Caerphilly Ram
Interestingly it’s an initial loan before he joins permanently in the summer….maybe that’s the reason for the hold up Edited January 22 by Caerphilly Ram angieram and Carl Sagan

oldtimeram
Can anyone explain why it's a loan until the summer and then sign him??
Srg
Presume the loan is purely because Charlton didn’t want us to have him playing against them twice next month? Kinder, Ted McMinn Football Genius, Carl Sagan and 4 others 2
GeneralRam
So he's signed on a pre-contract deal but then we're loaning him from Charlton until that kicks in. Why not just buy him outright?

MackworthRamIsGod
Have the EFL blocked us making a permanent signing for a fee, so we have changed to a loan?
Mckram
I can’t imagine they have an issue with him playing against them unless they genuinely feel they can make the play offs. It makes me wonder if there’s something daft in our business plan and this is a work around on it. edit - just seen he can play Charlton so must be the latter. Caerphilly Ram
Leigh Curtis and Dom Dietrich saying he CAN play against Charlton and he’s available to play tomorrow night, but might not. I'm wondering if the deal is this way to do with the ongoing business plan. All of our permanent non-free agent signings have had…erm….creative structures to the deal, perhaps there’s something in the ongoing business plan making us forward plan it all until Summer 2024 Andicis
