1Wildsmith. 6.5. Generally handled well but could possibly have done better for goals #2 and #3?

24Nyambe. 6. Tough game against a tough opponent, could have done with more help on occasion.

35Nelson.  6.5. Not as assured as usual against a mobile forward line. Must share some blame for the winner.

6Cashin. 7 See Nelson. Generally played well, but defending for each goal could have been better.

3Forsyth. 6. Tough game against a good winger, hamstrung by early yellow.

20Elder. 7.5. Impressive. Did more than most to keep Boro at bay and got forward too.

4Hourihane.  5. The skipper struggles for consistency. Looked static.

16Thompson. 6.5. Lively again.

2Wilson.  7. Our main threat in first half, but faded due poss to herculean effort against Oxford.

24Ward. 6. Couldn't impact the game much, but I thought his treatment from Boro supporters was utterly bovine. No wonder Fergie hates them.

11Méndez-Laing. 6.5. Needs a rest.

19John-Jules. 6.5. One rasping effort brought good save from the keeper. Needs new boots.

8Bird.  6. Struggled against swarming opponent, but never stopped trying to create.

9Collins. 7 Two goals and unstinting effort.

7Barkhuizen  5. If he'd gone off after 30 seconds, he'd have got a 9. Maybe he thought his job was done for the day?

17Sibley. 6. Struggled to make a difference.

Overall - a game too far for some, but what a run they've put together. Fresh legs v Fleetwood and let's get 25 from the next 10 again.

Midfield largely overrun and we made poor choices at times in attack. Can’t fault Warne’s substitutions. We just weren’t quite good enough.

1Wildsmith. 6.0 A poor game by Joe's high standards

24Nyambe. 6.0 Struggled manfully, overloaded at times

35Nelson.  6.5 An average run -out - he's human after all

6Cashin. 7.0 Decent without showing the same form as in recent games

3Forsyth. 6.0 Not Fozzy's best game but like Nyambe, he had plenty on

20Elder. 7.0 Thought he looked good in a moderate team performance

4Hourihane.  5.5 Has looked so much better in recent outings, but this was a poor showing

16Thompson. 6.5. Ran hard and was not disgraced

2Wilson.  7.0 Did well to begin with but faded quickly

24Ward. 6.5 A fair display against his old club who showed him not one ounce of respect

11Méndez-Laing. 6.5. Leggy AF - ran hard but was not as sharp as he can be

19John-Jules. 6.5. Did Ok I thought and interested to know where he goes from here

8Bird.  6.0 An anonymous performance from a tired looking Max - did we set up our midfield incorrectly?

9Collins. 8.5 The man who isn't good enough for many on here ran his heart out and was rewarded with our goals. Man's a Trojan and did not deserve to be on the losing side.

7Barkhuizen  4.5 Early assist then went missing all game - having a really poor season and perhaps needs a move elsewhere

17Sibley. 5.5 Nondescript again

Warne Watch:
I think with hindsight that Fornah should have started the match, but you could see the gaffer's frustration with the lads even before we conceded the first. We didn't compete at all and I'm not sure we even deserved a point, but if it's to be one really bad game among every 10 or so, I'll gladly take that as we'll be promoted.

FWIW, I think the lads gassed themselves getting back into the game against Oxford and without silly errors, both matches would have been a deal less demanding. Seldom complain about refs, as in this league they are all shyte, but the officials yesterday were among the weakest I've ever seen.

RamsTV

1Wildsmith. 6.5 Deflection saw their 1st go in, 2nd was in the right place but that leaves his right hand post open, a player on the post would have seen it saved, 3rd saw Jones slightly quicker

24Nyambe. 6.5 battled well but all too often had 2 opponents to mark

35Nelson.  6.5. He and Cash contributed to their 3rd

6Cashin. 7 He and Nels contributed to their third

3Forsyth. 6. Tough game against a good winger. His yellow and the knock to the knee saw him, rightfully subbed at HT

20Elder. 7. First time he's impressed me this season.

4Hourihane.  4. Too slow against a fast and mobile team plus a couple of very lame attempted passes

16Thompson. 6.5. Put himseld about to no avail

2Wilson.  7. Good 1st half, ran out of steam.

24Ward. 6. A better performance from him

11Méndez-Laing. 4. Did he beat his man at all? His failure to track his man saw that player provide the assist for their first. Half a dozen other occasions in the first half where he failed to track back where we got away with it.

19John-Jules. 6. One good shot on the turn. Failed to track back and looked sluggish being unable to catch the man with the ball when it's well known that you can run faster without it than you can with...

8Bird.  6.5 Trying to do the work of 2 with CH conspicuous by his absence.

9Collins. 7.5 MOTM typical Collo effort and 2 goals

7Barkhuizen  5. Lovely chipped cross for the first, pretty ineffective after that

17Sibley. 6.5 Very good defensively. Unable to make a telling impact going forward.

1Wildsmith 6 some decent claiming of crosses but possibly could been better for the last 2 goals.

24Nyambe 6.5 Great effort but seemed a little panicky. Can see why because they had pace and power in abundance.

35Nelson 6.5 Decent enough but the goals are a defensive mess.

6Cashin 6.5 As above. Done for pace in first half.

3Forsyth 6 Struggled against pace and attacking link ups not quite so good.

20Elder 6.5 Opposite side to me but seemed to be sound defensively and ok on the ball. Seemed to come inside rather than go outside on his left.

4Hourihane 5  Slow, sloppy and lightweight. Gave the ball away a few times that put us under unnecessary pressure.

16Thompson 6.5 He's dynamic, quick and tidy feet, kept tbe ball and used it well. Huge effort and I'm looking forward to seeing him gain fitness and replacing one of tbe less mobile midfielders.

2Wilson 7.5 superb first half ball winning, driving forward gazza-like. Was so looking forward to seeing him in front of me in 2nd half, but he was knackered by then.

24Ward 6 One decent ball in.

11Méndez-Laing 6 some great defensive ball winning but never seemed to have the ball under control going forwards, nothing came off and he didn't seem on same wavelength as others.

19John-Jules 6 Nicely worked shot but didn't get much of tbe ball.

8Bird 6 Midfield was wide open, they just waltzed right on through too easily, especially second half.  Not all his fault, pairing him with Hourihane was a crime in this game. Decent effort given, but nothing that effective.

9Collins 7.5 Great effort. Great header for the goal. Some good hold up play.

7Barkhuizen 6 Good cross for the goal but not a lot else.

17Sibley 6 one great tackle but didn't get hold of the ball generally.

ATG. Best side we've seen at home.  I knew they'd have attacking menace but their midfield surprised me and totally dominated ours.

We did OK and Warne was decisive about addressing issues as best we could. Needed to be at our best to win and weren't.

ATG

1Wildsmith 6

24Nyambe 6

35Nelson 6 - should have left Cash to deal with the third as he actually contributed to it.

6Cashin 6 -caught out of position for the second and could have been stronger for the winner.

3Forsyth 5  - Early yellow put him on the back foot that was already being outrun. No support from NML.

20Elder 7 - Actually thought he was a great when he came on. The threat down his side was lessened due to his defending and the attacking threat our side increased.

4Hourihane 4 - I’m hoping it was him who went in at half time and said ‘boss, they’ve got me on toast here, I’m useless’. A game too far for his legs and current ability. Sadly showed up what we are missing in the middle and up front.

16Thompson 6 - Clearly not got the wind or legs in him yet to be chasing shadows, but more effective than all the rest of the midfield.

2Wilson 7 - Early threat and actually a joy to watch when he’s skinning defenders,  tired and always had two to beat so became less effective.

24Ward 6 - not much time to make an impact. Ridiculous treatment by the Posh fans.

11Méndez-Laing 4 - Clearly knackered. Not effective going forward and waltzed back for their first.

19John-Jules 6 - Harsh treatment by the ref. Would have been even more effective if he’d got the decisions his play deserved.

8Bird 6 - Over ran by their midfield but still progressed the ball well and as always calm in possession and passed to a white shirt.

9Collins 7 - Two goals besides the crap pen. Worked tirelessly and manned up when others around him shrank.

7Barkhuizen 4 - Gets a point for the assist. Other than that an absolute passenger.

17Sibley 6 - Not effective going forward, neither was anyone else, great midfield tackle with no yellow so that’s a bonus. Really want him to hit the strides he’s capable of but didn’t affect the game like there subs did.

Wildsmith.4.Leaden-footed for their second and very weak for their winner where he wasn’t brave and aggressive enough and left his legs open.

Nyambe.7.Tough day for all the defence as Peterborough increasingly dominated with their pace and power and had little protection from our weak midfield.Stuck at it.

Nelson 7. As per Nyambe

Cashin 7.5.Worked so hard.Everywhere

Forsyth 6. Looked a bit weary and got a yellow card.Much of the danger was on his flank.Sensibly subbed at half time.

Elder 6.5. Did ok .Goal saving tackle.

Hourihane 5. Struggled in a game needing power and pace.

Thompson 6.Did ok.Not fully match fit yet.Tough game to come in to.More energy

Wilson 7.Worked so hard as usual.Mercurial unpredictable.Took it to them first half. Some very good moments

Ward. 6

Mendez Lang 7.Main attacking threat as usual.Only attacker to match their pace and strength.Gave everything as always

John Jules.6.5.Struggled to get in game.Came alive with a jink and powerful shot.Could have scored on another day

Bird 6 See Hourihane. Battled on.Needs a powerful minder alongside

Collins 7.5. Battled away and scored two good goals.Well done.

Barkhuizen 5.5. Ineffective

Sibley 5.5 Ineffective

1Wildsmith 6  - a mixed bag of good saves, good handling and control of his area, but could he have done better for the last two goals? Maybe the second, where he appeared wrong footed and slow to get down.

24Nyambe 6.5 a really good defender who had a good battle with his attacker.

35Nelson 7 A really busy and solid afternoon until the 94th minute.

6Cashin 7.5 Excellent again for the majority, but a c*** up for their winner.

3Forsyth 6 was ok but felt the full force of the Peterborough attack down his side

20Elder 7 Came on at HT and did a really good job defensively, if a little reluctant as a RWB to get forward.

4Hourihane 4 A passenger without the ball, gave the ball away too often in possession. Crazy to ask him to play a third game in a week against such athletic opposition.

16Thompson 6.5 hustled and bustled and made us more competitive in midfield

2Wilson 7 Was our most creative outlet until he tired after an hour

24Ward 6 Came on and was booed by the Peterborough fans. That's about it.

11Méndez-Laing 5 As our most creative outlet, he just didn't feature at all. Surprised he didn't get hooked at HT.

19John-Jules 6 Lovely turn and shot, but didn't get any service

8Bird 5.5 Like Hourihane, he got swamped by their midfield, but unlike others can at least pass to a team mate under pressure and is calm in possession. Still can't see what his most effective role is.

9Collins 7.5 Our best player. Two goals, worked tirelessly and put himself about as always.

7Barkhuizen 6 I thought he played well first half and would have subbed Mendez instead.

17Sibley 6 Helped shore up the midfield but little else.

Might have been better outcome if the defence had shown more composure, and when attackin, players looked up instead of just running until they lost the ball.

1Wildsmith 6 did some good stuff, but thought he could have been better positioned on occasions

24Nyambe 6 in a real battle, broke about even, first time I've seen him not come out on top

35Nelson 6.5 good defending generally but that third goal

6Cashin 6.5 ditto

3Forsyth 5.5 was done a few times early doors but improved when he got closer on his man, didn't get much help from his winger

20Elder 7 looked like a player who knows he's got a real fight on his hands to get a regular start; did his prospects no harm with this performance and one great block. Better going forward than I expected

4Hourihane 5 a tired performance and rightly subbed. Should he have started?

16Thompson 6.5 lively and retained the ball well, but not fully match fit yet

2Wilson 6.5 a bit hit and miss, kept turning ball out of play but some fantastic runs too. His end product needs work

24Ward 6 seemed a bit subdued, I was expecting more against his old club

11Méndez-Laing 5.5 worked hard early doors but nothing quite came off; didn't cover his man's runs back enough, that made Fozzy's job harder

19John-Jules 6.5 his control is good but still not fully match fit  and didn't seem to get any decisions from the referee

8Bird 6.5 great forward pass for the first goal, worked hard and started most of our moves, but was beaten rather easily by their midfielders

9Collins 8 great closing down, two goals and even offered defensive cover. One of his best games in a Derby shirt

7Barkhuizen 5 apart from his contribution to the first goal he looked lost

17Sibley 6.5 helped the midfield balance and kept plugging away; although he had limited offensive moves, did put in the ball that resulted in the penalty

1Wildsmith - 6.5, kept us in with a shout with some big saves

24Nyambe - 6, toughest game of the season so far for him

35Nelson - 6.5, could he have done better for the 3rd?

6Cashin - 6.5, forced into mistakes that he wouldn't normally make, testament to the Peterborough attackers

3Forsyth - 5.5, struggled with the attacks down his side

20Elder - 7, looked much more assured than Fozzy in the 1st half

4Hourihane - 5, two games in a few days looked to be too much, MoM for me last game, not to be in this one

16Thompson - 6.5, battled away, better with him in midfield

2Wilson - 7.5, main threat but looked as though the quick turnaround took its toll, to be expected

24Ward - 6, looked much better

11Méndez-Laing - 4.5, failed to track back at all, don't think he beat a man all game, unusually poor

19John-Jules - 6, great shot on the turn, not much else to say

8Bird - 6, largely anonymous but was he trying to do the job of two CMs?

9Collins - 9, ran his socks off, two deserved goals, led the press all the way through

7Barkhuizen - 5, got the assist, but offered nothing else

17Sibley - 6, largely struggled but the midfield looked better with him in it

So whose fault was it in the second half then that Bird was so poor? It’s always someone else fault 🤣 Is Bird a Liverpool fan or something 🤣

On Sky TV

1Wildsmith 6 Very good until the second goal, but then fell apart.

24Nyambe 6 OK but list the ball in dangerous positions, needing Cashin's cover.

35Nelson 6 OK but not dominant enough.

6Cashin 7.5 Reads the game excellently, but was having to cover across the whole  back line.

3Forsyth 6 Felt a game too much after such recent exploits. P'boro saw this and attacked down the right.

20Elder 6.5 Did well when coming on - pleased to see him on the field.

4Hourihane 5 Did very little

16Thompson 6 A game too soon - didn't seem on the pace yet.

2Wilson 7 After a slow start he constantly had the beating of his man, but then lost impetus

24Ward 5.5 Disappointing against his former club

11Méndez-Laing 5.5 A game too far - we know how he struggles for stamina

19John-Jules 6.5 Always hungry to score. Great turn and shot - if only

8Bird 5.5 Hardly impacted the game.

9Collins 8 Two goals, three good headers. Fought hard.

7Barkhuizen 5.5 A good first 20 seconds

17Sibley 6.5 Great set pieces (incl. winning the pen) and tackling and blocking. Struggled to make an attacking impact (as did all of them) but won our only corner with a deflected shot.
