that's probably a significant stat and with that in mind, we'll need someone picking up Forino, who was dominant at both ends. He'll be a threat. We'll also need to keep an eye on Leahy who is dangerous from both from open play and free kicks. Considering the size of them, I thought Wycombe went down pretty easily, under even minimal contact and the referee bought most, if not all of it. How Posh ended up conceding 11 free kicks to Wycombe's 8 is something of a mystery to me, but again, it's something we need to be mindful of as I think their principal threat against us will arise from set pieces. Calm heads required.

Regardless of the quality, to have 12 shots off less than 30% possession isn't that bad. Posh only managed 18 from over 70%. If they find their scoring boots instead of their shooting boots...

    EFL statment:

" After vigorous investigation, a crack team of EFL sleuths have uncovered facts regarding Quantuma. We have discovered that rather than being a highly professional and impartial company of financial wizards, they were in fact, a fly-by-night bunch of chancers run by some Nottinghamshire bloke in a dress called Dawn, and a mysterious curly haired man, believed to operate from a bunker in Northern England.

We, the EFL, can only offer our most profound apologies to the good people of Derbyshire, and hope that the return of points and a promise of favourable referees will, in some small way, alieviate any distress caused."

    Statment ends.

Who, in their right mind, calls a dress Dawn?

The72 crew are clueless mate. Word to the wise, don't take anything they say seriously. That's pure doom-scroll clickbait.

How many forums are you on btw? After spotting you on the Wycombe board, a quick google reveals quite a lot, though given recent history, Wycombe is definitely the weirdest.

Clickbait, agreed. However, when they actually say something rather than the speculation they mainly post, it's generally spot on although 95% of what they post is pure speculation, the rest is copied from other sources. So, 5% of their posts are accurate... this was one. Seems Fozzy, like Collo, looks like getting back early. Good news if true.

Went on Wycombe when the Couhig thing started to ask their view on it. I was polite, they responded in kind, had some discussion on there, not always agreed with each other but it's been civilised, even when I faulted their "style" although I do understand why they play that way.

I'm one of the last few on FootyMad. Joined this one when COYR went south. Used to run the East Midlands Collective before that ended up with a handful of posters from a top of 500.

My background? Played till I was 53. Last few years as player/coach, UEFA B qualified. Coached the youth keepers at my local club for about 10 years. Qualified ref as well. Quit that 2 years ago after a broken fibula that needed 2 operations left me not able to keep up with play box to box for 90 minutes. Always said I'd never become the ref that never left the centre circle so, at 68 and true to my word, I stopped.

Where from? The only source I've seen saying that is our very own @Millenniumram who claimed that not only was he out for the season, but that he'd played his last game for the club. I own underpants more ITK than him though.

Read/heard on dcfc.co.uk from a PW interview in the week following the Bolton game IIRC.

Pinched from the local Peterborough Telegraph

The entire lower section of the Posh end is sold out, a very small number of tickets remain in the blocks of Level 2 and the club has sold enough tickets to open the top three blocks of the stadium’s top tier.

Wycombe, meanwhile, have sold considerably less and only saw the first block of Level 2 opened for their fans on Tuesday in the west side of the stadium.

The top tier will therefore, will be largely empty, but for around 500 Posh fans.

The opening of Level 2 means that Wycombe have sold just over 15,000 tickets, bringing the estimated attendance close to 38,000.

    …………………..no further comment required!

38K? We'd take more than that.

Having said that their >15K Wembley following is THREE times their average home gate of 4919, we took more than that average to Barnsley...

Pretty sure Warne mentioned that Forsyth is due back training as well as Bird & Barkuizen

Everything I've seen/heard has been Foz out for the season. Possibly not heard everything though. Bird is due to be available from the Wycombe game. Barks is training but not yet match ready IIRC.

Wasn’t Mel going to put a big extension on the East stand at one time ? A Luxury fan-zone would be nice there . Where fans can sit in comfort at a table , eat , drink and have a pre - match chat . DCFC pay almost £1 million a year to rent PP from Clowes , so a bit of income during the Summer would come in handy also .

Don't know if this is what you meant... when PP was built, foundations were put in to allow another ring on the East Stand and maybe the North as well IIRC. The extra seating would increase capacity to 44K but he only planned to do the extension after we'd had at least one relegationless season in the PL.

With us having a longer break than them & them having a cup final on Sunday on a big pitch vs a good footballing team I would hope with our team we go there on Weds and run all over them & kill them with our pace & energy.

Depending on Ward's fitness I would expect the same starting 11. I have a feeling that 1 or maybe 2 of Forsyth, Bird & Barkhuizen may make the bench. It is getting to the point of the season where I think Warne might take a risk with injuries if needed, such as Forsyth as we have not first team defender on the bench.

Forget Fozzy for the rest of the season. Bird might make the bench. Barks not yet ready.

Personally I wouldn’t due to the risk. I’d be tempted to go after Langstaff, Cole or the guy at Stockport who I think might be able to make the step up.

there’s lots of players out of contract too!

    Stretton 🙂
